It seems logical that Bae is Henry’s father. (Baelfire–Henry’s father is a firefighter) And I wouldn’t say that Henry’s father is as bad as Emma says; after all, it is coming from her perspective and she also thought that her parents abandoned her, so I’m still giving him the benefit of the doubt. Also, I do think the stranger is Bae.
[adrotate group="5"]October 2, 2012 at 3:44 pm #155120mujieParticipantI thought Emma was lying about him being a fireman. Plus, I kind of don’t want Bae to be the man. It’s like he’s given up on life.
October 2, 2012 at 4:18 pm #155125faux paxParticipantThe connection between him being a fireman and Baelfire always seemed flimsy to me. I mean I think Bae wouldn’t go by his full name…not in this world. He has enough isolating him without throwing in something as obvious as a medieval name. I think he shortened it to just Bae or changed it completely, so Emma might not have even heard the rest of it.
October 2, 2012 at 4:20 pm #155126lilredParticipantShe was lying. He wasn’t a firefighter. But many people think that there may have been a reason the writers had Emma pick that career for whoever the father is. Along with her bail bonds job. I agree with Faux Pax – not the strongest hint in the world.
There really are quite a lot of parallels between Baelfire and Emma, even if they don’t know each other yet. That being said, I could see Baelfire having a ‘troubled’ past as well. If he and Emma did have some type of relationship, if she was present during some intense nightmares – I could see that freaking her out. And, if she overheard parts of his nightmares, she could think the guy was crazy and violent. Who could blame her from getting out of that situation or lying to her son so he doesn’t go searching for a crazy guy?
In the end, I think a Baelfire/Emma relationship had two already damaged people who were not emotionally stable enough to be in any relationship in the first place. So – young adults + abandonment issues + damaged + sex don’t mix. I’m even going to skip a few levels and even throw ‘true love’ into the mix. If they are each others ‘true loves’, the intensity of those feelings surfacing could have made both of them run the other direction.
Part of me still thinks he might be a criminal, but more of a con artist/ scammer. He was dressed pretty nicely in that three-piece suit. Add in that his apartment is so ‘normal’, It doesn’t match up to me. For the argument that he seemed like a normal guy and not a bad boy – yes, but we don’t know what he’s capable of yet. He was at his apartment – at home, I’m sure criminals are like all the rest of us. And on the streets, I’m sure he’s learned how to not draw attention to himself. I will agree that he’s probably not a violent gang-banger…

Finally, I’m not sure if this the cover on his pull out bed is a Balfour tartan, but it sort of looks like a variation of it to me.
Here is a picture of Henry sitting on his bed. The pattern is smaller, but is it similar or from the same family.
Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.

October 2, 2012 at 4:33 pm #155132lilredParticipantHenry has to have some input because of all the fairytale pictures and clocks in his room – I’m surprised Regina actually allowed them.
October 3, 2012 at 2:39 am #155200zlfh4Participantok, so while I would love for Michael to be Bae the clues in his apt tend to point to him being the white rabbit to me or I suppose possibly the catepillar. The monocles and the Hatter sign are what most suggest this to me. I seem to remember the white rabbit wearing a monocle and I am pretty sure the catepillar in Hat Trick was wearing one. My only problem is how was he able to leave storybrooke?
October 3, 2012 at 3:21 am #155209faux paxParticipantHave you read the tvline article? the one that someone has posted a few times over this thread? It breaks almost everything down. The monocles and other doodads point to him just being out of place. But there are some things that really point to him being Bae. Especially if you take a look at point #8 on that list and follow the link.

I like the idea of them being true loves for a lot of reasons (although i really want to see how the actors play it out before i make any judgements) and you make their story sound so sad… 🙁 . But you might be right and it would just be another thing for Bae to hate Rumple for.
I like the idea that the biggest obstacle for Emma and her True Love to be together is something internal. That seems to be the biggest difference between relationships in FTL and here: In FTL the thing keeping true love apart is always on the outside (an overbearing mother, an arranged marriage, a cursed apple) but in our world, it’s usually on the inside (not being willing to choose, or let your walls down enough to let anyone in).
