October 5, 2014 at 9:07 pm #284383WickedRegalParticipantThis episode was a bore to me right up till Henry went to Regina’s house. The only highlights is Snow’s outburst, and Henry coming home, and seeing Elizabeth as the original Ice Queen….everything else….no comment.

October 5, 2014 at 9:13 pm #284387RumplesGirlKeymasterOut of a possible 10 points, I am giving this episode a 6.0
It felt about the same as the premiere. It was slow and I felt myself wondering when it would actually end. There was nothing really remarkable until the final few moments.
What I liked
–Elsa and Emma. It’s nice to see Emma have a friend. I hope that continues
–Elizabeth Mitchell appearance at the end. Love her from LOST and I’m actually kind of excited to see what she does here.
–Anna was much better this episode.
What I Didn’t Like
–First and foremost, Bo-Peep was ridiculous. And not in the fun way. She was over the top, wearing a horrible costume, and her entire motivation and plot just felt absurd. She brands people and they are her flock? Okay then.
–Charming’s story about his father. Does EVERYONE have to have at least one horrible parent??? Seriously. It’s getting old. And it felt like they only gave us this story so that we’d never ask about Charming’s father ever again. It came out of nowhere.
–Snow is the mayor now cause CURSE. But…Regina was mayor even after they got their memories back. Does not compute.
–The CGI snow around Elsa is quite annoying.
–And continuing down the OOC path, Regina now only wants to be a parent when it suits her? I’m not an Evil Regal but that just feels VERY outside of Regina. Even when she’s not being a GREAT parent, she still wants to be a parent.

-I actually liked Bo Peep which is shocking I know. I thought it was different and is a way to get them to find Anna.
-The end with Henry, he should have done that in episode one or even a season ago.
-Rumples face at the mention of Anna and Elsa.
-Elizabeth Mitchell and her icy self.Least:
-Anna and Charming. Charming felt forced and it didn’t seem natural. His fathers story is also thrown in there. I guess we don’t get Camelot with that answer.
-Regina not wanting to see Henry. Um, that is really out of character.
-Rumple and Belle in the shop cataloging on their honeymoon. Oh and look the necklace picture is right there.Better than last but still a long way to go.
October 5, 2014 at 11:04 pm #284426AmdillaeParticipantNormally I don’t post to the moments thread but this episode has made we want to.
Firstly I am echoing RG, what is earth is the point and logic behind Bo Peep? ‘The most powerful warlord around’, I am sure that Rumple is thrilled with the downgrade to be under a power mad freak with a crook (which she didn’t even mention by name). The grating British accent has be presuming she is going to some how be our link to getting Will Scarlett back on deck and if that is the case I may be able to stop hating her existance.
However the sequence/s in the cave with Elsa and Emma were so heartwarming and how can you not love that Anna was the inspiration to create the Charming we now have.

I loved this episode! The Frozen characters fit in so well with the main cast. Snow and company were quite funny as the comic relief. Bo Peep cracked me up- over the top and ridiculous, sure, but a fun twist on the character. The emotional arc with Emma and Elsa was great- the way they bonded was so well done. Their scenes together were my favorite.
Oh! Emma called David Dad again- yay!
If I have to say something negative, yeah- I do wish they had a better story for David’s father. Alcoholic is so over done and not very creative- just a throw away explanation- but overall that’s a minor quibble and didn’t affect my enjoyment of the episode.
And okay- David picked up the sword fighting really fast…unrealistically so.
I thought it made sense that Regina didn’t want to see Henry…she’s depressed. It’s common for depressed people to push away those they love. Plus, she knows that Emma and the others will take care of him so it’s not as if she’s abandoning him. She just wanted some time to herself.
October 6, 2014 at 1:54 am #284448PheeParticipantI liked the idea of warlord Bo Peep more than the execution. The way she “branded” people just seemed not that warlordy. They shoulda gone all out and had her magic be a thing that could brainwash people so they didn’t question what she did and blindly followed her, thereby becoming her “sheep”.
October 6, 2014 at 2:03 am #284449sweetgrassParticipantI liked this episode alot. I really like the Frozen characters. I think that they breathe new life into all the other characters. I really liked the Charming Anna backstory. I not entirely sure it fits previous cannon, but it was great to see David become a hero. I like that they are fleshing him out. Josh does a great job as Charming. His father’s alcoholism might further explain why he doesn’t like Hook. I love the way Josh Dallas sword fights. There is a lot of energy and beauty in his movement.
Last week I didn’t like the Captain Swan scenes. This week I liked them. I liked that Hook stated that what they become is up to him and Emma. He really seemed desperate when Emma was dying. I liked how he was trying to dig her out even thought it was impossible. To me that is human. Hook is not afraid of the impossible fight. I just hope he gets to win some of those fights. I liked how they held hands together. I liked how Emma hugged him. The only thing I would change is that I would have had Hook put his coat on her.
I like Grumpy in all his scenes. I like that they went to Snow and let her know she needed to lead. It was her curse.
I liked Bo-Peep. She had a Ma Barker vibe. It was cool. I like that she was a butcher who sold lamb chops.
Everyone including from Jared to Frozen actors did a great job.
Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.
October 6, 2014 at 2:46 am #284451GaultheriaParticipantI’ve just finished watching Game of Thrones season one, and there seemed to be a bunch of references in this episode:
* Messenger corvids.
* The evil witch of the lamb people.
* Long-haired hero guy (a bit generic, but why give him long hair now?).
* Big. Ice. Wall.
* “Who wants some milk from Mama Mayor?”Gaultheria's fanvids: http://youtube.com/sagethrasher
