Im listening to the podcast “Secrets of Once Upon a Time” where they point out that in the ep “The Tower” Charming has that nightmare where he dreams of loosing Emma and she yells at him to not fail the next one, This is like his deepest fear, to fail his child, his Family.

Then the Wicked Witch steals his courage.. So what the Guys on the podcast thinks, is that when it comes Down to it and David has to be courages and save his new born baby from the Witch he is going to fail. Because he is going to lack the courage to do whatever it is he needs to do to save the baby. This is going to be Charming David’s big story arch.

What do you Guys think of that? I think that could potentially be very good and give our Charming David the long awaited interesting story he needs.

I think the problem is that the Witch didn’t steal his COURAGE–just a TOTEM. The totem is a symbolic object that represents the thing but is not actually the thing. I don’t know what Zelena could use it for, but she didn’t take David’s actual courage–just a symbol for it.

I think not having his totem will mess with him, but in the end he’ll find he doesn’t need it & does the courageous thing. It is probably a part of Zelena’s plan for him to think he’s lost his courage.

Possibly. And it fits with part of the Oz story where the three companions had their traits all along; but it took a placebo from the Wizard to prove it to them.

Yeah, I don’t think she actually completely took it away, I think she’ll just have the ability to use it now, by wielding the sword hilt. Just like Rumple still has his brain, he was able to realise that she wasn’t really concerned with appearances, he’s still capable of independent thought, but Zelena also has the ability to use his mind for her own means, because she has the Dagger. Perhaps if she goes to use Charming’s courage for some reason of her own, that’s when he’ll have a moment of cowardice, but the rest of the time, I think he’s still got his courage.
