This is a new idea I want to try out. As a forum, we’ve all reviewed and critically analyzed these episodes. However, I think it would be fascinating to take a closer look at how professional reviewers are critiquing these episodes. The more professional reviews we roundup together would also mean a clearer view of the overall reception from these professional reviewers. Note, some of these are more recaps than reviews, and don’t have a rated score. So starting off, here are the professional reviews for “Enter the Dragon.” If you notice any professional reviews missing, please post links. You’re also free to comment on any observations from these reviews.

Looks good. One caveat: the reviewer and review site having an agenda that might not come across in their reviews.

Professional TV reviews can be fans, that’s not a secret. Matt Mittovich, Natalie Abrams…both fans and both people who watch and review/recap the show. However, it behooves us to remember that they work for internet sites that live and die with ad money. The more eyeballs on screen, the more ad money. On top of this, the big hitters–TVLine, E!, EW–need to keep a professional and friendly working relationship with A and E and ABC. Thus, their reviews or recaps might be more vague and not necessarily actually critique an episode as much as the individual reviewer would like.

This is why I prefer fan reviews because fans wont hedge their bets since they have no relationship with ABC or A and E outside of a fan/showrunner one which isn’t the same as professional/showrunner
