ParticipantKFC you hit the nail right on the head. I love everything you said because that’s pretty much the stuff swirling inside my head that I can’t put to words. Can I please used your meta on tumblr! I will not take credit for it and I will not use your full name just your initials?
Oh, absolutely! You can use myscreename, its not like someone was cruel enough to name their kid after a fastfood chain and a mythical beast, so its just my “alter ego ” for fan purposes :).
I think it was your tumblr, awhile back you wrote something about how SF is your ship no matter what happens, and I thought that was fantastic too, and was going to quote it here for discussion. I think whatever happens in this show, I am always going to adore the story they told, because Neal does love Emma, and she does love him. I hope it leads to happily ever after, a reconciliation, because I think they want the same things out of life. They aren’t just looking for romance and adventure, they are looking for home and family. I root for them to find it, and in a shippy sense, root for it to be with each other because they’re cute together in those puppy love days, and the small few moments after he came back to challenge Rumple and before Tamara showed up. Outside of that it was angst, angst, angst, with always some reason they had to hold back a little what they might want to say under different, less life threatening or stressful circumstances. I definitely agree, these obstacles are the things keeping the story going, or else it would skip to the happy ending part far too easily.

Same. No matter what happens, this is my ship 🙂

S4: Kitchen Table season……WANT.THIS.TO.HAPPEN. 😀
I’m going down with this ship too. Nothing will ever convince me that they haven’t set this story up right from the start. I think we all need to do a SF S1 rewatch this summer just to see all those little things that have been in place since the show started. I might have to watch S2 again though too just because S1 is obviously missing MRJ and Neal’s awesome smiles and hugs. 😉
So many great things to read today and I agree with so many of them! Y’all say it way better than me though so I’ll just sit here and enjoy reading them rather than rambling aimlessly and saying most of the same things in a roundabout and insane way, LOL 😉

GAH. That would be so awesome! I think there would be much flailing and so many feels that we could probably send them right through the computer to each other, LOL 😀

ParticipantPhee wrote: About the 315 Sneak Peek, do we think that scream actually was Rumple, or was it Neal? Coz I’ve listened to it a bunch of times and I really think it might be Neal. The sound will no doubt be better in the actual ep to be able to tell for sure. If it’s Neal, I reckon they’re doing a bit of a fake out. Hear the scream, the audience thinks it sounds like Neal, oh nope, there’s Rumple, but then there’s a screeching monkey, so maybe the scream was Neal as he became the monkey, but then nope, Emma will run into human Neal when she’s chasing after Rumple, and then we’ll get the scene where Neal falls down and we get another scream to round out the whole little sequence. In this instance, I’m still going with my headcanon that Zelena had Neal prisoner too, and she’s just discovered that he and Rumple are both gone, so she’s torturing him a bit with whatever device she has to control him. Anyway, just figured I’d throw it out there to see if anyone else thinks the scream sounds Neal-ish too, or if I’m imagining things.
I think it’s possible. I repeated that scream and it does sound a bit Neal.

ParticipantI would totally be on board with a rewatch from the beginning over the summer. I mean it’s only been a couple of weeks since we started our rewatch here 😉 but I am always game!
There is so much stuff from the get-go. There are a couple of things even in the Pilot; I was skeptical about whether it was me seeing things through shipper goggles, but I read somewhere that JM was told from the beginning who Henry’s father was so I am not sure how much of the story she had to go on. The scene where she meets Henry includes: him asking her for a drink, her discussing her superpower, her threatening to call the cops on him and him instead convincing her to go home with him… Oh, and dare I mention that the candle on her cupcake is a star shape, so she is literally (in true Disney fashion) wishing upon a star?! I think there are actually more parallels buried in that episode (would catching a cab with a stolen credit card be the 10-year-old version of stealing a car?) but I might be digging a little too deep.
I watched Lost, so I knew these writers dropped hidden clues and easter eggs along the way. But until we sat down to rewatch the story, knowing what we should be looking for, I didn’t realize HOW MUCH stuff they’d buried in there. My bestie and I laugh and laugh about all of the stuff Henry does in S1 that makes him soooo their kid.
Plus there is my favorite line of maybe the whole thing – from Gold in the second episode – I think I need to make it my sig. He’s talking to Regina about seeing Emma with Henry, and says, “…I just seen her strolling down the main street with your boy. Thick as thieves, they looked.” RC draws out the “thick as theives,” emphisizes it just perfectly, and once you know the Emma/Neal story it is utterly BRILLIANT.
Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...

Both JMo and Bobby Carlyle were told about Baelfire from the start.

No such thing. I accept it!

Participantwow so many pages, wonder if until sunday we can reach 900.
Im going to stay here in this thread, because like was already said before by someone here, although here there are nice people, in the chat is a bit down now, especially because the cast will film in Stevenson and some people are already asking if MRJ will be there bc if not, we already know who dies, this sort of push people away, so im going to keep talking with you in the thread, is better and easy with no ship wars involve.
I still want to believe that Neal will survive, and we all have to believe that, bc negative thoughts attracts bad things and positivity good things, and no matter what, we cannot change anything, so let`s wish that everything will turn out ok.

ParticipantI made an observation about Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (OUAT in WL) in a different thread, but I’m posting it here because it relates to Emma, Hook and Neal. There have been a lot of parallels between the parent show and spinoff but one that sticks out to me is how Alice and Will have a great friendship which is non-romantic. They way Alice and Will relate is how I hope Emma and Hook’s relationship develops going forward. Emma and Hook have had a friends-with-benefits thing going on, and I see their relationship as having the same potential that Alice and Will do if only Hook could accept Emma sees him as a friend.
In the most recent episode “To Catch a Thief” I noticed that Alice captured Will, a thief, in a net just as Charming captured Snow, a bandit, in a net. While a common narrative, that is where the similarities end. Snow and Charming fell in love by that troll bridge, but Will’s role was to direct Alice onto her love story, which happens to be with someone else. Perhaps that’s because Will didn’t have his heart at the time, but even now that Will has his heart back, it still beats for Ana, not Alice. There was another romantic Snowing parallel, but it was with Cyrus and Alice. Charming felt the pain in his heart when Snow ate the poisoned apple, just as Alice felt a pain in her heart when Cyrus “died.” We all know that Anastasia and Cyrus will return to life in 1×13.
Alice and Cyrus are meant-to-be and Will is a good friend to Alice who pointed her on her way to her destiny. He said she was a great girl whose happy ending was just around the corner. Low and behold, that is when Alice stumbled on Cyrus’ genie bottle. Will and Alice’s relationship is actually closer to how I see Emma and Hook’s relationship on the parent show, except that Hook pines for Emma whereas Will never did for Alice. Both Hook and Will have the best one-liners and the quintessential British phrases like “bloody hell.” I hope Hook will end up helping Emma reunite with her true love, Neal, just as Will prompted Alice onto her happy ending with her intended, Cyrus.
I’m glad to see Will and Alice have a platonic friendship across the gender divide. There aren’t enough of those types of friendships on the parent show. I suppose David and Ruby have a similar dynamic going on of a platonic friendship, but we never got to see their friendship develop, except in “Child of the Moon.” Emma and August gave off a similar sibling vibe like Alice and Will do, but of course, August is now a little boy again. I love that Alice reminds Will of his sister, who died tragically. I can’t describe how lovely it is to see two adults of the opposite gender decide that their friendship means just as much to them as their romances with their respective partners, Cyrus and Anastasia. Will repeatedly risked his life to help Alice reunite with Cyrus, and he risked his life to save Alice, even when he had a chance to revive Ana. Alice likewise risked her own neck to get Will’s heart back for him.
I’m so glad that OUAT in Wl decided not to make Will and Alice romantically interested in one another or to make a love triangle between Cyrus-Alice-Will. It’s so refreshing to have a sibling type dynamic between non-related individuals. OUAT could learn a thing or two from OUAT in WL. No more love triangles, fake fiancés or the like. It’s enough for friendship to take the center stage as a real and valid form of platonic love which rings true. That is the sort of relationship I want to see develop for Emma and Hook.
