I made an observation about Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (OUAT in WL) in a different thread, but I’m posting it here because it relates to Emma, Hook and Neal. There have been a lot of parallels between the parent show and spinoff but one that sticks out to me is how Alice and Will have a great friendship which is non-romantic. They way Alice and Will relate is how I hope Emma and Hook’s relationship develops going forward. Emma and Hook have had a friends-with-benefits thing going on, and I see their relationship as having the same potential that Alice and Will do if only Hook could accept Emma sees him as a friend.
How about this for parallel?
First time Alice meets Will: she pulls a knife on him because he was sent by CORA to kill her.
First time Emma meets Hook: she pulls a knife on him because he was sent by CORA to kill her.
First time Alice and Will go on an adventure: Alice breaks into Cora’s vault to take back Will’s heart
First time Emma and Hook go on an adventure: Emma breaks into Tiny’s house to take back a compass.
Now how about this?
First time Alice meets Cyrus: she breaks into his house (the bottle)
First time Emma meets Neal: she break into his house (the bug)
First moments between Alice and Cyrus: over a drink while discussing family
First moments between Emma and Neal: over a drink
That is the sort of relationship I want to see develop for Emma and Hook.

Nope. @Rainbow was saying the same thing. I believe Rumple’s happy ending solidly includes his son; he said so in 3×4. Take away Neal and Rumple, Henry and Emma lose out. It just doesn’t make sense.

No matter what, Neal is going to be meaningful to her because he’s always going to be the father of Henry.
And the time that she did spend with Neal before he was forced to let her go was really wonderful.
