I think the sacrifice will be the key in the end to reach her happy ending.

November 6, 2014 at 5:39 pm #289261PriceofMagicParticipantI like Robin less and less with each episode. Regina I am starting to like again.
Robin seems very unfeeling towards Marian in this sneak peek. The way he says “because it’s the right thing to do?” seems quite cynical. I don’t blame Regina for answering back with “because she’s your wife!” Considering that was the answer he gave Regina for choosing Marian over her, it seems odd he’s still not in the “she’s my wife” mind frame.
I really don’t like what they’re doing to Robin. It’s like he’s now crawling back to Regina because his first choice didn’t work out. Regina deserves better than that.
I used to want Marian and Robin to stay together but now I think Marian should leave him, she deserves better. I still can’t ship OQ. Regina murdering Marian originally is now one of the lesser reasons why.
Robin chose Marian over Regina despite not loving Marian anymore because he “made a vow” resulting in breaking Regina’s heart. Marian gets frozen and Regina tells him where to go, now Robin is all “I love you Regina” and seems like he couldn’t care less whether or not Marian remains frozen so long as he get his leg over with Regina.
Regina needs a guy who makes her his first choice not his second. She needs a guy who doesn’t come back sniffing around because the other woman didn’t work out for him. Honestly why did Robin go to the woman he rejected to help fix the problem with the woman he chose over her? Why didn’t he at least try Rumple? Lastly, Regina doesn’t “need” a man because she’s her own independent person but if she wants one than she should go for it so long as it isn’t a douchebag like Robin.
OQ has got to be one of the least healthiest relationships on the show, especially for Regina. How can such a strong, independent woman allow herself to be treated like dirt and be totally okay with it?

Keeper of FelixNovember 6, 2014 at 7:44 pm #289288SlurpeezParticipantI don’t think OQ can have a future anymore, unless the past gets rewritten again. Robin went from risking his life to save Marian and their unborn child in S2 to saying he’d do anything to get her back to not even wanting to try and save her–the mother of his child?! And worse, he has the nerve to try and make Regina into the other woman after she clearly told him there was nothing she could do. At this point, I think Regina would almost be better off erasing Robin Hood’s memory of her so he can save Marian. She could likewise remove her memory of him, too. Then maybe she could have a chance of meeting someone whose wife isn’t “in the way” (what a horrible view of marriage vows).

In a later scene we saw Robin’s lion tattoo when he handed a drink to Mulan. We made the assumption that Robin was the man in the pub. But, what if the man in the pub was someone else. A different guy with the same lion tattoo.
Plus, I assume that Regina will continue her journey to finding the author of the book. She’s learned that she can love again, and be loved. Hopefully her passion will still include finding her happy ending, but with someone other than Robin.

There was a TVLine article awhile back where they confirmed that it was Robin in the pub.

The old Regina would be taking advantage of the situation by letting Marian die, so that she and Robin can be together. But no, Regina has developed as a character and wants to let Marian live because she knows she is still important to Robin. Marian is still Robin’s wife, and Outlaw Queen does not erase Robin and Marian’s past as lovers. So it’s interesting now that all of a sudden it’s Robin being criticized by the fandom for making the wrong decisions, and not Regina.

This sounds very selfless to me. Very..noble? She is sacrificing her own happiness for someone else’s. It’d be a very heroic thing to do. But then again, I wonder…. Would that be fair to Robin? It’s almost as if she is taking away his thoughts on the matter, forcing him to chose his wife by taking herself out of the equation. Something to think about.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they retconned it. Plus, I could actually believe that they would say it was Robin in order to conceal the fact that they were intending this huge plot twist where we find out it wasn’t. If they were all shady about it or didn’t directly answer the question, we would know it wasn’t Robin from the start. So yeah, I could actually believe Robin isn’t the guy.

Indeed, but couldn’t they find a way to build her character up without destroying Robin in the process? There was a time he risked his life to save Marian, he freaking stole from the freaking Dark One. But now he’s pouting and whining and coming across as weak and he’s not willing to do a hard thing to try and save her life. If this is the writing that results when you dump pixie dust on the page then it’s pretty nasty stuff.

She’d essentially be stripping Robin of his agency, and that’s not preferable. But if he doesn’t leave her the frick alone soon this is one instance when I couldn’t really blame her if she snapped and zapped his memories if only to shut him up. 😛
But yes, in a way I think I could actually accept her doing it in the sense that it would be a massively selfless act. Finding someone to love her like that is a thing she’s waited a long time for and she didn’t believe it’d ever happen, so willfully giving it up is no small thing. If the truth came out after Marian is saved, the fact that Regina sacrificed her shot at love in order to save Marian’s life could be a big enough deal for Marian to forgive her for having ordered her killed previously. It could even potentially pave the way for an amicable separation between her and Robin, which could pave the way for him and Regina getting back together.
I just don’t like what they’re doing to his character in the process, because the way he’s carrying on, Regina should be with someone stronger than that.

Yeah, well there was also a podcast where both Adam and Eddie told the story of Rumple watching his father get killed in the middle of the night. They even quoted parts if Rumple’s dialog with his father. That story was obviously changed to a cooler papa story, that of Peter Pan.
So, at times, I don’t believe it till I see it. They can change the stories whenever it fits the newest vision of new story lines.

Believe me, I get that. I know all of this. I’m just pointing out that if they do, it’s an utter retcon
