ALSO, I canNOT believe that they didn’t hype this as a death show. Why not?! That is where the ratings come in. People who’ve left come back for that type of stuff. The silence only begs conjecture at this point.

Absolutely no build up to his death + no exit interview = MRJ wanted off and ABC is trying to keep it hush hush

And in a way that makes things even worse because … I don’t know about you guys, but I had this picture in my head of a very close, very fun-loving cast that genuinely liked each other and working together. And this blows that all to heck.

Could ABC tell the ENTIRE cast not to tweet? Would they listen? Ugh.

So did I. They were all friendly. They went out for drinks and joked around online…and then….this.

So maybe MRJ didn’t want out so much as A and E decided they needed him out

Why? Actor discontent is legendary. And what right does ABC have to gag MRJ? MRJ can still do an exit interview and keep it classy. “I enjoyed my time on the show.” “That was a powerful episode for me, JMo, and RC.” “There are exciting things still in store for viewers.” Etc.

And MRJ has FANS. Why wouldn’t he at least send a “thank you for all your support. It means so much.”

And if he wanted off, they still could have kept him through the end of 3B to wrap it up properly. You can’t tell me with the good relations he had on set that he couldn’t stick it out long enough to make HIS OWN FANS happy… which should outweigh any desire to escape internet bullying. That’s all we’re saying. It’s okay if you leave. Actors leave all the time. Sometimes, God forbid, actors even die. The storyline may be adjusting. But do it with respect.

Slurpeez: ITA and MRJ is not the type of person to lead fans on about anything either so those pics and tweets confuse the crap out of me too. WTH are they doing with this whole story? I’m torn between wanting to give MRJ a huge hug (which I would want to do anyway but I feel like they forced him do some of those things to throw off the fans) and wanting to bash A&E over the heads with bricks.

Someone please say something or do an interview….ANYTHING at this point! I don’t care if it’s barely morning on the west coast; WAKE UP and talk to us about this mess! 🙁

We’re having an Opening Day picnic here at work and I can’t even eat my food right now. I wish it was 4:30 PM so I could be on my way home from work right now to hide in my room for the rest of the day.

Hey guys….Hugs to you all…because it’s just been a painful night. Just catching up… Sorry if this is going to be a bit long. But I just want to put out all of my thoughts, after calming down a bit. I haven’t had much sleep last night because I was so distraught, so much so that I actually took sick from work today. Everything from last night just hurts and it didn’t help that I was unable to finish my freelance work because of it hence taking my sick day to finish and cry to myself at home.

^^^Accurate portrayal of my face at this very moment.

I feel so foolish and silly because it’s just a damn show and I’ve never reacted to something like this, EVER. But I’ll admit it shook me to my core. I knew Neal’s death was a possibility but never have I thought they would create such a cop out way to end his character that pretty much destroyed the whole core of the show in the process. I think this is why I’m so numb at the moment, the disbelief that they cut the cord to his character in the WORST WAY POSSIBLE. No resolution, no build up, no grand finale, nothing! I also think I wouldn’t be nearly as upset if they didn’t have the principles that the show pushes in our faces almost every single episode then have it completely thrown out the window. It was as if they dangled and teased HOPE and SECOND CHANCES in front of us only to rip it away so cruelly.
I remember Emma’s line in Season 1: “Not having a Happy Ending is painful enough. Giving someone unrealistic hope is far worse.” WOW what a way for the writer’s to slap the audience’s face on how true I feel that sentence is now. That’s the main reason why I’m so embittered.
Right now I want to believe that maybe just maybe there’s some reason why they did this so soon in the season to bring Neal back later, but I feel too scared to have hope and to have a tv show do that to me is just disturbing, especially a family show. I just want the cast and crew to address this episode so that I can move on.

People are saying it was a good episode. It was alright acting wise but everything else was such a cop out in the lowest of levels. I didn’t think they could stoop this low from “Selfless Brave and True”, but wow they actually showed me that they can! It has its moments but none of them meant anything since THERE WAS NO BUILD UP TOWARDS ANYTHING! Hook’s apology to Belle was half-ass, don’t even get me started on CaptainFire. Of all times to have it, it had to be Neal’s death episode, which was such a slap in the face since I didn’t even hear Hook apologizing for selling Bae to Pan! A last ditch effort to make Hook look half way decent at the last moment, when it actually made him look worse in my eyes.

Ok trying to write up something a bit more positive….
The only scene I had the heart to re-watch was this moment right here:

Out of everything from the episode however short changed it was, I’m glad that we got this brief moment. The moment they were together they instantly lit up. The only saving grace was JMO and MRJ’s acting. This is what True Love is. Making the person you love smile a real smile even after all the hurt and pain that they’ve gone through. Being so comfortable and close to each other as if they were your second skin. And Neal putting his best feet forward in being concerned about EMMA’s wellbeing and happiness not his own. It speaks volumes on what LOVE actually is. Neal will always be 1000x time the man then any other character on the show. That scene I will forever hold dear to my heart if Neal is really dead and gone forever.

Q: Also question I have, maybe it’s already been brought up. I’ve re-watched some scenes but Neal actually Thanked Hook for getting the message to Emma to come back to Storybrooke. Was it Neal who sent the message to Hook? I was a little confused by this. Does this mean Neal knows more then he’s letting on? It was odd since he said he doesn’t remember anything from the past year.

I do agree. And I think we need some closure from everyone but so far…nothing. Not one word from anyone.

I think there may be some too literal taking of the “the actor will leave the show” line. I’m not sure that this means, post death, that they are not eligible to wrap up any loose lines within the same season. I simply think this means that the actor will leave the show once the death is cleaned up. If we need a couple of flashbacks to tie up the loose knots, I think A&E won’t see this as lying to the fans. The character is DEAD. The actor is leaving the show. They never said the death would be the absolute last scene… considering how the entire show is built around shifting timelines.

EDIT: Or maybe I only saw a requote of the quote? I don’t remember. Pls correct me.

I really don’t want Neal flashbacks at this point. The idea that he’ll be back on my screen in the past and just remind me that he died this horrible stupid death….

The original article said the actor would leave the show and not be available for flashbacks
