Cora wanted Regina to conceive a child so that their line and claim to the throne would continue but Regina thwarted her. What did you think of the flashback portion of this episode? Did Cora’s speech at the end make sense given that she’s not supposed to have her heart?

I found this flashback very informative….

Loved seeing Cora again, and her speech made sense considering she still loved Regina, she just didn’t know how much till she got her heart back. She imparted some sane motherly advice for once, and even said that she was wrong for instilling in Regina, “Love is weakness.”

And that moment where she sees Henry Sr. again, and just dismissed him completely was hilarious.

I figured we’d at least see where Cora steals Henry Sr. and puts him in her heart vault in Wonderland. But then that might be too much continuity for one season…or show.

    Yes that was hilarious.

I find Regina’s solution to be very in character. She reacts before she thinks.

However, I am VERY bothered that Cora was able to speak such emotional truths when she doesn’t have her heart.

But we’ve seen Cora display a sick kind of affection for Regina. I think the fact that she doesn’t have a heart leads her to call the girl silly and goad her into making irrational actions. (Not that Regina didn’t make that call all on her own.)

But this seemed less sick affection and more genuine love, at least that last speech in the end where she was actually concerned for Regina’s well being and giving her profound life advice.

It makes sense now why she seemed to be genuinely hurt/peeved that Regina wanted Hook to kill her.

I think how self-aware Cora was about her own mistakes were the moments of ‘whaa?’ for me. For her to apologize about the Love is Weakness mantra was startling.

Yes that’s exactly what I mean. Maybe she put her heart back in her chest for this visit?

Yeah, and it would be in character for her to take her heart out again afterwards because it hurt.
