KeymasterDoes anyone else think it may be significant that TLK hasn’t worked twice (well three) times now for the pirate and Emma? The first time, Hook’s cursed lips took Emma’s true love power. The second time Emma tried kissing Hook in Camelot. The third time Hook tried kissing dark one Emma in SB and it didn’t work. Could it be because, despite seeming to be in love with Hook, it isn’t real love? At least she has Henry. Too bad Neal died.
I’d really *really* like to believe it’s significant but I’ve stopped believing that this show is doing anything significant awhile back.

Fair enough, especially with these writers where anything seems to go. But, I just thought of another time when TLK didn’t work…in New York City Serenade. All I’m saying is that the idea of the failed-TLK is becoming a pattern for CS.

KeymasterOh I totes agree with everything you say, Slurpeez. I just question whether or not it’s intentional from the writers. This episode was full of contradictions from last week.
Example
Last week: Hook says that giving into the Darkness must be Emma’s choice; neither he nor Snow nor Regina can make it for her.
This week: Hook is all hot and bothered that they are wasting time on a ball because you never know when Emma will go dark and when Regina begs for Emma’s help for Robin, Hook’s response is that they CANT let her use dark magic.
The two ideas don’t link up. Now, it could be deliberate, or…it’s another case of the writers not talking to each other/having a clear plot line/understanding their own story.

I think this it.

ParticipantWith any luck, Emma will save herself with her own true love magic the way she did in 3×22 after thinking about Neal and his definition of home. But, with these writers, it could go in any direction. It really could.

ParticipantApparently I’ve come to terms with the CS-ness. Their failed kiss, failed to spark any joy. I mean let’s face it, they created a fail-safe with TLK and they are realising this after 4 seasons and are now trying to come up with ways to not kill their own story lines in just a few seconds.
I don’t really care if they do have TL. And I’m not just saying that to make myself feel better. The only reason I would care, is, I don’t want romance to be the solution for Emma. Emma has always saved herself. She’s always been the one to get by without any help from anyone.
But whatevs, wouldn’t be the first time they assassinated a character.

It really could. And most likely it will go in a direction none of us want it to go…

ParticipantAt this moment, i dont see them going back on the path they took after 315, or even before that episode, unless they go in a LOST way vibe and this was supposed to be last season, and they send all fandom to hell, but A&E are not J.J.Abrams, they dont have the courage to do it or even a name as writers in hollywood or power to do what they want,so if they want to have job after this they have to do what ABc says, and we all know what ABC wants. So i say, for those still seing be prepared for the worst.

KeymasterNo they aren’t going to change their direction. I think everyone knows this. But it is hard sometimes to not wonder if the writers don’t notice what they’re doing. I mean this is the THIRD time that a CS kiss hasn’t lead to anything happy or good or positive. Once is a coincidence. Twice is a pattern. Three times in a red flag of PAY ATTENTION.
And just a side note but JJ had nothing to do with LOST past about 2.5. He came back to direct an episode of S3, but he removed himself from the show very early on. And Damon and Carlton stand by their ending.
