I’d still prefer it if he’s just one character. We have a lot of characters who carry multiple roles. It’ll be nice to have one who is just one.

Sure I get that. But I guess Davy Jones–the mythic figure–makes more sense in my head than Blackbeard–a historical person in the actual historical record. He doesn’t really *fit* in fairy tales because he is of this world and we have actual documentation for him. He’s not legend like Mulan or Arthur.

They could still mash them together. Blackbeard isn’t a proper name. He needs a real name, not a nickname. I still think he’s both.
Totally agree. Think about Colin. He’s Hook, but his really name is Killian Jones.
Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.
Obisgirl – He was Bryan. Shannon’s boyfriend. He tried to help her swindle $50,000 out of Boone while they were in Australia.
From the recent Lightening Round:
Speaking of fathers, might we meet Hook’s father?
Horowitz: Not this year.

I was wondering how this would even be possible, but now I’m thinking, descendent theory. It’s the only theory that plausibly makes sense. Hook’s father being possibly alive now would be crazy since Hook’s been around for almost as long as Rumple.
Unless his dad is Davy Jones.

Or if not a descendent, then a father figure. Doesn’t necessarily have to be blood related.
