ParticipantYou know what I realised the other night? The sorcerer’s house in 4A makes completely no sense because Merlin is the sorcerer and he never had a house in Storybrooke because he was a tree in Camelot for hundreds of years. Where did that house come from? Literally it’s only purpose was for RumBelle to have their honeymoon there, even though it was a completely random house. Does Belle make a habit of sneaking into other people’s houses to have sex with Rumple?

Yeah, I wrote in a different place:
Did they forget about last season already?!? What about the hat? What about the mansion? What about the door? What about all of this suddenly appearing in Storybrooke while Merlin was a tree and all his stuff were in a tower in Camelot anyway?!? What about all that character build up for a whole season just to kill him in the most ridiculous way?!?
And I also wrote:
They never explained how anything we saw in season 4 is connected to what we got in 5A and it even contradicts it. Why some of Merlin’s things like the hat, the door, the empty books moved to Storybrooke in the SECOND curse while in 5A we learn that Merlin was a tree the whole time and that all his stuff were in a tower in Camelot, which wasn’t affected by the curse. They did a good job building a mysterious character and they blew it with his revelation. This is what I’m talking about when I say Lazy because they never bothered themselves to sit down and connect everything, they just wrote stuff as they went. We need something to motivate Rumple to be evil again, Disney item preferable – a hat, we need to get rid of Frozen characters – a door, we need to have Emma tether the darkness to herself – a backstory of how Merlin fought The Darkness and tether it to a human soul, we need a cool exposition scene – Merlins warns Emma, we need the heroes to have some obstacle – Merlin stuck in a tree, we need Merlin’s backstory to parrallel Hook and Emma’s love story – a completely different backstory about him tethering The Dark One to a dagger. They didn’t think about it in advanced and map everything and said this piece is going to be revealed in x and that piece will be revealed in Y, they pretty much got to a point where they think the fans either don’t care(by what fans twitting them I can understand why) or that the fans would do the job of connecting everything by themselves and I don’t like being treated that way by the writers of a show that I really got invested in. I know they can do better because they already did it with Baelfire.

I mentioned the same thing in the “Unanswered Questions” thread I think. Yeah, I think the writers are just all over the place.
MERLIN’S HAT DIDN’T EVEN MATCH HIS OUTFIT >____> I’m sorry but that really bothered me because I really wanted to see someone wear that hat 😛

Oh wow, this is fanfic worthy xD

KeymasterDid they forget about last season already
This is how they’ve written every season since the end of 3A. They pick up the very last thread of the previous season (going home, Elsa in SB, Dark Swan) and then carry that thread through to the next mini arc but don’t bother returning to any other big questions/themes, ect. It’s the same reason why Emma is still an petulant 3 yr old who complains about her walls.

Exactly! The characters always do 360 every half season since season 3B. They just become templates and their personality is what the plot needs it to be. They don’t deal with consequences, they don’t learn from their mistakes and they don’t grow as characters.
The show ended in 311. if we think about it the main stories and relationships that motivated the show were resolved by that episode:
-The Dark Curse (Regina’s Curse, not Snow’s poor imitation or Hook’s WTF?!) was a main factor in season 1-3A and it was cast-broken-undone.
– Regina’s hatred towards Snow was resolved.
– Regina and Emma’s rivalry was resolved.
– Regina and Henry’s relationship, as well as Emma and Henry’s relationship, are not important anymore. Now it’s about Zelena-Robin-illegitimate child and Hook respectively.
– Snow and Charming are no longer important. Their relationship with Emma isn’t as well.
– Rumple search for Baelfire and their relationship!!! They don’t know what to do with Rumple anymore so they just make him a villain without any motivation being explained.

ParticipantMorning everyone!!!
So had a dream last night with OUAT, so the dream was like this:
was an episode of 5b, where they were explaining why Graham and Neal werent there. But their explanation actually show them there, so about Graham, was bc like in real SB, there is a thing at the town limit, is that outside the town a pack of wolves and graham was one of the leaders, he somehow after dead, since his soul was connected to wolves he became one. Neal, was but he was being played by Dylan, bc after dead he became teen, since that was when his problems started and he was the coma patient at the hospital that no one reclamed( just like David in S1) and Rumple and Henry were talking about which one of them would give him TLK to wake him up and i was like ok, so at least they didnt killed them, graham sort has his happy ending. since he now has a family among the wolves, but makes no sense Henry kissing Bae since young Bae doesnt even remenber Henry and then i woke up. Was weird and confusing.

Fifty Shades of Gold… Lol
You know… this has potential (well, Ok, maybe not in terms of a fanfic. Although…). Anyway, as this article suggests (in a few more words), Fifty Shades is essentially about the fantasy of having sex with capitalism.
In this vein, Rumple’s Gold persona is a kind of parvenu magnate (he’s sort of all the negative capitalist stereotypes — pawn broker, lawn shark, landlord — rolled into one.) There is also the sense that Gold’s fortune (just like Rumple’s magic) are not legitimately acquired, and hence are empty in the end. (As to why that is, see my occasional rants about OUAT’s feudal ideology of privilege). So from this perspective, it’s interesting that Belle has a tendency to shun Rumple when he’s closest to his “original” persona, but comes back when he’s more “Gold”-like or “DO”-like.
(Also, I leave for a week, and this is what SF is talking about?) XD Trolololo
