HUGS Slurpeez’s post I agree on all account. Every interaction between Hook and Emma demonstrated how completely opposite they are to each other. They have different goals in life and that’s a surefire way to have a relationship in shambles if you aren’t in agreement of what the both of you desire together. Every look Emma gave Hook was a look of exasperation not eagerness.
Yes. And Hook’s ideal home is the sea, the JR, he said so himself. (and if not the JR then any ship will do). But Emma’s life is what she had when she was Cursed. She wants to make eggs and pancakes and play video games.

Another great catch! Neal is the guy whom Emma loves, and Hook is well aware of that fact. Peter Pan said as much to Hook. Hook may have also overheard Emma in the Echo Cave telling Neal she loved him and probably always would. How does a guy compete with that? I almost feel bad for Hook, but then I remember how he and Bae’s mom abandoned him and how Hook is now trying to vie for the mother of Neal’s child. Not cool dude. Out of all the women whom Hook could have gone for, he had to go and fall for the mother of Neal’s son and the woman whom Neal loves (and the woman who loves Neal to boot). *sheesh*
That goes against the bro code on at least 3 different levels.
(1) Not allowed to date a bro’s mom (um hello Milha)
(2) Not allowed to pursue a woman whom your bro likes, let alone loves. The mother of your bro’s baby is totally off limits.
(3) Bros before h**s (I’m a woman so I hate that kind of language, but the golden rule of the “bro code” is your guy pals comes before women).
So, the question stands. Does Hook really consider Neal to be a “good friend” or was that just something he said to impress Emma? Hook said in 3×12 that he wasn’t there on account of Neal. It’s almost like Hook doesn’t really care for Neal or his happiness at all. Hook is still all about himself."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home.
