ParticipantRG, massive Rumbellish hugs for you. I’m heartbroken too…this hurt so much to watch. And it was starting out soooo good…they…they acknowledged so much that has been missing for a season or so…and then then …then…
*sobs*

KeymasterI can’t stop crying. And I can’t be in chat. Everyone is just sorta “ah he died. Sad, but time to move on!” and I’m here wondering how I’m supposed to even watch next week or care ever again.

ParticipantMy husband has been walking around this morning just as shocked as I am. He makes me feel that much more sane, though. People fail to understand how it has nothing to do with shipping, or even about losing a fav character. He sees all the weirdness in the ep and the *reason* he had to die was just lame. He makes me feel so much better about how I feel. How all of us feel. They can say it’s all our emotions running wild and they can say it’s just grief, etc. But deep down it’s just so much more than that. It’s so much bigger. I don’t appreciate people just brushing off our reactions about the show as emotional. First, I mean, what is wrong with emotional in the first place? But second of all, it really underestimates peoples’ ability to watch a show as a whole. Please. Don’t act like I am all upset because a fictional character died and it will jsut blow over and it’s all about the emotion of dying. Using that as a way of brushing our LEGITIMATE opinions about the quality of the episode is just wrong. “the only reason they’re upset is because Neal died. The writers can do what they want.” YES. I have been an ADVOCATE for that for forever now. The problem is, Kalinda Vasquez was not up for the challenge to do ADAM AND EDDY– THE ORIGINAL CREATORS AND WRITERS OF MOST NEAL PARTS– justice. We can still be objective about the show. We can still have a valid opinion based in reality. Ugh. So much was out of place in this ep, so much dialogue didn’t even make sense and wasn’t even consistent. Being upset about that has NOTHING to do with whining that we didn’t get our way. Neal saying he finally gets to sacrifice himself for his family for the first time is just ABSURD. That’s not whining that I didn’t get my way. THAT IS INCONSISTENT WITH 55+ EPISODES OF THIS TELEVISION SERIES. And it’s OKAY to be upset over writing as absurd as that.
Keeper Nealfire's/Bae's scarf, Henry and Neal's bribery ice cream sundae, Baelfire's sword, the coconut map, and more.

Yeah I’m rather *rage* about that right now.

I completely agree. I’m totally upset that he’s gone of course. But I’m even more upset with the way it was handled. The lines and the plot and the idiocy of it all.

ParticipantCould ABC tell the ENTIRE cast not to tweet? Would they listen? Ugh.
The thing is, is that say the cast all tweeted him heartfelt goodbyes, and then it turns out it was all just a bluff. The cast would have essentially gone out of their way to deceive the fandom, and THAT is some bad PR. If they tweet anything now that ISN’T a heartfelt goodbye, then everyone would be all, “Why aren’t they tweeting MRJ FFS?!” Which is why I’m suspicious of their silence.
He can’t give an exit interview if he hasn’t actually exited, but he can’t say anything else and ignore the fact that his character just died because that would be a spoiler that he’s not really dead. So basically, no one can say anything right now if he is indeed still on the show. So I’m still hanging in there unless and until someone says something official, but if the lack of any official word keeps up, I actually take it as a positive sign.

Yes, there is a whole public that is not following the online shipping drama and just following the show. There are PLENTY of people just watching… not Googling for spoilers, reading forums/Twitter/Tumblr, just showing up on Sundays (or later via web) enjoying the show. These people have been let down. Can you imagine having not heard the SoD and just being whacked with that? Whatever anyone says, we have been at least digesting this for a while in some form. Other people, not so lucky.

I like your positivity but I’m just…not buying it 🙁 I think ABC hushed them, I really do.
Like I said Neal is the new Tamara. They’re going to forget him

KeymasterMy mom watches with me, as a casual viewer. She never sees the twists coming that we all know about well in advance. She said last night’s episode was pointless, hard to follow and made her not want to watch again because of how they wasted Neal’s character. So yeah, the casual viewer is p-o’ed too.
I think my mom was more concerned about me because I couldn’t stop crying for hours.
I just read the press release for 316. I can’t even begin to care.

ParticipantI’m just still in shock that Adam, who argues with everyone on line, is completely silent to his critics today. He’s always going back and forth with the angry SQ fans… or even those CS fans upset over the hug-that-was-not. So what, he can’t face the angry SF fans? What gives?
