Robin and Alice are the absolute best thing about this entire season. They are a ship that will live on in OUAT lore as one of its best.
Yeah. 🙂

Liked:
The curse is broken!  Hallelujah!  And of course it had to be Henry kissing Regina. It makes perfect sense since it’s always the mother/son bond. This was the only one we hadn’t seen in the combo.
Mystery of where Henry got the bean is solved. Graduation gift from Tiny. I’m assuming this means that the beans are back and that how travel between realms has been so easy.
All the young Henry and Regina scenes were just so spot on!  God I’ve missed them together.
I like how Rogers believed without having to be woken up. And loved Weaver calling him Captain. That’s a lot of growth there.
Wish Realm Rumplestiltskin!
Mixed:
Storybrook has a college? Â Since when? Â And who would go there besides Storybrook kids?
How did Henry’s belief bottom out so fast after last week?  He was all gung-ho about believing Lucy and the curse and made a mystery board, and then it was just gone?
Not only did Margot not find the witch coven weird, she had almost no reaction to the witches turning into trees and being shrunk. I think that would’ve warranted a little bit of a freak out.
Disliked:
I get that Jennifer Morrison wasn’t here for this episode, but did they really expect us to believe that Emma wouldn’t be part of Henry’s decision making process?
So we did the time travel thing?  I wonder how this will be reconciled?  Can they go back to their own time?  This still doesn’t answer why Henry has aged and Regina still looks the same.
As much as I don’t care about them, I would’ve liked to have seen Jacinda and Sabine’s reactions to the curse being broken.
Both Gothel and Facilier are gone?  We never got any reason why Facilier wanted the dagger or why Gothel was looking for the Guardian (although I’m assuming Facilier wanted to become the Dark One and Gothel needed some white magic for her spell). So really, what was the point of either of them?  And will Regina care that Facilier is dead?
I can’t wait for the final two episodes!  If only all of this season had been as good as this episode.

May 5, 2018 at 6:57 pm #347118WickedRegalParticipantI cried….cried more times than I have in a long time with OUAT. This episode hit me in all of my feels, and overall was just the best episode of the season! This episode reminded me what OUAT used to be before ship wars, terrible writing choices, and any other disaster that happened over the last seven years…..this was a love letter to OUAT in it’s prime, when it was at it’s absolute best!
Rating: 10/10
Liked:
The nostalgia hit me in so many waves, it was uncontrollable! Even when Regina was doing Henry’s height and we see all the way from where he began up till this point….we watched Jared Gilmore grow up before our very eyes and his return was much needed and just beautiful!
Seeing the full circle and total redemption Rumplestilskin has made has been the highlight of this season, but this episode just really reinforced that our imp has changed for the better! His willingness to help his family, even Hook, without expecting anything in return made me all the more proud!
Alice and Robyn were so cute, adorable, precious, and just the best written love story of Season 7! I wish we could’ve seen more of these two!
Alice, when I tell you that Alice was the best addition to Season 7….i mean that with everything in my heart! And her speech to Gothel was just like so Golden Days OUAT that I shed a tear! Her “I choose love” was spoken with such conviction and clarity, that Rose Reynolds really sold this character and her story! Geez, I wish there was so much more of Alice to see!!! And her and Hook….I’m just gonna be honest, I think this is some of Hook’s best storyline wise!
So long Mother Gothel, no one will miss you dearie!
Now for RegalBeliever….everyone knows that for the past seven years, I’ve been moved to the moon and back over Regina and Henry, but this episode made me ugly cry for them! Even though there were two Henrys, I barely noticed a difference between Jared and Andrew with Lana because the three of them sold this mother and son centered episode like it was worth a billion dollars!
People may and definitely will disagree with me on this, but Emma is true in fact Henry’s biological mother and the two have shared some wonderful times together in the eight years she’s known him…..but Regina is without a doubt, Henry’s mom! I cried and cried and cried during this episode because I remembered how far they’ve come, and to see this level of unconditional love, moves me incredibly! Even Regina’s willingness to let Henry leave out of Storybrooke, or even the realm to find himself moved me! Out of the entire series, this mother and son duo will always be my favorite thing and the one thing I’ll truly miss once the series is over.
“I remember everything you taught me….” yep….that line did it for me! RegalBeliever always and forever!
Disliked:
A bit iffy on this timeline, but too emotional to really care.
Why was Dr. Facilier any sort of a threat again….what was his goal?!!!

I wish there had been a throw away line or throw away action to recognize Emma. Like we see Henry waving from Regina’s house as the yellow bug pulls away. We don’t need JMo to drive the bug.

This really made me laugh. I hadn’t thought of it like that, but it’s so true. Tiny basically gives Henry a one way ticket out of town with no sure way back. 🙂

It should have happened in the fifth episode of the season, but these writers are terrible. I liked the curse breaking scene. Alice and Robyn reuniting was great. They had multiple nice moments.
The flashback scenes with Regina just did not work for me. Henry living with Regina is ridiculous. Emma not being mentioned or part of those scenes does not work. Regina giving him her car is ridiculous. They have never passed the place where it is reasonable that Regina be allowed around a child. I know that people like that and they rewrote Regina over the seasons to make her a new character, and i like that character and how she interacts with the world and the adults. That doesn’t change what she has done in the past to Henry and to other children, so pretending that she is a reasonable person to help raise a child is still a no for me. Especially, in light of what this show could have been if they thought about anything and really worked Regina through all that stuff instead of just rewriting her and pretending that stuff didn’t happen.
I liked that most of the nonsense was over in this episode. Like Gothel, Facilier, and the witches.
Rumpel deciding not to kill was good. I liked the idea of the crazy Rumpel. This could give Rumpel a way to talk about all of his mistakes and the evil he did in his attempts to find Bae, but i am not sure that the writers get all that or get what makes sense in this situation. They have made it too much about doing right to get to be with Belle. That is all stupid and repetitive and Rumpel should do the right thing because it is worth doing and not just to get something out of it. It is what it is though and enough of a reason and deus ex machina way to destroy the dark one curse.

Regina and Emma have been sharing custody of Henry since season 4, after Emma decided to stay and Henry got his memories back. He lives with Regina during the whole Dark Swan time as well. Regina has certainly proved herself to be a great mother to Henry over time. And Henry has told her on many occasions that he loves her and appreciates her as his mother. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t have wanted her to stay with him in the EF 2.0. Also, Emma was mentioned briefly, but I feel like Henry is giving the newlywed couple (even though it’s been a year at this point) some space, and that’s why he’s mainly at Regina’s.
As for Rumple vs Wish Rumple, if the writers play this out right, it could be really good. Here we have a Rumplestiltskin who never got to reunite with Bae or with Belle so he really has nothing but revenge in his heart. He has no one to see the good in him. And a villain with nothing to lose is a very dangerous villain.
May 15, 2018 at 8:06 am #347339hjbauParticipantIn my opinion, Regina abused and neglected Henry and she has no business raising him. The writers may have rewritten Regina sometime during Season 2 and then again during Season 3 and said that it is okay, but they never showed it.
Regina has never been shown to be a good mother. The writers just have characters say it. It is unearned. If anything, Henry is constantly in the early seasons trying to stop Regina from killing his family members.
I like the new Regina that they are writing now after they rewrote the character, but there is very little relation between that character and the original murdering abusive psychopath in the early seasons. The writers want us to forget about that and most of the time i do because most of the time she isn’t around children, but then she is and i just can’t.
