The mention of names meaning “Master” reminded me of something else. Did anybody else ever notice that the writing on the wall above Regina’s office says “Magister”? That’s Latin for “master” or “teacher” but I always found it odd that they used the masculine “Magister” instead of the feminine “Magistra”. Could there be any significance there?

Latin magister can be translated as teacher, master chief, head, superior, director. In late Roman Empire and Byzantine Empire the magister officiorum was a senior administrative official. You can still find that meaning in the term magistrate. Seeing that the door above which the word is written in Regina’s office leads out of her office think it’s not so much refering to Regina. Simple would say it tells, that behind the door is not a simple floor but the main office of town administration. Figuratively could be a hint that Regina is no master 😉

The first name that came to my mind was Reginald. No idea why. 😆 Than I thought maybe it’s something as common as John. Or something connected to mythology like Alberich (the name of the dwarf who guards the treasure of the Nibelungen). But I like the idea of Gold’s first name being Damien. Has a ring to it.

But I do wonder if they’ll give him the name “Adam”. It’s a nice normal name and was the little known name of the Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. They used Belle so maybe they’ll use Adam.

If they do end up using Adam, they’ll have to have a character named Eddy so our creators are equally represented. 😆

I completely forgot about Adam! How did I miss that. That would be so, cute 😳 I will completely lose it with the cuteness if that comes out to be the case. Awwwww….

I think Nicholas is a great choice too. I love SGU too, but this is not the only reason. Nicholas Flamel is known as alchemist in Wikipedia you can read:

Legendary accounts of Flamel’s life are based on seventeenth century works, primarily Livre des figures hiéroglyphiques. The essence of his reputation are claims that he succeeded at the two goals of alchemy: that he made the Philosopher’s Stone, which turns base metals into gold, and that he and his wife Perenelle achieved immortality through the “Elixir of Life”.

Immortal and gold making, that sounds familiar to me.

But the idea with Adam I like too. I am a huge Rumbelle shipper (and my name is Eva 😀 ), so I would love this name too.

If I had to guess a name though it would be Richard… Because, well let’s face it, he’s filthy rich and it is a royal name. Considering he and Regina are the Storybrook royalty, it fits

Or maybe it is Merlin… there have been a few nods to that ledgend already.

Did anybody notice that when Emma, Henry and Gold were sitting on the plane, their flight was announced as “Ajira”, though I did not catch the flight number. Yet another LOST reference. Love this show.

They said somewhere that Mr Gold doesn’t have a first name as a nod to the Rumplestiltskin story. I mean, he must have something on his drivers license, but I don’t think K&H have ever given him a first name, so I don’t think it’s something we’ll find out. I’ll look for a link to the interview they say that. I think it might have been on the podcast?
