Mr. Gold’s poor attitude is a mask for his fear, and Emma can see how out of his element Mr. Gold is. He’s never left SB since coming to our world, he’s never been so out of control or so “like everyone else” as Henry said since before he became the dark one. He was stumbling around without his cane for support or his magical scarf to preserve his identity. He’s terrified of losing his memory of Baelfire, and he’s come this close and traveled so far to get here. As soon as he sees Bae again, that mask he wears will fade before our eyes.

What Slurpeez said. 🙂 Let’s not forget, just a few “days” ago (in SB, at least) he thought he finally had it all: he was becoming a good man, he was going to find his son, and he and Belle were on a great track. And then…. *sob* I can’t fault him too much.
Can you imagine the ride home after they find Nealfire? Awkward.

Yes, I agree. It’s like magic being his crutch. Without those things, he fears he’ll revert to being called a coward by everyone again.
Thanks for posting the sneak peek, Vampirefan12. I love this scene so much! For me, it’s like a glimpse into the future of the Snowing/Rumbelle/Swanfire/Regina/Henry family would be like if they could all get along and set aside their differences for Henry’s sake. Henry is just too cute annoying his grandfather with thousands of questions, and Emma called Gold her “father” and helped him get through security. 😀
I really love the scene where Henry is playing 20 questions with Grandpapa Rumple.
