I hate this poster thing, from the nelive thing, that was weird, and we can see that in one poster that has hook ship and says something like 6 legends will save henry, or something like that.

1st: since when emma is a legend?

2nd: they should know when this was released that neal character would go to nvl, so why put the number 6? what better if they release the posters without any phrase .

3rd: i think from all the believe phrase hook is the most disturbing and we got the certain, just by that, that abc i promoting cs, i just hope that they dont win the pca , becuase if they win, abc can tottaly pressure adam and eddie to make cs endgame just to please the people.

And even more insulting, the official twitter page, even retwite posts of people saying bad of neal, they promote cs to the media, to the point where the media, actually, says that neal is in the middle of cs and promote almost like henry, emma and hook are a family.

i used to like hook, but now i cannot stand him.

It is not Hook or Colin to blame for the media-engine, but I do not think his character has received proper development.  Saying oh, he always made dramatic sea-changes in his life goals is kind of a cop out.

So I was noticing the notes on the confession that RG linked and it seems there are some CSers so unaware of the scenes between Neal and Emma that they think it is “fanon” to see an understanding between Neal and Emma.

Here are all the scenes that show a deep understanding between these two.

    1) Their entire scene in the loft when Henry is asleep, tired from a day of sword-fighting.   Emma makes a wry joke about giving the kid drinks and Neal gets her sense of humor.  Then they have  a serious conversation about what it might be like to go back to their land.  He reveals to her he never had an easy time there, but without going into details so as not to burden her with his old, long held scars.  He finishes her sentence about what to call August, and again, doesn’t go into details to burden her with his issues with August who stole the money.   Instead, Neal focuses on reassuring Emma because he knows that is what she needs then, and tells her she will always find what she is looking for, far as the danger to SB.

    2) At the beach, when he apologizes, he can tell from her reactions exactly what she is feeling, and he finally gets the courage to tell her his regrets, and he is sorry.  She acknowledges it, and they both put it aside because finding out about the threat to SB is more important.  Even if he doesn’t believe her, he has her back and she asks him to get her back.  They’re still a team, going into that cannery.

    3) When he falls into the portal, he understands her well enough to know how to get her to let go.  He could have been selfish and said “Well Henry has freakishly young grandparents the same age as Emma, so good enough, he won’t be alone.”  No, he knows Emma would never forgive herself if she chose to be with him for a few hours before he died instead of with Henry  her parents, especially as there was still a danger in Tamara and Greg out there.

    4) When they reunite in NL, he knows how to listen, when to apologize.

    5) When he is upset at Hook, she figures that out from how he reacts, and she tries to ease the tension with a joke.  We have not seen her crack a joke like that the whole time until Neal arrived.

6)Emma could tell Neal lost hope just from the marks on the wall.  Even if she got the coconut wrong, she knew it meant the way home.

7)Emma and Neal were in synch as a pair on launching the coconut.

I know there are more little scenes of how these two just understand each other.  That’s not to say she doesn’t have moments where they don’t see eye to eye, or that she doesn’t connect on some level with Hook (or Charming, Snow, or Regina for that matter) too but I am saying Neal and Emma have had several scenes showing they get each other in a very deep way.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Yes I agree. Their stories parallel each other to the extent that they *get* each other. They know what it’s like to grow up without a family and homeless, to loose hope (think about the scene in Bae’s cave when Emma just knew what the scratches on the wall meant because she did the same thing). Home and family are the most important things to them and it’s a concept they associate with each other, even years after the Tallahassee incident: she kept the car and the pendant; he kept the dreamcatcher.

“I was hoping you were dead because it would be easier to put you behind me than to face all the pain that we went through all over again.”

    “I wish I could change how I feel. More than anything…but I can’t. I’m sorry.”

Emma doesn’t want to feel this way. More than anything. She doesn’t want to feel like she’ll get lost in the pain like she did all those years ago. She doesn’t want to face any of it. When someone is dead there is no pain to face except to accept that they’re gone. If he is gone then she doesn’t have to deal with what they went through. What they could have had. What they were robbed of. What he robbed them of. What destiny/fate/whatever you want to call it robbed them of. She can just push the pain back down like she did last time. And it would be easier to push it down than to deal with it. And she wishes the opposite of all that. She wishes that she could deal with the pain. That she could face it. That she can deal with it. That it won’t hurt all over again when she does face it. But right now? She can’t.

And it’s Neal’s job to make her feel like she can face it.

“I’m never gonna stop fighting for you. Never.”

WORD to all of that from both of you! KFC, I just went back to see what comments you were talking about. I know it’s subjective lens and all, but seriously, those instances you listed are pretty straightforward interpretations of scenes. Unless it’s just obvious to me because of my bias? But seriously, those interactions between them seem pretty obviously to be two people understanding each other IMO. So if people are saying, “There hasn’t been one scene on the show that showed Neal understands Emma well.” (direct comment from the tumblr post), then I just have to wonder if we’re even watching the same show, or if people are just choosing to deliberately ignore entire scenes.

It’s a cold blustery Friday afternoon and I have a killer headache. So how about some happy?

    1) For those who watch WL next week is the winter finale called “Home” and it revolves around Alice and Cyrus finding each other. Y’know. The true love couple separated and trying to get back to each other, who are connected through a necklace. Don’t know why that sounds familiar

    2) this pretty thing
