I just had an idea about episode 3×16. I have a theory that maybe Emma, her parents, Tinkerbell, Bell and Neal all travel to the Gale family farm at the start of the episode. There they meet a now aged Dorothy, and discover she still has the ruby slippers. Maybe Neal and Chris Gorhams’ character (who is really Dorothy’s son or the Wizard of Oz) then volunteer to travel to Oz for the purpose of finding something to defeat the WWW, and everyone else stages a funeral for Neal, but maybe it’s a decoy to trick the WWW. Dorothy, Emma, Tink, Belle, and her parents come face to face with WWW, while in the mean time, Hook babysits Henry. That is the sort of thing I could really see happen on this show which loves to use trickery.

    Sounds plausible.

I’m going to quote something @Phee wrote in the Glinda thread

RumplesGirl wrote: The question for me then becomes how did he and Emma meet–was it long ago or only recently?

No idea about that, but I love the idea that the son of Dorothy and the daughter of Snow and Charming, these people who are next generation fairytale/storybook characters, were somehow drawn into each other’s lives in our world.

Didn’t want to put my thoughts in that thread since it’s overly shippy but totally works for Neal too! These kids who are from the stories we all know and love meeting and coming together! And all of them have one thing in common: home. Emma and Neal want to find a home and Gorham’s character (if he is the son of Dorothy) comes from a story in which home is the central motif! I was worried about Gorham’s character being another love interest but now I think he’s there to help Emma and Neal find their way back to each other–find their way home. Perhaps with the aid of some magical hand waving and ruby red slippers, which as Glinda says in the movie were always capable of taking Dorothy home. Emma’s had her home with her at all times she just needed to believe (and kill a wicked witch)

Why stage the funeral though? Plus Gorham appears to get to SB at the confrontation.  I think SB may be recreated in Kansas.  We assume it is back in Maine but maybe not and the Gale Farm is now inside the borders.  The WWW wanted to get to Dorothy (who took the slippers).  Maybe the foster brother idea is partly true, in that the Gales are the Swans.  If Dorothy married her last name would be different.  The Swans gave Emma back when they realized she had magic, fearing it might trigger a way for the WWW to get to them all.  Maybe Emma doesn’t know Gorham’s character “Henry Swan” really but just after Hook tries to get to her, the Swans are trapped in a bubble town except for Henry who’d moved to NY.  I am not sure where Neal fits into this though!  That’s the problem.  They’ve given us so little information about Neal, plus so little has been sighted about him we are not given much to craft an idea of where he is that isn’t unspeakable.  What if he’s in Oz though?  If he did escape through Oz from NL, maybe Glinda will have something to do with him getting to our world.  Maybe the WWW trades places with him using the Dagger to cross worlds so he’s in OZ and she’s in the EF to cast her curse?

I realize I left my theory incomplete. The reason to stage the funeral would be to throw the WW off of the trail that anyone is looking in Oz for a weapon to defeat her. Also, I have another theory that it’s gong to take Emma and Neal sharing a TLK to break this new curse. By pretending Neal is dead, the WWW would falsely assume that could never happen. With regards to Chris Gorham, Kat, the girl on twitter who posted pics, clarified that Chris Gorham wasn’t actually in the scene being filmed on the streets of Steveston; he was merely observing it. He later was reportedly filming scenes in studio the same night MRJ and J-Mo were reportedly filming indoors. So it’s possible Chris Gorham and MRJ were filming in front of a green screen because they’re in Oz!

I think it’s highly likely that the farm the Charmings, Emma, Belle, and Neal visit is the Gale family farm and that the purpose they go there is to seek out Dorothy’s help. I really like the notion that Emma might know the Gales as the Swans from her younger years, like they were a foster family to her at some point. We’re supposed to find out sometime how Emma got her last name Swan; this would be the perfect way to answer that question, and it’d be very interesting if Chris’ character goes by Henry Gale Swan. Emma said her adoptive parents sent her back after they had a kid of their own, so maybe Chris’ character is that kid, just grown up. Aren’t we creative? I’ll almost be disappointed if that isn’t how it happens.

I completely agree concerning how these characters are so tied together, and it’s very fitting we’re heading to Oz since the theme of home overlaps so well with Emma and Neal’s dream of home. What forcers drew together Emma and Neal? Fate and destiny! How else could August have tracked Emma and Neal in Tallahassee? How else could August have found the town of SB when he met Emma at the tail end of True North? There seem to be a lot of mysterious elements drawing these various descendants of fairytale characters together, and I would bet dollars to doughnuts that Chris Gorham’s character is no exception; I’ve decided he must be connected to Dorothy and is either her son or the Wizard of Oz. Ever since I read that Chris’ character would be linked intricately to the lives of two people, I’ve fully decided he’s linked to Neal and Emma and that he’s working behind the scenes to help reunite them, because doing so will finally defeat the WWW, who’s out to get Dorothy or something like that.

Just a friendly reminder that Emma and Neal’s love created the truest believer! *Believe in the impossible!*

KFC I’m intrigued by the idea that NewSB might be in Kansas. It had been stumping me how they might get to that place if it IS the Gale farm, because Kansas is a bit of a hike from Maine, and a whole bunch of them seemingly go there and back again and have the same clothes in each place. I’ve had it in my head that WW recreates SB in part because she’s trying to get to where Dorothy is, so that would fit nicely if NewSB ends up in Kansas, not far from the old Gale farm.

The idea that NewSB might be in Kansas instead of Maine is really interesting. I mean why is the Gale Farm suddenly in Maine? I sorta doubt it’s anything other than the Gale Farm.

    Love this for reasons!!

I also love that for reasons.
