They’re already trying to fix OQ with the Marian=Zelena thing, to make Marian not have been real all along would be overkill.

Keeper Of Tamara's Taser , Jafar's Staff, Kitsis’s Glasses , Ariel’s Tail, Dopey's Hat , Peter Pan’s Shadow, Outfit, & Pied Cloak,Red Queen's Castle, White Rabbit's Power To World Hop, Zelena's BroomStick, & ALL MAGICI hated this episode. It was a disjointed mass of confusion. And I had to leave the room when Rumple/Zelena was on. My dad was a vent for months when he was dying (he had lung condition) and the minute she started tugging I had to escape. I mean, I watched Snow’s mother die that week after my dad’s passing and I was perfectly fine. But that just crossed a line for me, tonight. It was the first Rumple episode I despised.

Rumple is being forced to ensure a happy ending for the woman who killed his son and mind-raped him for a year.
And we are supposed to be excited by her return.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"The only thing this episode achieved was to make me miss Baelfire even more–something I didn’t think was possible. His name was mentioned at least 4 times–more than all season. Why oh why?
Rumple: Because these are the remnants of Neal Cassidy, a boy who was in this land alone, and all because his father was too much of a coward to hold onto what he had. I don’t want a reminder of my failure–a reminder that all I really wanted was happiness, and when I had it, couldn’t recognize it.
My reaction? #UglyCrying
Why? Why did they undo this beautiful relationship? Why did they take away Rumple’s redemption when he gave Neal his second chance? Why does Zelena get to survive just to gleefully and shrilly gloat over Rumple while he doesn’t get a chance to see his beloved boy again?

This episode hurt. If I could summon up enough enthusiasm, I’d be flipping all the tables.

Rumple’s speech to Robin was the one bright point of that horrible episode. But like Phee said else where, it also reeked of them saying “and now we don’t need to talk about Nealfire ever again”

Yup, that’s totally what it felt like to me.
I do have some very faint shred of *twitch*HOPE*twitch* that Rumple got Regina to make that call so that she’ll go after Zelena and destroy her, because he still wants revenge for his son, especially after the crap she was saying to him in the hospital. But I don’t really expect that we’d ever get a scene confirming it even if it were the case, because we got that scene where it felt like Rumple wanted to never utter the name Neal (or Baelfire) ever again.

I’m only one paragraph in and I’m already wanting to yell PREACH.
We’ll discuss the plot from “Heart of Gold” in a second, but first I think we all need to take a moment and really appreciate what Once Upon a Time is trying to get away with here. Maid Marian has always been Zelena? All the time she was in Storybrooke, Maid Marian was Zelena in disguise, quietly moving in on Robin Hood to spite Regina? So this was true when she told Regina that Regina could have Robin Hood because she, Maid Marian, was moving on? And this was true when she unwittingly ate some magicked ice cream that turned her into an ice statue for the entire time Elsa was in town? And this was also true when she first came to Storybrooke and immediately recognized Roland, who Zelena had never seen before? Even if somehow we could just accept all of this, we’re supposed to just nod along with the idea that Zelena’s SENTIENT LIFE FORCE left her body and hovered around Emma and Hook through space and time like a bad smell? No, honey, no. Nuh-uh. Nice try, OUAT, but you need to show me some receipts when you try to make such an extensive return. You can’t just ret-con half a season and exchange an entire character with a color-changing necklace and call it a day.
