I don’t think so. I think they just want us to understand that Black is more powerful than Blue and leave it at that. Which is possibly thematically problematic if Black is really the incarnation of all the evil in the universe.

See I still think we may see it. I just can’t remember a fight between characters that ended up occurring off screen on this show before. I mean I’m sure there have been…. Especially when the result was huge (in this case, Black stealing Gideon).
To me, that’s way different than using Rumple to get him to open the portal to the UW. And she only used Rumple bc he was being a jerk and refused to do it willingly. He could have just done her a solid when she asked him the first time nicely. To me, this has literally nothing to do with Belle.
So you’re ignoring what Dark Swan did to a powerless Rumple during 5A, including nearly killing Belle with the Merida bear, and saying Rumple is at fault for not jumping to help Emma just because she demands it? You’re saying Rumple should risk his life for a man he hates just because Emma demands it?
Let’s say you find out one of your best friends is getting cheated on by their significant other, and your friend doesn’t know, but you do. Is it your responsibility to tell your friend? My answer would be depends on how close you are to the friend.
My answer would be yes, you tell them. If you’re close enough to consider them a friend, you tell them because that is what friends do. They look out for each other. Emma does not give a crap about Belle at all unless she is useful because Emma wants something.
Belle is not even close to the same level as Charming is in relation to Emma. It makes sense that she would feel compelled to tell her father the secret bc A. it’s her father and B. her bf did it. Why does she need to tell Belle anything. It’s not her place to do that. And if you want to argue that Emma was being selfish by using Rumple against Belle, then that’s fair. I agree. But perhaps Rumple should have been a nice person and helped her before he was stuck in a corner.
So Rumple should just go running when Emma clicks her fingers? He shouldn’t feel annoyed about the things he’s been put through and the rest of the “heroes” turning a blind eye?
Season 6 Emma is a control freak and she is actually trying to control Hook eg forcing him to propose after she went rifling through his things to find the ring.

So I treat Dark Swan the same way I treat Dark Hook. I don’t hold the actions against them bc the darkness was trying to control them. So in this case, that was not the Emma we know who tried to kill Belle with the Merida Bear. And Rumple wasn’t risking anything. He just needed to drop some of his blood into the water to create a portal. He just didn’t want to do it.

Exactly. Precisely why it’s not Emma’s job to tell Belle that her husband to back the DO power. Belle is not really a close friend to Emma. It’s not like her father, or Hook, or Snow, or Henry, or Regina. The fact that she doesn’t care about Belle is precisely why she doesn’t need to tell her anything. She’s not “using” somebody she’s barely friends with. She’s using her husband to get him to do a simple task with zero life risk.

He should absolutely feel annoyed. But him of all people should understand what darkness does to people. And Emma came to him when she no longer had the darkness inside her. He should have recognized that and helped her without Emma needing to blackmail him.
Forget the fact that Belle is an innocent person, and Emma should care about those because she the savior and all. Belle helped her with Zelena, she went to Camelot in order to help her, she babysits Neal, she even babysits him when they decided to go to that family vacation in the Underworld, so yeah she deserves much more from Emma and Snow and the rest of them…

I think you need to re watch the scene not once does Emma ask Rumple to help her, she stated “Well now that you are the dark one again you are going to do something for me” he states “and why would I do anything for you” and she states “because I still have magic and I bet I can get to Belle before you can kill me” she then states that she is going to run to Belle and tell her before Rumple has a chance to.
To me, this has literally nothing to do with Belle. Let’s say you find out one of your best friends is getting cheated on by their significant other, and your friend doesn’t know, but you do. Is it your responsibility to tell your friend? My answer would be depends on how close you are to the friend.
Maybe, I would debate that one, but you most definitely don’t go up to the cheating husband and state hey if you don’t do this for me right now I am going to RUN to your wife and tell her you are cheating. That most certainly is not being any kind of friend to the victim and in return Emma is USING Belle to get Rumple to do what she wants him to do. Also you are assuming that Rumple has no intention of telling Belle, which is wrong because he basically told her as soon as he saw her in the underworld. As far as we know Rumple would have confessed everything first thing in the morning, but he couldn’t because he needed to open a portal for Emma. Emma was not giving him this chance to tell her she was basically telling him you do this or I am telling your wife before you have a chance to. That is also USING Belle.
