In the 17th episode of the third season of Once Upon a Time titled “The Jolly Roger” we’ll be introduced to the ruthless pirate ‘Blackbeard,’ which will be played by Charles Mesure (Desperate Housewives, V).
Mesure hinted on twitter that he gets to wear one of the coolest costumes and takes part in a couple of action sequences, which will very likely include some swashbuckling with Colin O’Donghue who plays Killian ‘Hook’ Jones.

Oh thanks for asking! Based on Mesure’s tweets it sounds like he had a great time.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I noticed Adam confirmed that Charles Measure will be appearing on Once, but Adam didn’t say which character he’d been cast as. While I think Charles did answer the casting call for the role of “Blackbeard” we still cannot be 100% certain that is the character’s name in the show itself. “Blackbeard” might still be the codename for the casting call after all.

I think he is Blackbeard. I mean, come on, look at the actor. He has a black beard already.
I think he’s Blackbeard as well, but I also can’t help but feel that he’s something else as well. Maybe they’re combining the idea of Blackbeard and Davy Jones? Mesure looks like Colin and (guy who played Liam) to not have some family story here.

I also think Charles has been cast as Blackbeard. I was just pointing out Adam didn’t confirm that tidbit yet. I like the theory that Blackbeard might be his pirate name, and that Davy Jones be his real name. He’s probably Hook’s father or maybe Hook’s mentor after Hook went rogue.
