The weirdest thing about that wording for me is that the necklace wasn’t really bourne out of TL, exactly. Procured, yes, but not bourne. Particularly as they have something that WAS born out of TL – he’s about 11, 5′ tall, brown hair, pretty awesome…

But I agree that it’s curious they chose the same wording there.

Finally fell asleep but it lasted like 90 minutes. I sleep like junk anyways but that’s a bit extreme, even for me. So you probably are insane, Marty, but you’re not alone. šŸ™‚

I definitely agree something is rotten in Denmark here. I am just afraid to hope the rottenness will go our direction. FWIW, my roommate (casual watcher who just barely has her toe in the edges of fandom) is convinced he’s not dead. I’ve explained to her the spoiler and the comments on a “for real” death and she shrugs. So from a non- diehard POV, there’s that. From a diehard POV, I’m too invested to have casual hope… bizarre as that sounds. Though I keep coming back to that 2/28 Twitter pic…

(ETA: Incidentally one of her points is that she didn’t kiss him – we didn’t get a TLK. It does seem like a rather glaring omission, but was it left out for plot/return reasons or “We don’t want to ‘seal the deal’ on them being TL so we’ll just cop out by having Belle say it.”?)

BTW sorry for serial posting in here. I need to talk it out and had to let poor roomie go to bed. Also, I am terrifically sorry for all over my cheerleader posts over the past few days. Guess I let my belief in hope, love and a well-written story cloud my vision of how badly a fan base could be messed over by TPTB…

Also, my crack theory. Back in season 2, as Whale’s backstory played out, he was called a “Wizard” more than once. Given that we are now in Oz, I expect that may be significant. Certainly, I would not really want a Frankenstein-style resurrection, but so have to give it a moment’s pause as it crossed my mind.

It DOES seem like a glaring omission, especially considering they have basically confirmed via Belle that SF = TL. Belle’s line could have been a setup because they have a TLK in store in future and they didn’t want it to come completely out of the blue. Perhaps?

No need to apologise for either thing! I said before this ep that I didn’t see how it would make sense for them to kill Neal, so I really didn’t think it would happen, and I stand by that statement that it makes no sense, actually, it makes even less sense than I’d anticipated.

Neal had a burned symbol on his hand when he “died” just like Philip had when he “died” yet Philip is still running around impregnating Aurora and they still haven’t shown us how Aurora and Mulan got Philip back, even through dialogue.

It would be a perfect parallel to show us that story, if Emma was attempting the same thing with Neal in present day.

That’s an excellent point, PoM. And we do know that we’re gonna see Philora again in a couple of eps, so perhaps this is the storyline they’re bringing them back for?

I thought of the wraith, too.

More & more I am on the “this isn’t over” bandwagon. Eternal optimism may be annoying, but sometimes it is well-served.

Remember, this duo is represented by Phoenix, mythical firebird that rises from the ashes.

You, Phee and others amazingly find ways to find the silver lining in an otherwise dark situation. I love all of my fellow Neal fans who believe in the power of true love. I would LOVE to see Neal return one day. If Philip can be revived, might Neal still make a comeback? Reminds me of the parallels between Will and Ana when she died right before his eyes. I was thinking Neal might be the death which gets reversed that was hinted at during the winter break. I’m not holding much hope, but you all inspire me. I also find it strange that MRJ has not tweeted his fans farewell; reminds me of when Rumple “died” and Bobby Carlyle was silent on Twitter until it was revealed Rumple might be alive still.

    Hello guys.

Well first I just want to send you all tons and tons of hugs and all my love because this just… I have no words.

I haven’t seen the episode yet, I live in Europe, but when I woke up at 4AM I couldn’t resist checking the forum quickly, because of that spoiler that left us worried for a long while. Well I ended up not going back to sleep and I honnestly felt devasted and speechless, unable to even understand correctly.

When ONCE was first annonced, I was really excited… a show about fairy tales, well that could get cheesy but that also could be wonderful… I’m, like many, afteral a Disney movie addict who thinks they are indeed a good remedy in time of sadness and stress.

I quickly fell in love with ONCE… especially quick because the show also offered a good role to the awesome Robert Carlyle. Season 1 Graham died and I should have remembered that. I wasn’t especially in love with Graham, I wasn’t cheering for Gremma, though they didn’t annoy me either but when he died I felt a bit terrible about it : the guy was a good guy who really had a shitty deal in my eyes. Years and years of slavery is the price he paid for comiting a good deed by saving Snow; the guy finally remembers who he is, falls in love and BADABOOM!

Honnestly I felt really sad for Graham and I guess it was just foreshadowing.

Neal I won’t dwelve long because you all said it : he was a great guy, brave and selfless, devoted to others. He wasn’t perfect and that’s also what made him so damn lovable. And I guess, because he was so human, Neal embodied us viewers a bit : if Neal, after having had to face so much s… in his (LONG!) life could find hapiness, that means maybe we could all, that it’s worth fighting for. On a more personal level I was also cheering for SwanFire like mad because Neal and Emma’s story has echoes of my own.

I think I’m done with the show. I can’t watch a show where bullies, mass murderers (and I do like Regina, a Ā lot) gets redemption and a shot at happiness while the good guys gets screwed over and over again. The world has a Ā tendency Ā to be unfair enough as it is. I thought I was watching a show about fairy tales, about love, forgiveness and second chances… oh yeah, that’s right, let’s give a second chance to the fandom “eyecandy” and screw over the good guy.

I had a fucking shitty year, I’m heartbroken, I work in “legal dispute” (which is not easy everyday) and I didn’t need this #@! show to tell me happiness and good things only belong to bullies.

Sorry for the vent, the bad grammar as well <3

Glad to know I’m not the only one who couldn’t sleep last night. It took forever to fall asleep, and then I kept waking up so often that eventually I just had to give up. I feel like I’m in mourning over a bad breakup or something. It’s awful and I hate that it’s all over a TV show.

A friend came to watch last night’s episode for moral support, but then afterwards we got into a debate about the finality of his death. I appreciate that my friend was trying to play devil’s advocate and give me some sort of hope, but I just can’t right now. It’s not fair to us if this is another fake-out, for us to get so emotionally invested in Neal, and especially in his death, only for A&E to pop up later and be all “Just kidding!”. I can’t get emotionally attached again.

I had just hoped so badly that all the spoilers and jerks who kept singing songs of Neal’s demise would be wrong, and it just hurts so much that they take so much pleasure out of a good character, a good person being wasted, distorted, and tossed aside. I hated that there was no TLK. Yes, it made Rumple crazy, but Neal should have stayed part of him until they could have found another way, or a curse to keep him suspended in time until they could fix it later. It’s like the mandate was “You have to kill him. Doesn’t matter how, just do it.” My relationship with the show is forever damaged now. How can I believe in happy endings, the whole premise of the show, if the person who deserved it the most will never get theirs, but all of the villains will be redeemed and get theirs? I just don’t know how to process that right now.
