ParticipantMRJ knows how to be sneaky. THey hired him on the down-low, they shot in NY, and in general, his costume is one that would blend in with crew pretty easily outside of the EF scenes. Those khaki pants and boots, throw a different coat or hat on him? Would they even notice him walking to set? We know for a fact there have been scenes shot where he was there and the “reports” neglected to mention him. We know people have watched episodes where they forget his part outright so no shock there. Everything is being filtered and reconstituted right now so while I do think the usual “Dude in Distress” may have some twists and plots for him, it may not be what those who underestimate him think it is.
I’m excited to see Neal have emotional scenes with Belle, Charming and Snow. Let’s hope there’s more to come in modern day, not just flashbacks.

KeymasterAt the end of Once Upon a Time’s midseason finale, why did Emma end up in New York City, Neal’s recent home, rather than Boston, her most recent place of residence outside of Storybrooke? –R.T.
Hook poses that exact question in the March 9 midseason premiere – and Emma does have an explanationI may be dancing. I’m not going to get my hopes up that her answer is actually, “Neal lived here,” but I’m happy to learn that there is a reason. NYC is only associated with one other character-Neal. Gotta be something to that

I’m doing a little jig, too! I wonder if Emma replies before or after she gets her memories back. I’m guessing it must come after, since presumably Hook doesn’t expect a real answer until she remembers the last several years of her life. Otherwise, she’d be giving a reply based on her false, implanted memories.

I have to agree I think it has to do with Neal. I suspect it’s Emma’s instinct to go where Neal once lived. I’m wondering if she subconsciously remembered that is where Neal lived and where he came back into her’s Henry’s lives
I have to wonder if maybe being the savior she subsconsciously remembers everything that happened in her dreams but it’s in her conscious hours when she is awake that she truly doesn’t remember SB, Her Parents, Neal, Hook, etc…

That seems possible. Dreams are highly significant on Once, and we all know that one of the biggest Swanfire symbols is the dreamcatcher. Right before Graham remembered his identity in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter he was having dreams of his wolf friend and confided in Mr. Gold, who said, “They say that dreams are memories. Memories of another life.” So if Grahm was having dreams of his fairytale identity after kissing Emma then Emma herself could have some recurring dream. Might that dream be based on the events of Manhattan?
