ParticipantReally quick: I will never believe the media bias again. There was nothing BUT SF feels in this episode. It’s like they’re just setting up their reunion. Back to Walking Dead đ

Yes, as crazy as it sounded when I first heard it, it’s true! The new promo for 3×13 reveals that people have been disappearing and/or turning into winged monkeys. I never thought I’d live to see the day when Neal turned into a flying monkey, but heck, Emma dated a monkey for 8 months. Anything could happen!

KeymasterOk. It finally calmed down (3 months out of practice. Forgot how CRAZY it gets)
FAMILY was the whole theme of this episode. And Hook even says he didn’t do it for them, but for her. Which is YES romantic, but not part of the overarching theme of the show and specifically this episode.
Neal isn’t going to give up. He is going to go with Belle to get Rumple back and figure out how to get Emma and Henry
BelleFire scene gave me life
Emma having a sense of familiarity even before she saw the dreamcatcher–thanks to Mic for pointing that out.
Emma carries Neal with her, even if it’s just in her heart by loving Henry the way she does.
The pictures where of SB and of their trip to NYC

ParticipantYes, she referred to Hook as a ghost.
I noticed the beanhole flash in Emma’s memory and him falling. I feel like singing Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now”.

ParticipantOk. Someone analyze the heck out of this. Slurpeez!! Can you repost your post from earlier? it passed by so quickly

My initial impression of 3Ă12 is actually really good! I loved seeing Emma in her element in NYC. She said it was like a really good dream. I LOVE that Emma, even when cursed, ended up in Nealâs home city because of a fireâŠBaelFIRE. I adored every moment of seeing her and Henry interact and have a wonderful family. Itâs understandable that Henry and Emma thought Neal had abandoned them and let Emma take the fall for his crime, because they had no real memory of the past several years or the reasons why Neal did what he did. I think though now that Emma remembers those things sheâs going to understand and even sympathize again with Neal. She even nearly had a fake fiancĂ© named Walsh, who turned out to be evil. She said she loved Walsh. Iâm thinking that is going to help Emma understand how Neal could have loved Tamra, his evil fiancee. Lots of parallels.
I thought it was amazing, actually! I even enjoyed the scenes between Hook and Emma more than Iâd expected. I think there are a lot of gaps to be filled in of course. It seems like Hook was never part of the second curse, since David said they were trapped and Hook didnât know what effects the curse had on the people of SB. Somehow Hook escaped the curse. Hook took off from the rest of the group early on in order to look for his ship and only learned about the curse and SB being recreated via a message. Itâs interesting that Hook flat out said the Enchanted Forest was not his home but that the Jolly Roger is. He said the hero thing didnât work for him and said heâd always been a pirate. Yep, good luck getting Killian into a pair of blue jeans and a flannel shirt anytime soon. The sea in in his blood. He has no desire to change out of his pirate getup. Itâs also interesting that Emma called Hook a âghostâ and said flat out that he is not an ex, because they were never an actual item.
Also, I really liked the scenes between Neal, Snow, and Charming. Neal was not about to let go of Emma and Henry the way Emmaâs parents were. I LOVED the scenes between Neal and Belle. Theyâre both on the same page of finding Rumple. And Belle reassured Neal that he would see Emma and Neal again. I may have squealed with *delight* when she said that, because itâs further confirmation of what Neal told Emma and Henry in 3Ă11! I love that Belle sees the good in people and knows what a good and genuine heart Neal has. It sounds like sheâs going to help him in his quest. Even though Neal said he hoped he wouldnât have to cast another curse to get back to his son and Emma, suggesting he mightâve been the one to assist, I think that is a misdirection. I donât think Neal will give into darkness like his father did, especially not with Belle around to be his moral guide and companion. I think heâs instead going to find Glinda the Good Witch who will help him return to A Land Without Magic, perhaps by a similar method that Dorothy did using the silver slippers.
Also, did Emma refer Hook as a ghost?
Walsh asked who it was from Emma’s past who showed up. He questioned whether it was Henry’s father or another ex. Emma replied no, nothing like that. She said he was more like a ghost.
lso: I call giant misdirect. âI just hope I donât have to curse a kingdom full of people to do it.â MISDIRECT. GIANT MISDIRECT. They wouldnât blatenly foreshadow something like that so obviously.
You’re right it’s way too obvious. Neal isn’t the one to do it. Zelena is.

The original dreamcatcher scnee was there as well, I think
Also quick note. According to characters ON SCREEN: Hook’s home is the JR. Neal’s home? with Emma and Henry.

For real! LOL See people, it pays to just wait and see and judge for yourself. đ

That line really stuck out to me, and I actually appreciate that they’re not trying to play him off as doing a big hero act for everyone’s sake, his primary focus is still Emma, he’s still got the selfish pirate streak, and he didn’t shy away from saying it.

Yes. It’s funny that sometimes I think we SF fans see Hook more clearly than CS fans do. Hook himself said his idea of home is his ship, which he’s not going to want to just give up to live in a cool loft apartment in Manhattan, a cozy home in SB or even a castle in the Enchanted Forest. Hook is a man of the high seas. The sea is in his blood. And don’t expect to see him in blue jeans either. Hook himself reinforced the idea to Charming that he’s a) not the hero type and b) has been and always will be a pirate. Hook LOVES being his pirate persona, as evidenced by his glee that came from putting his physical hook back on.

I’ve always been a pirate. Super important line is super important.
He’s CAPTAIN HOOK. Always.

YES! And course it had to be Belle. “The future isn’t always what it seems. I will see you again.”
Yes, Walsh asked, âHenryâs dad? an ex-boyfriend?â And she said, âNo, nothing like that. More like a ghost.â
Interesting word choice, No?

300 years of being that selfish pirate. Ain’t gonna break soon.
