So although I agree that I have seem numerous reasons to believe that August is Pinocchio, on this show I have come to realize if the evidence points to something – don’t look in that direction.
Unless maybe they KNOW that if they throw out obvious clues, people won’t take them seriously for that very reason, which will totally throw them off the scent because they SHOULD have taken it seriously after all. 😆 Basically, the writers just can’t be trusted. 😈

I suspect he was simultaneously unveiling how the writers of OUAT view their own approach to leading and misleading us.
April 3, 2012 at 2:51 pm #140786angiebelleParticipantI still think August is a grown up Pinocchio…he’s the only one with a plausible explanation for how he could have escaped the curse with knowledge of Emma and ended up in our world. Every other possibility would have to be a real stretch to make work. I doubt this is a case of them misleading us.
But I’ll tip my figurative hat to you if I’m wrong.

Also, Henry, who was born in Phoenix, AZ, is not under the power of the curse. Although he lives in SB, he was aging in a town where time stood still (until Emma started the clock again). Henry believes in magic, because of the book and because he is a child who was raised amongst fairy-tale characters (though most of them are cursed and don’t remember).
Do we know how old Henry was when Regina adopted him? Could he have aged outside of Storybrooke, then stopped aging once he came to Storybrooke? Just wondering.

So thanks for the indulgence.

We know he was put up for adoption right after he was born in jail. Pretty sure there was a scene where Regina did the whole, “I changed ever diaper, etc” speech to Emma to try and get her to back off coz she’s not his real mother, though I can’t for the life of me recall which ep it was in. And I’m also pretty sure that Horowitz/Kitsis have confirmed in interviews that Henry has in fact been the only person in town who has been aging for his whole life.

Although, we both concede that the most interesting character is Mr. Gold. So at least we agree on some things. I won’t lie, I like to boast when I’m right & I’m prone to do it online too, so fair warning. Other than that though, I’d like to say I have a pretty open mind with other peoples theories. But of course, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I liked my own the best.
But indulgence is key & I’m more than happy to indulge you and everyone else.
( Even if I won’t / don’t always agree with the logic behind some of these theories or the adamant want that some people display in regards to hoping/wishing something isn’t so. )April 3, 2012 at 9:20 pm #140836fairycutie86Participant@mia wrote:
His limp reminded me of a wooden leg
😆 Okay, that I like. I was reading through the comments and I believe slurpeez had a similar theory about August having a wooden leg and it would make sense for him to be Bae or even Pinocchio with the leg issue. I’m honestly all for either theory of him being one of those two characters. Then again, maybe the writers are trying to make us smack our heads once we get the reveal and it’s someone entirely unexpected. At first I thought August tripping was just him maybe being too near the Storybrooke border, but Ruby was in the same place and had no issues, so I don’t think the border is the problem. But a wooden leg: genius!
April 3, 2012 at 9:35 pm #140839the wizParticipantAugust wondered if he had a “shin splint”. I get shin splints from walking too fast or going for long walks in worn out shoes. Walking does not give me a wooden leg. It’s a crippling pain up the front of my lower leg. Here’s the Wikipedia explanation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_splints.

I feel that the whole ankle incident is important. I’m not sure what it could mean, but the one thing I noticed is that August didn’t get any closer to the hole in which Emma found the chipped part of the shovel. One theory I would like to toss into the theory hat would be this: Perhaps that location is on the border of Storybrooke, and every one of the Fairy Tale Land characters (besides Emma and Henry, of course) physically cannot leave the boundaries of Storybrooke. And the scene we saw of August tripping was him hitting the invisible border/barrier and he could travel no further. It’s just a far-out theory I have, and I believe there is actually a hole in the theory if you look close enough, but I won’t mention that just yet.
Ah, I like that theory. But wait, Ruby found the box around there and she didn’t trip or get hurt.
