Incidentally, that is another reason why it makes absolutely NO sense for the spoiler of doom to happen before the season finale. Kill off one of Emma’s suitors for good this early and the writers risk losing a lot of momentum, suspense and reason to watch the show. There are too many balls up in the air; drop one and you can’t continue the juggling act until the last episode of the season when it’s finally time for the last act.

that is a fantastic point. it has been set up as a love triangle. Take away one of them before Emma makes her choice and you’ve cut the story off at the knees

there are story reasons why Neal shouldn’t die in 315-316 (I say shouldn’t because who knows what goes on inside A and E’s head) and there are spoiler reasons why it can’t be anyone else up until 321. We saw almost nothing of 321 and so far nothing of 322. I still think we’re looking at a Wedding, A Birth, and A Death for 322.

My predictions: The wedding is in the past (Rumbelle…somehow they save him there) and it’s held in the EF right before the WW casts her spell (I have this head canon that we see the WW put her plan into motion in 3×21 by casting the curse and 3×22 parallels that in showing how they get their memories back and finally defeat her and break that curse), the birth is obviously the present and it’s the Snowflake but I think it happens in 3×21 as well, and I think the spoiler of doom will actually happen in ep 3×22 as they’re fighting and eventually defeating the WW. I still don’t think anyone in the main cast is getting bonked off the show prior to the absolute season finale (ep 3×22) because A&E like to write those scenes themselves and that’s their next big episode aside from….3×19? Did they write that one too? I can’t remember now but still, my point remains that bonking anyone off before the finale makes NO sense story wise or for any other reason to be honest. Why not torture us for the entire second half of the season?! They’re trolls…they love to do that, LOL 😆

For people who think Neal “broke” Emma (from Schmacky)

To people that believe Neal broke Emma – I present this to you.

Neal broke Emma’s heart but he never broke her. No one has ever broken Emma. I’ve said this so many times before. She’s been down, she’s been hurt, but she’s never been broken. The closest she’s ever been to being broken is when Henry ‘died.’ Neal leaving broke her heart alright, but it’s not what closed her off to love. It’s not what closed her off to having relationships. To getting close to people.

Having to give up her son did. That’s the ultimate shift in Emma’s character. That’s why the writers created Walsh to begin with. To show the extreme in Emma’s life and emotional well-being with Henry in her life. She had these memories of raising her son and here she is.. having a very (what she thought) healthy adult relationship that could possibly be turning into marriage. I mean, for goodness sakes! She said she loved him! Before this, she’s only ever told Neal and Henry she loves them.

Emma Swan has been through pain and heartache in her life, but she’s still a well adjusted adult. The difference between how her life was like in The Pilot and NYC Serenade is all about Henry and Henry being in her life.

On the left side, she wasn’t that lost and sad woman alone on her birthday because of Neal. On the right, she isn’t that happy woman because of Neal.

    It’s because of Henry.

    Always because of Henry.

Again, the reason they created Walsh was to show that difference in Emma but they had him be a flying monkey because they didn’t really want to deal with the repercussions of Emma having yet another love interest

    x

Henry will always come first. His needs and concerns. And thus far, Neal has been the other person who said, and I quote, “he is what matters,” or “you gotta get our boy outta here.”

    THIS THIS THIS.

I love romance subplots. I’m here a lot obviously!  Yet it drives me crazy that people undervalue HENRY in Emma’s life.   One of the reasons I started shipping SF, to be honest, is that Neal showed concern about Henry even when doing so  wasn’t scoring him points with  Emma.  He was worried about Tamara as a potential step-mom, and that said to me that he didn’t think being Henry’s dad meant he had to be with Henry’s mom, and in a weird way, that sold me a bit more on SF.  If he chose to be with Emma, if Emma chose to be with Neal–it would be because they wanted each other, not because they had an old-fashioned idea that bio parents have to be saddled with each other or else be bad parents who ignore their child so they can have romance in their life.

Henry comes first, and Henry means a lot to each of them–and its just something that in turn sets up a common goal and attitude that I think makes Emma and Neal compatible as people who could truly bring out the best in each other.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Jo said this last night in chat but “home is wherever Henry is”

Henry is the single most important factor in Emma’s life.

Maybe that means she is with Neal. Maybe it means she is with Hook. But Henry always comes first
