RumplesGirl wrote: General announcement from yours truly. As you guys probably noticed the CSF thread was recently opened again and conversations happened. They were actually going ok but I think most of us know that they weren’t going to stay that way. I tried very hard to stay out of it in general because that thread was my waking nightmare (major thank to Phee for listening to me scream). I went to do a check on the CS thread for spoilers and such and saw that there were quite a few : “RG if you read this, just get rid of that thread!!” I had a talk with Daniel and after hearing what I had to say about the continued mental well being of this community he agreed that I could send the THREAD OF DOOM to the dark abyss of Nevermore. It’s gone. For good. Ain’t coming back. I said this to the CSers too but I think we should all collectively agree never to try that again. And not cause we aren’t lovely people who don’t have very legit reasons and rationalizations for why we ship what we ship but cause it just isn’t going to work. I love that we tried. I really do; it shows that we can rise above petty shipping wars and actually TRY to listen to each other. But…let’s not try again. Yeah? Love you all. *cookies*

Really? Sorry that it came to that! The last I checked, I was having a somewhat decent exchange of ideas in that thread. I hope it wasn’t anything I said that got taken the wrong way. I just saw poor Neal being raked over the coals again and felt the need to come to his defense, yet again. But I’m actually glad you shut it down. I felt like no matter how hard I tried, it was impossible to speak sense to people who’re blinded by hatred to Neal as a character. It’s so sad, because people really would rather give into hate than to believe in redemption for Neal, yet they turn a blind eye to excusing every horrible thing Hook has done to Emma and countless others like Regina, Snow, Charming, Neal, Belle, Archie etc… . Yet, Neal gets vilified as if what he did is blasphemy, (an unforgivable sin)!

I’m sorry to hear that RG, you deserved better. The example you gave though was almost exactly what Hook was trying to do to Emma. He insinuated that things had happened with Tink, even though Tink was there saying they hadn’t.

I’m sorry too that you’ve experienced that kind of behavior. No wonder Hook rubs so many of us the wrong way. *Hugs and hot chocolate for you!*

ETA: Here is a pretty thing. Can’t we all just get along and drink hot chocolate together? 🙂

Using a fight as excuse to cheat is not a good or healthy way to deal with fighting and problems in the relationship but simply adds to it.

My ex used to do this to me. When I finally told him that I needed a break and to figure out my life, he would make a big show of how he was going out and dancing with other women and would insinuate that other things happened. And, as someone with intense abandonment issues and deep self-loating, I’d go running back intent on making him “love me” again. It’s a cycle. It’s not healthy. And it’s not how relationships are supposed to work.

Is it wrong for me to say that we all need to get in a car, and find RG’s ex so we can seriously set it the (beep) off! Lisa, Jo, Heather, Slurp, and POM…we need to take a road trip!

I think the single one reason why I prefer Neal for Emma over Hook is that Neal has RESPECT for other women that AREN’T EMMA. Two come to mind: Belle and Tinkerbell

Yes! And may I also add Wendy into the mix of women whom Neal/Bae has treated well? This is the girl for whom he was willing to sacrifice himself to save her brothers, so that they wouldn’t have to pay the price of magic! Wendy, the girl who took him in, fed him and housed him, had become like a sister to him. They touched each others’ lives so much in the brief time they were together. Wendy and her brothers then came in search of him, which seemed like a bad idea, since Wendy knew what PP does to those who oppose him, but she was willing to do it so that “Bae would have a family.” That is how much Wendy loves him as a brother! Eventually, Neal got Wendy back to her brothers. Neal is a hero! Remember this scene in which Emma realized how much Wendy loves Neal. From Tumblr

I just wish Emma could have gotten to hear the entire backstory of what Neal did for Wendy and her brothers. Hopefully, someday, she will, even if it’s off-screen.

I also suspect that Nealfire will be very caring and protective of his step-mama, Belle. She just lost the love of her life, and Neal is the only connection she has left to Rumple. I’d love to see Rumple and Belle form a family unit where she is like a sister figure to him. I could see them teaming up to help save Rumple in the second half of S3.

ETA: More wonderful SwanFire family goodness! 😀

RG-I’m so sorry that you had a tool for a boyfriend for a while and I’m glad you got out of the relationship. I am totally on board with a road trip to kick that ex in the behind a few thousand times! 😉

I love all the pretty things that I’m now able to see again since I’m home from work. The random BTS shot of Colin, Jen, and MRJ having coffee while on set just makes my heart happy! I wonder if that cast/crew alone is keeping Starbucks busy in Vancouver, LOL 😉 Anyway, pretty things are totally awesome and I keep looking for things every night. I’m hoping I’ll finally have my emotions under control this weekend so I can finally go back and watch the “See You Again” video because I love the song but it has a very emotional place in my heart. One of my very best friends lost her dad to cancer earlier this year and that song was a huge comfort for her and her mom so it makes me cry thinking about him. I just got teary again typing that out so maybe I won’t be watching that video this weekend after all. 😮

Nothing any of us or them did. Honestly, it was for the overall mental health of this community.

    omg look how adorable.

She WILL remember that eventually though! Have faith. I refuse to believe that they’re going to erase that entire part of her history somehow and that all the growth that Emma has had as a character in the last 2.5 years is going to be washed away. She WILL remember what she did and what he did FOR her, and it will be an important realization between her and Neal when they finally get to talk about their past and hope for their future.

I love how they’ve written this story in that the Curse is what brought them together, and also what tore them apart, and in the end it’s given them this shared experience and understanding that can bond them together completely and forever. That which made them, and tried to destroy them, will ultimately make them stronger. That’s a bloody good story, that is. Dare I say, it’s poetic.

I will be LIVID if it happens any other way because it would be a total cop out and while they do tend to forget some things, this is something way too big to brush under the couch. Don’t let me down writers!!

    WORD

    General announcement from yours truly.

It was worth a shot. *sigh* At least now your blood pressure can go down a bit. And your blood sugar can go up, because *ALL THE COOKIES COMING YOUR WAY*

I think the single one reason why I prefer Neal for Emma over Hook is that Neal has RESPECT for other women that AREN’T EMMA.

Because he’s just a decent, compassionate, selfless, respectful guy. And after all the crap he’s been through in life, he’s done pretty well to hold onto those good virtues and not just go dark, which shows incredible strength of character. He’s kind of great. 🙂

If Hook’s answer to emotionally hurting because of Emma is to get drunk and throw himself at the first attractive woman he sees, then CaptainSwan is going to have a big problem.

THIS. And I can’t help but think that that’s why they even wrote that scene, to illustrate what an unhealthy relationship they would likely have. Not only is that event unhealthy in and of itself, but it’s also showing him completely contradict what he’d said about winning her heart without trickery.

I also suspect that Nealfire will be very caring and protective of his step-mama, Belle. She just lost the love of her life, and Neal is the only connection she has left to Rumple. That gif used to make me so happy. Now it hurts! Thank God that Belle and Neal still have each other.
