I have reached this point of numbness from the show.  I’m not shocked by anything and not in a good way.  Even up till 4a I hated some parts but I still wanted to watch the show.  Now I’m just …. uninterested.   Like I said, numb.  I’m very meh about the whole thing.

I think the showrunners  walk a fine line.  That famous saying about “The opposite of love is not hate.  It’s indifference” is very applicable.  Do they really care if people hate-watch?  It brings in viewers, which brings in ad revenue.  But when people become indifferent about the show, when they just don’t care, they don’t tune in.  They forget it’s on, they flip channels, they watch strange reality shows on Discovery instead of their once favorite show.

I know the fandom is insane. A dissatisfied fandom may stay faithful out of loyalty or hope that things will turn around.  A quiet fandom, which I’ve noticed a cooling down in many places although it’s still largely insane, will find something else to watch.

Uninterested is a good way to put it. I’m here. I watch. I blog. I snark. But there is nothing emotionally resonating about this show for me anymore. I don’t care that Rumbelle broke up or thatBookTheif/WillBelle is going to be a thing. I don’t care who lives or who dies. I admit to a bit of curiosity over some plot point like the author but I’m not expecting mind altering TV like I once got from this show.

More than uninterested, I’m just tired. I’m tired of the fighting. I’m tired of the fandom (except my Ranchettes!) I’m tried of having the same debate over and over–CSF, Rumple and Regina happiness, Hook love vs Hook hate, poor writing vs “it’s just a show!”

But more than anything, I am tired of missing a show that is actually still on the air.

I was talking about season 1 about Red and Snow sisterly friendship with heartsong and wow it seems like eons ago, like a distant memory.

Galadriel said it best in LOTR

Same. I can’t summon up the enthusiasm I once had for watching it, or even for speculating about it. There are still some things that rile me up, (I tweeted Adam the other day about how in interviews they mention how it took Emma time to let in Henry, and her parents, but they completely ignore how she reconciled with Neal, and they just jump right to talking about CS. I read it in a couple of articles and it just pissed me off, so I had to tweet my displeasure), but for the most part I just don’t give a crap any more. *sigh*

But more than anything, I am tired of missing a show that is actually still on the air.

This is so accurate, it makes me want to weep.
