ParticipantI popped in right now and just glanced at chat….ugh. But tonight we must take it over. The Voice is on and I want to live chat it. We can drown out any else. I’m very good at ignoring Once talk and talking over others. 😀 I won’t let this show chase me away from our regular routine. Every Monday night we live chat The Voice. And remember Grimm comes back on Friday. I will be in there for that. Plus, we have the Wonderland finale. We can make it through.
From what I’ve gathered from what I’ve seen elsewhere, and I’ve avoided tumblr, is that people aren’t upset that Neal died. They are, don’t get me wrong. We’re devastated, but the real problem and anger lies with HOW it happened. The plotting was mind scratching, the writing was off and nothing made sense. Neal being called a villain? Being merged into his father for who knows how many months? Not getting to see Henry at all, even a glimpse of his son, before he’s gone? It just doesn’t make sense. The disgust has absolutely NOTHING to do with shipping. It’s an assassination of a character. But maybe that was the point. Tear him down so we’ll be all “Awww….” that someone else is there for Emma and Henry. Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way. I’d rather have her paired with the monkey. At least she was happy for eight months with him.
I see people having hope that there has to be a loophole or something that Neal will come back by season’s end. I can in a way see how this could happen, but it’s not going to. The silence, the way the show was handled, everything speaks to it being final. They’re just going in a different direction with the show. And where that is is mind boggling. I’m beginning to appreciate the greatness of Season 2 now. I had hopes for 3B after a lackluster 3A for me because everyone is back in Storybrooke, but it’s just lost that magic. I seriously want to know what happened in that writers room when they were plotting out each half of the season to seriously believe either half would be gripping and fascinating.
I’m beginning to think my niece was correct with her idea that the concept of the show would have made a much better movie or miniseries.

ParticipantI’ve wanted to watch Terriers but have yet to start it.
On one hand, Wonderland is kind of like my hope right now, but that’s ending for good, so… yeah. Just sad. But I’m glad for the way Wonderland has been going because at least there’ll be one episode to be excited for after this horrendous turn of events.

Character assignation. His final episode and they just decided “hey! he’ll do a thing he’s never done before” Cause reasons

Agreed. For those of you who still have hope, that’s great. But I don’t

ParticipantRG, if you have the strength to do the podcast this week, please represent us well! I know Daniel and Jeremy seem to like Neal well enough, but I notice that they tend to spend little time, or even skip over his moments. Since this episode was all about Neal, I feel much better knowing that someone who understands what he really meant to all of us is participating in the podcast and can explain to everyone WHY this episode was so awful, and not just because of the death. <3

ParticipantOh I don’t have much hope so please don’t think I’m holding onto much because it is SO not me right now, LOL 😆
I just want some closure from someone, ANYONE, at this point and the silence is driving me batty. Just come out and face the music over this and quite frankly, MRJ could come out and say just about anything about this whole mess and I’d still follow him to the ends of the earth and support him no matter what. I just can’t see how this was planned right from the start and I want to know the reasoning behind it because I think we deserve an honest explanation.
MRJ has a movie coming out later this spring called Road to Paloma that looks really good (also stars Jason Mamoa) and I think it opens in late April/early May. I’ll try to find that info and the trailer when I get home later tonight. I know he’s been in some other movies but Terriers is my go to thing right now. I will be watching The Voice later so if I can handle being in chat later, I will be around to chat some but I can’t make any promises at this point. I am severely tired today and may end up going to bed early just so I can let my body heal from this whole mess. I don’t think I got even three hours of sleep last night so I have no clue how I’m still functioning right now! 😮

I am going to try my hardest.
I listened to the initial reactions a little bit ago and am frankly a little shocked at how light they were treating this subject

I’m rather appalled at the whole Adam showing his face when he saw someone accuse him of not being around and then vanished just as fast.
It feel callus

I felt the same way. Not to belittle Daniel and Jeremy, but my heart was breaking and hearing all their laughter while talking about the episode felt like someone was twisting the knife a little. I would probably just skip this week’s full podcast entirely if I didn’t know you were part of it now.

KeymasterWhat about Emma’s character development?!
It would be EASIER for her to loose Neal than to face all the pain they went through??
Savior’s don’t take the easy path. It’s not in their trope. It’s antithetical to their trope, actually.
So now what…Emma grieves for one episode and then moves on?!
