“By the end of this month, I’m going to hit a crossroads and I’m going to have to make some decisions,” he told Digital Spy. “These decisions aren’t just about my wellbeing anymore, it’s about my family.”

My children love it out there, they go to school there, they’ve got friends there. I really have to think about them most, more than I have to think about me.
Bobby was the only one that I was 100% sure would be leaving. But after reading that part, I feel like it really could go either way.

yeah, I was for sure he was going to be the one to leave, I am actually surprised by this but completely understand he has always said that his family comes first.
January 26, 2017 at 4:26 pm #332839MatthewPaulModeratorA bit surprised at how Bobby addressed this. Like many of us, I thought he was 100% ready to move on and leave the show once his contract is up. After reading this, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if he still decides to stick around, especially if he is told Season 7 would be the final Season. So really, it could now go either way.
January 26, 2017 at 5:00 pm #332840MichaelBlockedI think the big thing to take a note of is that it’s more than just JMO and Bobby with contracts up. We’re probably looking at the entire S1 cast having their contracts up.

And it’s still unknown how the contracts work for the cast members who joined after Season 1. Do people like Colin and Emilie still have an extra year on their contract, or were their contracts made to align with the Season 1 cast?

I think they’re signed for S7 but whether ABC will want them for S7 is anyone’s guess. Same w/ Zelena if ABC wants to get rid of her they will even if her contract is for multiple seasons.
I think the only locks are JMO, Colin, and Lana. Maybe Jared as well.
The others are all on the chopping block IMO on whether they decide to do it or not.

Count me as another surprised person. It was 100% for me but now I’m leaning more toward 70/30 depending on what A and E pitch to him and how his family feels.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"January 26, 2017 at 5:37 pm #332844RainbowParticipanthe is told Season 7 would be the final Season.
One thing in this, and here lies the question, ABC president mentioned more seasons and a big change for S7, however, if S7 is the last with lets say 13/15 epis, why would be the need of changing directions? I mean, they would knew was last season, they wouldn`t care much about ratings, the only thing to change a show direction, always has in mind ratings and having more ground to cover in future seasons.
Also, find all this very odd, ok so they may not know if ABC will renew, based on ABC president they probably will, but i find it very odd that A&E didn`t had a talk with the cast and asked in case of a new seaosn can we count with you? If they said yes, they would not need this talks that appear behind their backs with ABc to change the show direction.
At this point this is looking very Castle situation, or the cast is saying this to get more money or this is all PR to get the show out there and bring old viewers to S6b and no one will actually leave and there is no changing direction on the show.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up still back there, but you never know.”Good old Bobby! He’s such a family man. From the way it sounds, he doesn’t find working on ONCE personally fulfilling anymore, but he’s thinking of his family and the show pays him well enough to support them comfortably. Unless another steady-paying acting job comes along it sounds like he might be tempted to stay another year for the sake of his family. In other words, it’s really more about the money than the job anymore, which is kind of sad because Bobby is such a talent and could be doing so many other projects like independent films. The trouble is those don’t pay as well and aren’t as steady.
Carlyle’s comments follow Morrison revealing she doesn’t “have it in me to do it forever” when asked about the show’s future. She said: “My contract ends in April on Once Upon a Time. I don’t know what that means.”
I did finally listen to the podcast interview with Jennifer Morrisonon on The Drop-In. While it sounded like she was very thankful to have all of the opportunities that have come her way thanks to her fame from House and now OUAT, she also said she “was born to direct” and sounded like she might want a career shift. She would love to direct more movies, her true passion. She seems to have become a bit tired by the demands of a network TV filming schedule. I could potentially see her acting on a cable TV show, which would have a better filming schedule, and also directing more independent films in the future.
