One of my favorite moments, even though it shattered my heart was hearing Henry’s conversation with Emma about his birthfather. When he said talking about Walsh “He wants to be with you, us. He wants you to be his home“- Oh it just tore my heart open and I’m pretty sure I may have yelled at the screen “You’re Wrong! Neal is fighting to be with you both to get back home to you!!!”

That speech about Walsh from Henry made me so sad that Henry has no remembrance of Neal and thinks his dad is a deadbeat. It also sheds a light on what Henry considers to be important to him: a faithful father figure. He wanted to include Walsh into their little family, because he wants his mom to be happy but also because he’d like a step-dad. It makes me think that Henry, while cursed, will bond with “Killian” while not realizing he’s actually Captain Hook, because he’s susceptible to an older male influence. There is a gap presently in young Henry’s life, and Hook is going to try and fill it because Hook is motivated to get “in” with Henry’s mom. It’s going to be difficult for fans rooting for Neal to get back to his family, but it just made me think how wonderful it will be for Henry to rediscover that not only does his father love him but that he’s striven to be a good dad ever since discovering he was one over a year ago.

I hope Hook eventually comes clean to Henry about his dad out of respect for Bae, the boy he should’ve been a better father figure towards instead of abandoning him and then striving to replace him. It’s almost like Hook is trying to supplant Neal out of some deep-rooted issues he has from failing at fathering with Bae while he was with Milha…Maybe Hook considers it to be a “re-do” with Henry and Emma, but really, it’s twisted. The only way for Hook to redeem himself as a father figure would be to step aside and help Neal, his supposed son figure, be reunited with his son and Emma.

My favorite Swanfire moment: Neal already planning how to get back to his family and home. Belle reinforcing to Neal he will see them both again. Because Belle see the heart and core of person and she sees the love that Neal has for his family.

My favorite moment of the episode: Neal, Belle, and Robin have a little chat, a tale of two thieves and a Lady, aka three Musketeers.

It seems the media, promos, and interviews all paint a mirage based on interpretations and biases.

Whereas the show itself simply tells a story that is in  contrast to the mirage that is being painted.

I still don’t see why I should feel I am rooting for the wrong couple. I see a father and love who is not willing to give up hope of being reunited with his family. There is nothing that Hook did that made me feel like they should be together. It only affirmed what I thought while Hook  may ‘love’ Emma and Emma may care for him they are still not compatible for a life time living together. Hook craves the sea life full of adventure and danger. Emma just want to come home after a long day at work and play video games with her son.

I can honestly see, Emma, Neal, and Henry doing just that. Going out playing lazer tag together, Emma cooking eggs while Neal fries the bacon and Henry makes the toast, them ordering pizza or Chinese while playing video games together, listening to old records and dancing to Henry’s embarrassment, making and losing bets on who has to wash the dishes for the week, helping Henry with school projects, watching Disney movies and pointing out their relatives. Just living life and loving each other. I can see that being their happy ending.

    Exactly!

I’ve always wanted an epic BFF with Emma and Hook. That’s how I see them.

Please, can this be the way the series ends? I would grin from ear to ear knowing that our little SwanFire family is at last getting the happy, normal life they always dreamed of together, the dream of Tallahassee actually realized. 🙂

I’d love that ending, but I’d add in that in the backyard is a portal that they can freely pass through both ways to visit grandma, grandpa and everyone else. Barriers broken, but everyone happy in what they are comfortable in :D

    LOL

Henry: “Brb Mom and Dad! Going to see grandpa and grandma!” *jumps into a portal*

Emma: I made cookies.. can you take some to grandpa? Henry: SURE! BRB, jumps in and *swoosh* Emma and Neal look at each other with a smirk, start laughing.. then he pulls her in for the hug and they kiss. The End. *curtsy*

I just got all woobie feeling from reading this

I feel so sad for Emma, too, knowing that she got to live her dream for a year, only to be rudely awakened by Hook. Poor Emma really thinks as the savior she’ll never have that dream again. I think S3b is about Emma realizing what home means to her, learning to fight for that dream, and again discovering that Neal is the one who best completes her dream of home-life, family, and togetherness. Likewise, I think Neal is on a parallel journey of fighting for his second chance with his boy and Emma.

Yes I think to our surprise we will see both Emma and Neal undergoing a parallel journey.

The portal could be another wardrobe.
