For me, marriage is a sacred thing…so ending it lightly, most especially when kids are involved, doesn’t fly with me. Having Robin or Marian leave the marriage just because of Tink’s little prophecy would be awful. Having Marian die to make OQ work would be worse, regardless of how it happens. I just can’t see OQ working in a way that I would feel good about at this point. But I think that Regina can emerge from this heartbreak a stronger, more heroic person. And just because RH is or was her soulmate doesn’t mean that he’s the ONLY true love she could have. He’s already the second man she’s truly loved, so that right there says that there is more than once chance for her. Maybe Little John?
Well since we’re being open and honest here….I don’t really have the highest hope for Rumbelle working out in the end. Rumple went into his marriage with a lie, and piled up the lies even afterward, and he’s already on Strike II with Belle because he keeps breaking his promises. When this secret comes out and blows up in his face, it’s Strike III, Rumple’s out! And frankly…I was worried about Belle controlling Rumple, we all know he doesn’t like that….he killed his first wife, his ex true love Cora, and student Zelena. And at the rate he’s going….can’t really put much past Mr. Stilskin.
Indeed Marriage is a sacred thing, but it can not be one sided affections! It’s unfair to Marian for Robin to be with her only out of honor, don’t you think? He loves Regina, and the sooner she realizes and accepts that…the better! If she truly loves Robin Hood, she’ll be like Regina, and want what’s best for him…and if that means letting him go, then so be it.
And little prophecy….ummm….yeah, OutlawQueen was prophesied! It’s going to happen one way or another, Marian or no Marian….and technically, OutlawQueen was supposed to happen even before Robin met Marian, Fate is just realigning OutlawQueen’s tale.
And to @PanTheMan….that was brilliantly said! PREACH!

November 7, 2014 at 12:45 pm #289376KebParticipantWhat if love isn’t just something that’s either there or not there? What if it’s something that’s built over time? We saw that with Henry & Emma in S1–TLK certainly wouldn’t have worked between them in October, 2011, but it did about six months later when she broke the curse. Maybe sometimes there’s an instant feeling of connection…but it takes work and effort. If Robin was willing to work on his marriage (granted, harder with Marian in a block of ice), he could fall back in love with his wife. But to do that, he has to let go of Regina.
As for Rumbelle…their love has been built up over a long time (most of it sadly separated). The lies are going to be a BIG issue. But if any pair is willing to work to make love work, it’s Rumple (the man who sought his son for centuries just to apologize) and Belle (who has forgiven or deluded herself over just about every crime she knows Rumple’s committed and loves even the parts that belong to the darkness). That’s what might save them both in the end, but yeah, for it to work, Rumple’s gonna have to truly trust Belle and regain her trust in return–and that’s going to hurt like heck.
But at least Rumple doesn’t cheat. (Unlike his first wife.)

Yep! Emma/Elsa shippers are gonna love this scene.

"there’s lesbians in it"November 7, 2014 at 12:54 pm #289378KebParticipantWonder who taught them that spell, Rumple or Regina. (Or someone else????)
Rumple’s got his own reasons for not wanting to stop DQ right away (dangit, Once, what are they?) but he might help capture her, especially after warning her not to hurt those he cares about (it was plural!!!!). Especially if it gives him more leverage to get what HE wants.
Regina, meanwhile, has been in her little post-break-up funk and we even have a scene showing her still moping in her vault. So…I dunno, betting on that being a Rumple spell.

I have the feeling Rumple wants the Snow Queen to antagonize Emma. Why? Because Rumple wants Emma to come to him to remove her magic. Why? Because if Rumple can harness Emma’s true love magic, the most powerful magic of all, he can do anything (namely, free himself from the control of the dark one dagger while maintaining his own dark magic).

November 7, 2014 at 3:18 pm #289398KebParticipantI still wanna see Belle get to know Roland. She did make it possible for him to be born, after all.
But she hasn’t even ever spoken to Henry on screen and she’s his grandmother by marriage now. So.

This sounds very selfless to me. Very..noble? She is sacrificing her own happiness for someone else’s. It’d be a very heroic thing to do. But then again, I wonder…. Would that be fair to Robin? It’s almost as if she is taking away his thoughts on the matter, forcing him to chose his wife by taking herself out of the equation. Something to think about.
If Regina removed Robin’s memories of her by force, then I’d agree that it would be taking his choice away. If, however, Regina were to offer Robin the chance of saving Marian for the sake of Roland, however, and the only way to that were by offering him a forgetting potion, well then I’d say it’d be fair to Robin. By offering Robin the choice of whether or not to drink a forgetting potion, it would respect Robin’s autonomy and freedom of choice. In marriage, the best advice I’ve heard is that “love is a choice, not just a feeling.” If Robin chooses to save his wife by choosing to love her again, then I’d say that it would be a positive message about love and marriage.
Also, by Regina offering to take away Robin’s memories of herself, it would show her to have made real, honest-to-goodness change and would be consistent with her redemptive arc. It would also reinforce the message that “love is sacrifice”–just as Mulan sacrificed her feelings for Aurora so that Aurora and Philip’s marriage could have a fighting chance. It was a testament of Mulan’s strength of character. Speaking of Mulan, where is she? She’s supposed to be amongst the merry men, but I haven’t seen her. I’d like to see Mulan and Robin Hood have a talk about honor, love, and sacrifice.
