I thought Hook sounded concerned for Emma, and trying to reassure her.  It was a contrast to the way Grumpy/Leyroy sounded sort of insensitive about it.

Then again, he’s supposed to have “missed [Bae]  very much” but we haven’t seen much of  that side, more the “rival rival rival” mode for the most part.   If he said “I hope he is safe too” or “I am sure we will find him .” or even better  both, “I am sure he is safe and we will find him”–THAT would be very nice and show an affirmative desire that Neal is safe.  This way its  like a deflection,   “Turn up” makes him sound like a bad penny you just can’t get rid of, but  the tone was not sarcastic even if the phrase chosen could have more strongly told us that Hook cares about Neal for his own sake.  Instead, it seems this was more said to reassure Emma for her sake, because Hook cares about her, even if he doesn’t care or even doesn’t much mind if Neal doesn’t turn up.

I don’t doubt at all that Hook is jealous…and he definitely fails to keep it out of his tone, but I think the reason he worded it the way he did is because he knows Emma is already under enough stress and pressure with the curse.  He knows Emma is going to do everything in her power to save everyone.  And let’s be honest – does the town as a whole need her, or Neal?  Neal has proven to be very capable and very driven.  Hook knows this as well as, or better, than anyone.  He knows if Neal is alive, Neal will find a way to get back to his family.  I think the line is Hook’s way of alleviate some of the burden he knows Emma is going to take onto her shoulders by reassuring her that Neal will either be saved in conjunction with Emma’s work to save the town from the curse, or, if he’s separated for some other reason, he WILL figure out a way to get to wherever the family is.

Sometimes Hook is given lines that could be worded a lot better.

That is exactly the problem, I think.

So, they don’t even know whether or not Neal was taken back to Storybrook in the few curse?
They’re not sure if he’s missing or still in EF?

It sounds like they have no idea.

Also, Snow and Charming said it has been really confusing for the past few days. How long have they been back????? It can’t have been very long if everyone is scrambling like this.

Wasn’t there a Horowitz tweet or an interview response in which Adam said that everyone who was not dead was taken back to Storybrooke?

After the second Peek, I’m more certain that Grumpy was part of the ruse at the Town Hall. Someone said earlier in the thread that others like Granny etc might have been in on it too, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised. With Emma at the front of the room, Regina at the back, and several others in on the plan scattered through the middle, and standing up to speak, it means they could case the whole crowd as a team, to see if anyone wasn’t responding in an expected way, and maybe weed out the culprit.

As for Hook, I’ve been wondering if Neal could the one who sent him the message, and if so, then his reaction here would make sense, because if he’s been in contact with Neal somehow, he knows he’s still alive somewhere and is doing what he can to help from wherever he is. I mean, whoever gave Hook the message needed to know Neal’s address, needed to know that there were things in his apartment that would help Emma believe Hook. I think that narrows down the message sender to either Neal or Rumple, because no one else has been inside Neal’s apartment.

Yeah I don’t get this at all! If there are things picking you off in the woods then WHY GO INTO THE WOODS.

*skips away singing* If you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise…

Good point. With Neal’s address it really narrows it down to a two people.

I suspect that Neal is one of the people hiding out in the woods, and he’s not a monkey. After all, he’s spent over 100 years in Neverland. Hiding out in the woods wouldn’t be all that different to hiding out in a jungle.

We also have this photo of MRJ filming in what appears to be in the woods during the filming of 315: https://twitter.com/jenmorrisonlive/status/421038201638121472
