ParticipantWhat pains me the most, was Emma as a mother, from S1 to S3A, wanting to be with her son, and doing everything for henry, i didnt put S3B, because was the start of Henry being replace by Hook, and seems that continues on S4, where is her thought in henry, in S1 and S2 the person who we see most around emma was henry, now is hook, is like she doesnt even care about it, is like she thinks, this is SB , he grew up here, so many people to take care of him.
Yes, where exactly is Henry in the midst of all this? While Regina and Emma are busy having their attention taken up with their male suitors, who is minding Henry? His maternal grandparents are too busy with their newborn son. His paternal grandfather is off on his honeymoon. There literally doesn’t seem to be anyone even remotely concerned with what Henry must be feeling after the loss of his dad. Neal was probably the only one left in town who would’ve given his undivided attention to his son. The moment he learned he was a father, he turned his life upside down to make sure Henry wouldn’t have to grow up fatherless the way he did. Looking back, Neal’s speech to Henry (who was really Peter Pan at the time) fills my heart with a bitter-sweet note. Neal told his son he’d have a father now and forever. And then, Neal didn’t even get to say goodbye to his son in the end, because Henry had no memory of him. Neal was not a deadbeat dad. He wanted to be the best dad he could be and gave his life twice to save his son. It’s just total crap that now Henry really has not one parent who is totally dedicated to him.
Don’t even get me started on Emma’s choice of would-be step-father to her son. The last time they spent any substantial amount of time together, Hook was teaching Emma’s kid to gamble, telling him it’s not how you play but winning that matters, and permitting him to runaway from home. Yup. Of the two would-be step father figures to Henry, Robin Hood is the obvious choice. He’s a family man, is a thief but with real honor, and has numerous years experience being a single dad already. The only problem is he already has a family of his own and (hopefully) won’t prove to be as bad as David Nolan was.
No wonder Henry starts hanging out at Rumple’s pawn shop. Henry is a young man now who needs male guidance. Too bad Rumple isn’t exactly the best male influence, especially when it comes to dark magic. And should it happen that Henry has innate magical ability like his mom, then Grumple may not be the best source of wisdom on that front. Too bad Charming seems to be too busy with his own son to show much regard for his grandson. Remember how precious it was to see Grandpa Charming and Henry bond over play sword fighting and horses? Henry needs that sort of positive male attention, and who better to get it from than Prince Charming? Why does OUAT have to make Henry find his grandfather boring? That’s so typical of OUAT to make the actual heroes of the stories into fuddy-duddy types.

yes, and will get worst on 402 according to the description episode, Regina runs away depressed, Rb must still be on honeymoon, Snowing has to take the hands of the city, still dont understand why,bc there are other heirs to other thrones, why people letting those 2 act like they rule all realms, emma will be probably with hook following her and trap in caves with elsa, the whole town will be without power, so no caring about other things, and i ask WHAT ABOUT HENRY, where is he in the midle of all this? i even wonder if besides going to work to the shop, still dont understand why, is not like the shop has many clients to need other person, but whatever, he asks to live with RB, that would be the biggest proof in Hnery mind of something that Pan said to henry on S3A, he is a lost boy, and no one cares about him.

ParticipantAnd also think Jared is tired of how the show is going, he seems detached, and some weeks ago when asked who he shiped, he said he didnt ship anyone, he just had to accept what is on script.

Poor kid. I remember when Jared actively used to tweet his support of Emma and Neal getting back together. Jared probably had no choice to backtrack after the writers decided to do a ‘reboot’ and kill off Henry’s dad. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Jared has probably been chastised by ardent CS shippers on social media for ever daring to mention in the past that he wanted Henry’s biological parents to end up together. The young actor was simply expressing the young, hopeful opinion that is typical of so many children of broken homes, the same wish that Henry so tenderly expressed to Emma about wanting to get a castle in which he, Emma and Neal could all live together happily. The ideals of childhood are now gone. Jared is now a teenager and probably more wordy wise, realizing the wisdom of withholding his true opinion from the masses.

ParticipantThis fandom will implode on itself. LOL another day in the life of the OUAT fandom.
I do get the vibe that Henry has become sort of a rag doll to Emma, right now her focus is on Hook and Regina. And lets face it Hook has replaced Henry in Emma’s life. Operation Cobra done died, now its Operation Hotness. Not saying that singe parents can’t have a relationship beyond their children. But it was fun watching Emma and Henry tag team together on their mini missions.
But I’m not watching so I really can’t say, maybe I am very wrong in that perception. Hopefully Henry’s story comes more to the forefront then just snippets here and there. shrugs…

KeymasterAnyone else watching JMo’s twitter and her “everyone be kind to one another! We all deserve happy endings!” speech?

ParticipantAnyone else watching JMo’s twitter and her “everyone be kind to one another! We all deserve happy endings!” speech?
No, thank goodness. But does JMo even see the hole in her own assertion? On the one hand, she claims everyone deserves a happy ending. Well, what about Neal? What about Henry, you know, Emma’s kid? Surely she must realize Henry’s idea of a happy ending included his father. But, oh wait, J-Mo can’t admit that Neal may have in fact been deserving of a second chance, that he never wanted intentionally to harm her, but to get her home, for fear of alienating her ardent CS fans. That would be a total PR disaster. Instead, she’ll just say that Hook, by contrast, is deserving of his happy ending because he gave up his ship for Emma; yet JMO won’t ever acknowledge that Hook twice left Emma for dead, and actually endangered Emma’s life–something Neal never did.

ParticipantI’m realizing that though I haven’t actually watched S4, I’m allowing myself to be too invested in the characters. I’ve been allowing myself to read about the episode and the character discussion going on. I think I need to stop, and take a looong break as I did over the summer. It’s though, because I’ve cared so much about these characters and enjoyed talking to you all. So, please excuse me for a time. I think I need to peace out for a while for my own peace of mind.

When she partically hinted on Cannes that Neal only 2 options was getting Emma or if he didnt get Emma he needed to die to redeem himself of his sins, says a lot of what she thinks of the character.

ParticipantI totally understand @Slurpeez and I might have to do a little of that too this season if this keeps up although I’ve been able to steer clear of the reviews and comments so far thanks to being busy. Take good care of yourself and don’t be a stranger! *HUGS* 🙂
It’s amazing how this show makes me want to flip tables and I’m not even watching the darned thing anymore. *flips a table* 🙁
