Emma + Baelfire = Swanfire

A Tribute to Baelfire. I haven’t written anything in the forums for a while…but I just felt like I needed to say something about him. I owe it.

Baelfire was a hero. He was brave, kind, and selfless. And he was good. True to his heart, as anyone ever was. And with everything he could desire- all he wanted was to have a family. His good heart was not tainted- even though he suffered through abandonment, betrayal, pain, loss and hardship. His life was truly a sorrowful one- and for all the good he was, he did not deserve all the pain he lived through.

Bae deserved…so much more. He deserved to have a mother. He deserved to grow up with his father. He deserved to find true love. He deserved to have the family that he had always had been longing for. But it was not to be- because he was left by his mother, abandoned by his father. Betrayed by people he trusted, and sent to grow up in another world alone.

Years later, Bae found Emma- and he fell for her. She was the one bright spot of happiness in his life of sadness. But when posed with the choice of letting the woman he truly loved go and be with her family or keeping her for himself, our selfless Bae chose to let her go. How could he deny Emma the joy of being with her family, when he knew she longed for a family just as he did? So with a broken heart, Bae walked away from the only happiness he’d found- because he thought it was in Emma’s best interest. He only wanted her to be happy- and to him, her happiness was more important than his own.

Later, upon reuniting, his heart was broken all over again when realizing what he’d done to Emma- leaving her with a child. He got to know his son- and later, he sacrificed himself again- so that Emma and Henry could be together. And again he was betrayed by someone close to him- (Tamara.) And not to mention- Neal ended up forgiving his Father, even after his father abandoned him. As fate would have it, eventually Bae was reunited with his family again- only to lose his father, and then proceed to lose Emma and his son once again.

So. Much. Pain.

He then fought with everything he had left in him to get back to them. He ended up saving his father, yet again sacrificing his own happiness- giving his life to save everyone. To save his family. He died in Emma’s arms- a hero. But even while he was dying, his concern wasn’t for himself- but for Emma and Henry. He made her promise that they would be happy- while he was drawing his last breaths.

How beautiful is that? He was so good. He was.

A hero who lived a sorrowful life full of pain. He deserved so much more than what he got. He deserved to be happy- and he deserved SO MUCH to be loved. Neal will never be forgotten- and nor will his sacrifices. He will always have a place in Emma’s heart- and he will always have a place in ours. Forever.

RG : i can totally understand your hurt because I didn’t experience something like this. But if they… man, sorry that’s why I don’t like the fandom… if they give you, if they behave this way, they are morons, and that’s all. Sorry, I’ll take responsability for the insult, but I think it’s fair.

To my sawn, lecygne : sorry I’m super hurt and I just don’t listen tonight. But you are made of awesome, really. I’m hugging you very tight, there! =)

To all my SFers shippers : I love you guys, really, and as said, I’m super proud of you.  No matter the shit we went through and yup had to deal with, you all kept nice, logical, intelligent. That’s one of the many reasons I’m a proud SFer.

I love you guys. I’m so sick and tired about what happened but I guess our idea of an happy ending is the right one. Can we give RG a huge hug?

I love you all and thank you for all the beliefs and everything. Neal died, I honnestly think he won’t come back and… well I’ll shut up or I’ll be rude but I am so proud of you guys and more in love with my ship right now, because, ah let’s face it, INTELLIGENT and GREAT people ship it. And I keep believing that there is a world and place where love, intelligence and CARING matters. And you all proved that to me <3

I was all ready to argue semantics until that last article. Guess I still could. I have an awesome crack theory, but no dice – maybe I’ll fanfic it.

This story sucks, guys – it sucks. I have so much incredulousness it’s not even funny.

Ugh. I cannot do this anymore. Nealfire is a creation of A&E. They can do whatever they want. We can say they “ruined it” or whatever, but ultimately, he is theirs. And if we accept their account of his arc, then their intent was always to destroy him.

Therefore, I refuse to mourn any longer. NF is apparently completely disposable. We – as fans – are disposable. This is a fictional character whose only goal – in all appearances – was to get people to think he was end game and then to kill him off at random.

The love triangle, the SoD were not the diversions. Swanfire was the diversion.

Separate NF from SF. Separate NF from MRJ. Put on the retrospective goggles. NF was a complete waste. SF was a distraction from the epic story of _____, and I don’t care to find out what _____ is.

@dontstopbelievin and @lecygne : yes guys forgive me, I sux at the forum quotes and technalities. And at english :p

Honnestly I was sure our Neal was a goner before you guys came. You, as technical viwers saw SF as end too. I really, have faith into that too, to me it seems, if spoiler left, Neal and Emma were the most natural, an awesome love story. The poesy of the savior falling in love with whom the curse was created for and the poesy of everyday…  Some stories are made in such a way, you can’t stop loving someone. You go through a hell of hurt, forgive, have a hard time to forget, goes into a mess and understand you love tat person, point.

God I need to sleep, I shouldn’t be here anymore. But what I mean is. If I wanted to write a beautiful, true, love story about real love and how real love can be hard, I would have written about Neal and Emma. Seriously.

My other point is… we have been a lot hurt, yes TV show or not, for god’s sake I woke up at 4 AM and wanted to check what was going on… but once again I’m super proud of the fandom and of you guys. My only regret is to have lurked. You’re my SF family.

Nope. Sorry. A&E set up a clear, epic, poetic story. At some point they decided to change course – their opinions changed, network, fan pandering, whatever. It’s their show, they have every right to do what they want. But I have eyes and ears, and as someone who has just watched all of S1 & S2 in the last two weeks, the writing was on the wall for this duo. A&E just decided to… repaint. Instead of “Hope, love and second chances,” we’re not wallpapered in, “Life sucks and then you die.”

Excuse me if I choose not to live in that house.
