Well Rumple prophesied she would return on her 28th birthday. So that was always going to happen.
Return = / = become the Savior. Rumple said that she wasn’t the Savior until her 28th. That’s not true.
Snowing wanted their daughter to live happily ever after with her true love, like they did for years. It was them sacrificing their happiness for their daughters’ once again. Not sure why that needs rationalizing for you
Well if you read some other things I’ve said about this you’ll know that I said we needed a scene in which Emma has some internal angst over this. Because she has a baby brother who would grow up the way she did, which she would want to prevent, plus it means her parents–the people she searched for for over 30 years now–would fall into a forever coma. Like, I’m not asking for her to not go after Hook. I’m asking for her to be conflicted like any other human being.
I thought TIGER LILY ran in a different direction when HOOK & EMMA went through the door. I was under the impression she had her own agenda … maybe she wanted to go back to her people…………. Why would she want to go thru a door where she knows / has said their was a great evil and a war was going to begin?
That’s how I saw it as well. But nope, let’s Hook bash instead. It does come so naturally after all.
Okay I think the criticism I have in mind here is less about Tiger Lily running away and more about the fact that Hook nor Emma, if she saw Tiger Lily, mention her or even say something like “hopefully she got away” because the Lost Boys were seriously about to kill both her and Hook.
Y’know it just dawned on me…wasn’t Moe supposed to be in this episode? Looks like we got a cut Belle/Moe scene or a cut Rumbelle/Moe scene.
I think it would’ve been Mary Margaret buying the flowers at Moe’s shop.
Oh nice idea!

In for a penny, in for a pound. He could’ve taken the place of one of those two extras in the cup scene.
Say, was one of those extras the woman who posts behind-the-scenes info to Twitter?

I do not think you should pick on Emma for that top …. I have two of them like it …one in black the other in red.
It’s not the top, per se. It’s that Emma Swan would never wear those types of outfits and lately the show has been dressing her a certain way that can be read negatively. Clothing can always be read as a symbol in TV.
Emma was literally wearing a Peter Pan Collar! *facepalm*
How’s that for symbolism??

Rumple prophesied that she would return to break the curse on her 28th birthday, but nothing I’ve heard about this curse says she had to be exactly that age to break it. She was built into the curse as the product of the true love of her parents and I think she could’ve broken it at any time with true love’s kiss.
The real issue is how exactly ‘true love’s kiss’ works. We’ve seen all manner of curse breaking kisses most notably between Snow and Charming in The Pilot, Rumple and Belle in Skin Deep, and Emma and Henry in the season one finale. But we’ve also seen so many instances of it NOT working, I guess because one of the people in the kiss wasn’t in love at the time, that I still find it confusing and let’s not forget the stunning story of Hook’s dad being woken from a sleeping curse by an utter STRANGER who just happened to fall in love with his sleeping face. I mean I can sort of buy that some woman fell in love with a sleeping stranger, people fall in love with people they don’t really know all the time, but how could he possibly truly love her back if he was ASLEEP?
As nice as it was to re-visit curse era Storybrooke, I really think this is a plot that needed to be dropped. I’d much rather have seen them all work together to maybe trick The Black Fairy into helping them somehow break the double sleeping curse or maybe have everyone in town who are ‘true loves’ gather around the sleeping Charmings and true love kiss each other until the shockwaves woke them up. Hey it’s silly, but no sillier than having everyone drink a curse Regina made or found and have that somehow dilute the one the Charmings were already under.

FRANKLY I like the show as is … an occasionally bad episode that usually is better after another episode that clarifies things… it is just hard waiting for the clarification ….
