KeymasterIt can’t be. They wouldn’t do that. If they want to kill Neal, then it won’t be his own father doing it. That might be the straw that breaks my back…

I won’t lie, it’s a good theory. But a convoluted one because of the pacing of the story. I would think that Neal’s character being one of the primary focus from season 1-2 would have some sort of resolution before his death. If he’s indeed going to die. But I’ve yet to see anything that really puts his character arc in that situation of having any resolution to the problems he’s facing currently. We haven’t really gotten that much screen time with him, which tells me that they’re holding back the mystery of Neal’s disappearance a little while longer. It would also take his main arc of “Second Chances” and completely throw it back in the audience’s faces. I mean each character has their own sort of arc attached to them. Emma with finding “Home” Hook with finding Redemption. Regina with finding “2nd Love” etc… Neal’s 3B arc was introduced as second chances. So I can’t see A&E building all that up to have it pull out from under us within 2 episodes. I mean really??? It doesn’t make sense. Unless they hate his character that much.

ParticipantI hope not. I really really hope not. Would it be a shocking and devastating turn of events? Yes. Would it send a message that not everyone gets their happy ending, even if they deserve one? Yes. But it would also be crossing the line to a really dark kind of storytelling that seems far removed from a “family show”. If Neal were the most beloved character in the show I would actually think it a bigger possibility because of it’s emotional impact on the audience, but since he’s not I really don’t know. On one hand I’m cautiously intrigued by the idea, but the other 90% of my is flailing madly in a panic for just thinking about it.

Fab!
And little Roland is so cute.
I agree with one thing: it’s way too dark for a family show. Especially when RUMPLE is one of the most beloved characters.

ParticipantI thought about it as well. RG I’m with you there having Rumple do the deed is beyond cruel and there is no way storywise you can have Rumple, Belle, Emma, or Henry bounce back from that. Rumple would be full on evil and mad. Henry and Emma would loathe Rumple, if they don’t turn darker or colder as well. And as a casual viewer I would see that as just being unnecessarily cruel and despondent. That would just suck the life and joy right out of the show.
I think Neal is either in Oz, a flyingMonkey, trap in Rapunzel’s tower, or under a sleeping curse (Regina made one). I think they are being far to vague with Neal for him to be dead or the death. The audience is suppose to worry with is he dead, a flying monkey, or did he cast the curse. And if we are lead to believe those three are the scenarios then none of them might be it.
believe in second chances, second chances was being repeated again tonight. Second chances was tied to Neal’s theme poster
the person that got me worry the most is Snow and Charming. I did not like the dark vibe I got when Z touched MM belly. It gave me a bad juju feeling.

ParticipantI love that Emma is concerned about Neal’s whereabouts and safety. Can we get those two kids reunited ASAP PLZ!
Did you all see that kranen posted in another thread, a shot from the promo of the hooded figure that we’re gonna see in SB, and how the costume looks like it’s similar to Neal’s FTL costume?
I don’t think they’d have Rumple kill Neal. Apart from the obvious that it would be far too heartbreaking, I wouldn’t find it believable that Rumple would be able to do it, even if he’s gone mad and/or is being controlled. If they want me to believe that Rumple could stand over his son and stab him or whatever, and not have his son’s pleas to not do it NOT get through to him, and be stronger than whatever dark power was controlling him, I’m sorry, but I just wouldn’t buy that. Yes Rumple chose power over his son before and it destroyed them both, but for that very reason, I can’t see him doing it again, because he’s come a long way since then. If he were in that position again where he’d feel compelled to hurt his son, this time he wouldn’t go through with it, his love would win out.

YES!
While there was hardly enough MRJ in this episode, it was very suspenseful and left me on the edge of my seat! Where exactly is Neal? Did he turn into a flying monkey too? I noticed he got pushed out of the way when the flying monkey attacked Roland in the EF. Maybe Neal’s contact with the monkey was enough to turn him into a monkey later on? WHO KNOWS?

Yes! “Everyone gets a second chance.” EVERYONE. If Reigna, who has killed before, gets one, then so does Neal, who has never harmed an innocent before. Neal has yet to get his. Even though we’re being led to doubt, to waver, to question, it’s all in the build up of having HOPE. Emma herself is concerned with Neal’s whereabouts. She cares about him because she loves him. I think she is going to take the initiative to find him. As Walsh said in 3×12, “Emma Swan always gets her man.” And as Hook said in 3×13, “He’ll turn up, Swan. He always does.” Even though it seems dreary now, it’ll all come out right in the end.

I think Rumple’s madness isn’t on account of him having killed his son. I think it’s on account of him having been dead and now being undead. Rumple said to Zelena, “You never should have brought me back,” which sounds like he’d been in some sort of purgatory/afterlife.

Yeah….sadly I got that vibe too. It was really eery how Zelena claimed to be a midwife and touched Snow’s pregnant belly.

I will gladly accept that
