I am glad that it is done though and that they are gone and were never confirmed true love’s
They were confirmed true love three times on the show…
[adrotate group="5"]October 13, 2017 at 11:52 pm #343228hjbauParticipantThey were not confirmed to be true love’s on the show ever, but you are not going to change my mind and i am not going to change your mind, so let’s just let that be.

It isn’t a matter of opinion. It was said on the show multiple times, and stated. Whether you choose to accept it or not is up to you.
October 14, 2017 at 2:22 am #343241TheWatcherParticipantYeah, I’m glad this mess that was CS is finally over but they are still trying to cram half witted plots for Hook down our necks so I guess that’s here to stay.
All in all this episodes real world stuff was VERY interesting but the FTL stuff was just blah.
Emma had no reason to be there. Her wig needs to just not be here. Tremaine is still awesome. Weaver is giving me life. Hook really just needs to exit the show, it’s been done for him since season 3 and yet here we still are. Henry, Cinderella, Lucy, I just love them! Can’t wait to see more.
But yeah that’s basically it. I don’t think this episode was a good follow up to last weeks, which I think was one of the best in OUATs entire run. This was just okay. Not bad. Not great. Barely good.
Also this mess with WishRealm Hook is dumb and it seems to me the writers are trying to pander instead of just letting Jook go after ending his tale and literally having nothing for him to do anymore. I just cannot.

So how the heck are we using it once again here?
You can watch OUAT S7 without watching OUAT S1-S6 we say this as we introduce a main character for this new season as one from a S6 episode, lol. They just need to stop talking.
Stop saying Wish Realm is not real. Cause if so Regina murdered WR Snowing, why isn’t that brought up? Why isn’t the WR Henry whom is an orphan and if he wants to kill Regina he literally has all the right too is told he isn’t real? But WR Hook is? It’s just so dumb and convoluted.
You can tell how JMO not coming back for S7 as a regular royally effed their plan.
October 14, 2017 at 3:07 am #343246PheeParticipant–No one ever needs reminding that the WishRealm was a thing.
As entertaining as I found WishRealmHook in all his glory, (you can tell how much fun Colin has with that character), sweet baby Jesus why did we really need to bring up the nonsensical WishRealm again?! It makes my head hurt and it needs to not have ever been a thing.
Weaver/Rumple: I am totally getting a season 1 feel from him, which is why I loved him in the first place. I am pretty sure his awake and knows exactly what he is doing. Robert Carlyle is just an outstanding actor and fun to watch.
I am here for Weaver/Rumple and the ambiguity of whether he’s good or bad or in between. And Bobby Carlyle is fantastic…but the new voice he’s doing for Weaver is taking some getting used to. I get why Bobby made the choice to do a different voice for him, it makes sense, it’s just kinda throwing me off at the moment…which I guess is maybe part of what he’s trying to do by altering his voice, and making us question who this Weaver guy is…so maybe I’m reacting in just the right way that Bobby was hoping for…it’s just kinda weird for me right now and it takes me out of the scene sometimes.
– Andrew J. West is doing a phenomenal job as Henry in my opinion. He has Henry’s mannerisms down pat and he’s even more likable.
By the end of S6 I’d come to be not that interested in or connected to Henry at all. But now I find myself genuinely caring about the character and wanting to cheer him on. So well played Andrew J West, you won me over.
And I totally forgot, what’s up with all the magic beans?
Everyone has beans now and can make portals whenever. Except for Henry, who has to wait until a certain time for a portal to somehow open on its own so he can pop through.
October 14, 2017 at 4:49 am #343248GrimScytheParticipantAlright, I will be the first to admit that I was wrong about this episode. (So there, now nobody can say that I post crap and never admit when I’m wrong.) Anyway, I was absolutely dreading that this episode would be filled left, right, and center with nothing but CS stuff from beginning to end. So I applaud Adam & Eddy for resisting the urge to plaster the entire 42 minutes with CS stuff. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Regina *(I’m just going to call her Regina, because to me she will always be Regina)* actually got a decent amount of screen time this episode. Sure, it wasn’t as much as she usually gets, but it was a MASSIVE improvement from last week’s episode. After seeing all the promos, leaks, sneak peeks, images, social media stuff, etc. I was convinced that Regina would hardly get any screen time this episode, because that’s what it looked it. I’m glad I was proven wrong. Her screen time for this episode was good enough to keep me watching. (For now.)
OK, the thing with Hook. I know a lot of people are not happy with the route they took with Hook. But it is actually the best thing they could have done. I am not the most educated person around, and I don’t really know how TV contracts work, but from what I understand they pretty much HAD to use Colin in this season, because he still had one year left on his contract. (He only joined the show in season 2 and got the same six year deal as all of the other main cast members.) So they couldn’t have left him out of this season even they wanted to. Now, before this episode aired I saw some really wild theories about Hook. Some were saying it’s Hook from the future who found a way to time-travel. Some were saying Hook found a way to clone himself. Some were saying it is an impostor using a glamour spell. Compared to those ideas the WishRealm Hook idea really is the better option. I know it’s not ideal, but the time-traveling thing and the clone thing and impostor thing would have been a million times worse. So basically we ended up with the best of a bad choice. So that’s something.
Overall the episode was not bad. It was not fantastic, but it was not bad. Because of this, and because Regina did not get totally screwed with screen time, I am willing to keep watching, for now. (Yes, I know, I’m biased. But she is my favorite character. Can you really blame me? I’m sure all of you want to see more of your favorites as well.)
Here are the things that bothered me about the episode:
-What is going on with the timeline? If anybody can present some kind of explanation I would really appreciate that. First, Adam & Eddy have said that the present day stuff takes place in 2017. Then we have the flashback stuff, where Henry is clearly much older than he was when he left home, and yet Regina, Hook, and Emma haven’t aged a day. (Note that in these flashback scenes Henry doesn’t have a daughter yet.) What is even more confusing, is that in present day stuff Henry has a 10 year old daughter, which would indicate that the present day Hyperion Heights stuff takes place at least 10 years after the Enchanted Forest 2.0 flashback stuff. But how is that possible? That would mean the flashback stuff takes place in 2007. Which is not possible, because that’s even before Henry was born. Add to that the fact that in the present day Hyperion Heights stuff Regina, Rumple, WishRealm Hook, and even Henry don’t look a day older than they did in the Enchanted Forest 2.0 flashback stuff. So… what on earth is going on here??? And the fact that they still haven’t explained this, or that the characters themselves don’t even acknowledge this just annoys me to no end. And neither Regina nor Hook seem too surprised to see how much Henry has aged, and in turn he doesn’t seem at all surprised that they don’t look a day older than what he last saw them. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!?!?!?!?!
-The reunion between Regina and Henry in Enchanted Forest 2.0. While I did love seeing the reunion between them it was way too short. They really should have extended that scene.
-No dialogue at all between Regina and Emma. WHAT IN THE HELL??????
-(Some people are going to hate me for saying this), but Gabrielle Anwar’s performance as Lady Tremaine still sucks. The less we get to see of her the better this season will be. (And what is going on with Gabrielle Anwar’s face? She has no facial expressions at all. She’s like a mannequin.) Lucy was actually much better in this episode than she was in the premiere. Let’s hope she can keep that up. Dania Ramerez was still a bad choice for Cinderella. She just doesn’t fit the part.
-Something seems very off about the way Robert Carlyle delivers his lines this season. It’s almost like he’s just rushing through his script as fast as he can. I don’t know how to explain it, something is just very off about the way he is delivering his lines. And he has this almost vacant look on his face for most of his scenes.
-A lot of the stuff in this episode just felt so rushed. I really hope that from episode 3 and onward they slow down, just a little. It definitely felt like they tried to cram too much into this episode. More so than the premiere. They really just need to slow down a little. (Though don’t slow down so much that it becomes boring.) I think that 42 minutes a episode just isn’t enough for what they are trying to do this season. They definitely need to address this, otherwise all of the episodes will end up feeling rushed.
-Now all of a sudden magic works differently in Enchanted Forest 2.0, and because of that Regina is having problems with her magic? I really hope that gets sorted out soon. What’s the point of a magic based show if “due to (lazy) plot reasons” the characters can’t do magic? I really hope Regina gets her magic working (in the Enchanted Forest 2.0) again soon.
As I said, for the time being I’ll keep watching. However, we, (the fans), really need to get into contact with Adam & Eddy, over social media or where ever, and let them know that the timeline stuff and no aging stuff needs to be explained, ASAP. I also think it’s about time this new curse and its dynamics are explained. (I’m also STILL waiting for an explanation as to how Victoria can just take Lucy away from Jacinda like that.) And, correct me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t Henry be able to report Weaver for police brutality for that unprovoked elbow to the face? In front of several witnesses no less. That crap would NOT fly in real life. People would be up in arms real quick, and Weaver would be thrown off the force faster than you can say “Gold Spinner”.
I’m about to make yet another unpopular statement, so brace yourself. I’m glad this episode is out of the way, and that the Emma stuff is over and done with. It was getting really annoying that they kept pandering to a character who isn’t even in the show any more. Hopefully they can now put all that CS stuff behind them, and focus on really getting this new season (and new story) started for real. Perhaps even focus on providing some much needed explanations as to what the bloody hell is going on with the timeline. And maybe giving us some PROPER Regina & Henry reunion scenes, that last for more than 2 seconds.
One final note: I hope to all that is holy that they are NOT going to make WishRealm Hook be Regina’s new love interest. Please, PLEASE don’t do that.
Anyway, sorry for the wall of text, but thanks for reading, (and putting up with my complaints). 🙂 Onward, to next week’s episode…

They’ve been quoted in a recent article saying that it will all make sense by the end of the season (although I fear that for a lot of people, that will be too late).

LIKES
-Colin’s acting for Fat!Hook. Made me laugh
-Regina deciding to stay in the new version of FTL…can’t wait to see her adventures, which might involve being a pirate or dressing up to pass as the Evil Queen.
-I am okay with the Hook in Hyperion Heights being Wish Realm/Ex-Fat! Hook. I think the writers were left with very little choice seeing as JMo left the show.
DISLIKES
-Can’t feel any chemistry between adult Henry and Cinderella (present day)
-That message-in-a-bottle would have been useful in past adventures perhaps.
-The sequencing editing in the last 1o seconds after they said to cheers to their new plan, showing each of their facial expressions as they took a drink. Very amateur, cheesy and unnecessary.
-Lots of mumbling from most of the cast members. Had to re watch several scenes to follow what they were saying
-Still can’t understand Cinderella’s accent. Maybe because I live in East Asia so I haven’t heard it regularly for 15 years.
-Still unsure of who the main hero is. I guess it could be Henry if he is only responsible for being the author of Emma and Regina’s version of events, freeing him to influence events in other realms and stories.
-Still unsure of what the main villain’s motivations are for casting the curse.
-So confused about how time works LWM vs this new realm. Regina, Original Hook and Emma, and Henry now all look the same age, no one is surprised by this and Emma is able to get pregnant. The average age for menopause is 48-52. Henry looks 30-35 putting Emma in the age-range for menopause.
Fat!Hook’s daughter is Alice????

True, they really had no options that would actually make sense. As annoyed as I am by the ridiculousness of how we got to this place, I am frankly glad to have a NewHook.
Back in S2, when he first showed up, I liked the character. He seemed complex, and dark, and flawed, with an emotionally charged history with Rumple and Bae, and I was looking forward to what they were gonna do with him. Then they ended up ignoring his darker elements so they could simplify him into a woobie puppy who followed the female lead around. They barely even gave him anything to do in Neverland. Captain Hook was given barely any story when they spent half a freaking season in Neverland!!! As with SO MANY characters and stories and elements in this show, they squandered a great opportunity to do something really interesting.
So now we have NewHook, who said that his story was the same as the Hook we knew, up until the point where in his realm Regina’s Curse didn’t happen. They’ve basically hit the re-set button on Hook. All that history with Rumple, all his time in Neverland, apparently still happened, but we’re getting a do-over from the time of the Curse. And as someone who was underwhelmed by their first attempt at the character, I’m actually curious to see if they have something more interesting planned this time around.
