That’s an awesome thought. Names are important to the Rumpelstitskin story.

You know what this reminds to me of also:
In the last Harry Potter book, Voldermort puts a curse on his name so that when anyone speaks it aloud, he would know exactly where they were.

Rumple could have put the same sort of spell on Bae’s name. If Bae said his name, the shadow would be able to find him. It wouldn’t have worked when Bae grew up because he went by Neal.
