She probably would want to control him. I also doubt she’d want to curse herself to gain the power. She’s the kind of person who’d rather have it under her control.[adrotate group="5"]February 29, 2012 at 1:04 pm #137893hjbauParticipant
I am just not sure how the power of the knife works. Can the person who has the knife really just order the dark one to do what they say or is it more complicated then that? It doesn’t seem like the please works in the same way. It is just that we have no idea how much the original dark one was telling the truth about the knife because he was trying to get Rumpel to kill him. We don’t really know enough about the limitations of his power.February 29, 2012 at 2:46 pm #137904rumplegoldfankristiParticipant
I also think that Regina/EQ is a bit too vain to want to end up all green and scaley with rotting teeth and a bad case of black Lee Press-On Nails. Granted, Rumple and EQ give each other a good run for their money on the Best Dressed Villian Category – but even if she did know about the dagger I don’t see her taking a chance on a bad skin condition when she believes she has other ways of becoming more powerful that my man Rumple.March 3, 2012 at 3:13 am #138085ciela_crowParticipant
I agree with that to. If Rumple hasn’t defeated regina by now, then they are obviously close matched with their power. I don’t think anyone would actually want to become the dark one. Rumple was tricked into becoming the dark one, and he hates everything but his powers. Plus Regina has Belle to use against Rumplestiltskin.March 4, 2012 at 3:07 pm #138102riddleravenParticipant

Yes, I think they can. The guard ordered the original dark one around like that and when Rumpel called Zoso he acknowledged that Rumpel could now control him. He could have been playing a part but I think he was telling the truth about the dagger.
It would be a VERY useful thing for Regina to get her hands on. She wouldn’t kill him with it though, unless she doesn’t KNOW that it would make her like him! Hmm. Rumpel might succeed in keeping that from her and trick her to use it. Which would be quite a good revenge on someone as vain as her.
But I do not believe that she knows about it. And I think that he does have it protected somewhere.March 4, 2012 at 3:30 pm #138103hjbauParticipant
I don’t think the guard ordered the original dark one around. The guard seemed scared of the dark one. The episode seemed to suggest that the duke, who we never actually saw in the episode, could order the dark one around, the guy who had the knife, but we never actually saw that happen. It might be complicated though. Like you would have to be very specific in your orders.
I just think we need more information because the original dark one just wanted to die so what he said is not the complete truth i think. I don’t know if anyone has seen the tenth kingdom, but it was like the wishes in that show. The dad wished for a million dollars so he got a million dollars, but it was stolen so then the cops were chasing him. It would be sort of like that with giving the orders to the dark one. Also the wishes were like that in this show where they ended badly every time.
I just think we need more information.March 5, 2012 at 2:52 am #138133ciela_crowParticipant
Can the Dark One kill themselves? Or can they only be killed with their dagger by someonelse? I think it would be awesome if Mr.Gold tricked Regina into turning into the dark one. But then wouldn’t she have to kill him? And they wouldn’t be able to carry the story very far if that happened. and we don’t even know if the dagger works in Storybrooke.March 10, 2012 at 1:52 pm #138543SlurpeezParticipant
I doubt Regina knows about the dagger unless she just doesn’t know where it’s hidden. She would try her best to get ahold of it if she could control Rumple without actually killing him to become the next Dark One.
