I am on the same page as a lot of you, and have more hope after tonight, but more than that, I ENJOYED this episode.  The ship stuff was not at the fore front, and it had a very S1 vibe over all.  Wicked is excellent as a villain, though I do hope she isn’t both Regina and Neal’s half-sister–but I am bracing for that.  At least for SF–if she does turn out to be Neal’s sister, maybe she’d want to torture him too just like she is Regina, and hence, the Monkey in the middle.

I was happy there were things the “spoiler stalkers” didn’t know, like Red.  How did they keep that on the down low?  Gives me hope they kept other things quiet too you know?  I’m still nervous about all the various possibilities but that’s how you’re supposed to feel in a drama.  It would be boring if we were TOO SURE of everything coming alright in the end–the trick is to make us want that and to be totally unsure how that happens.

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around this a lot.

Rumple killing Neal would be so horrific, shipping aside. Rumple is pretty beloved on this show and the first two (even 2.5) seasons was about him trying to find his son and atone. So to go and find Nealfire, have a very rocky start to reconciliation, loose him, find him, come back together, sacrifice his life for him and then KILL HIM makes *zero* sense. It flies in the face of the arc for Rumple. And for Rumple to do it before Henry gets his memories back…wow. No.

    Ok I feel better.

    In other news

    1) Neal with cape and sword. GIF that someone, I beg of you

    2) She asked about him TWICE. TWICE!!! Without prompting

    3) We all get a second chance.

Am pretty much totally convinced that the hooded figure in SB is Neal, still in his FTL costume. Which led me to realise that Emma may very well see him in his FTL costume. Which made me think that I REALLY NEED THIS TO HAPPEN.

Yes, Emma brought up Neal again!  Plus, imagine if the walsh is a monkey story had not happened, and we just started with neal being a monkey?  Somehow the fact Emma’s already crossed that bridge makes it less off-putting in a way.  She already dated a monkey so if she wanted to date Neal and he gets cured of some curse to be one–well, no big deal.  Her tone came off that way to me, that it wasn’t scaring her for life any more than any of the other super-crazy things she’s experienced.

I just watched the promo for 3×14. At first, I was really horror-filled that Neal might be the hooded figure keeping Rapunzel captive in the EF, but then I saw him magically scale a tower wall. I was momentairly afraid that he had turned into the next dark one or something. Yet, then RG and Phee kindly reminded me that there may be more than one hooded figure: creepy one in EF and a different hooded figure in SB. I think the writers would totally allow the general audience to assume that Neal is one and the same as the creepy, magical creature in the EF who terrorized Rapunzel, but I have faith that’s not happening. I think there are going to be two different people, who each happen to be wearing a hood.

I’m hoping so and that it’s some sort of misdirect. My hope is that at the end of 3×14, it’ll be revealed that Neal is the hooded figure in SB and that it’s going to be Emma who finds him dressed in his Enchanted Forest leathers So, if Neal is one of two hooded figures, maybe he is incognito trying to work against Zelena and working undercover. Maybe he’s having secret rendezvous with Emma in the woods the entire time? Maybe Neal himself will give Emma back the swan pendant? I noticed that Emma confronts Hook at some point that he’s not telling her everything. What if Hook knows where Neal really is?

Where is Neal? Have you seen my Neal? He has a puppy smile and a puppy face? But he is not a puppy. He is my Neal. Have you seen my Neal?

Friendly reminder that in the ep where Emma asked about Neal’s safety (TWICE), we also got a Phoenix shoutout. A location that connects them and the firebird that rises from the ashes. Symbolism FTW.
