I think I got mad. A part of me want that the raiting drops the next episodes that they get what they really did on Quiet Minds.

Heros don't get their Happy Ending!

I’m not completely caught up in here yet, but I just posted a thing in the thread about if this is still a show about hope or not, and thought I’d share the link to my rant

I agree. And everyone seems to be turning it into, “he was finally a hero” because for so many, tragically, Bae was never Neal.

I hate this. I hate that we’re being told our guy was a villain and unheroic and that we need to get over it

Life sucks, and then you die. That’s our modern fairy tale.

PREACH. and everyone keeps trying to tell me/us: “Good people die!” “Not everyone gets a happy ending”

Nope, apparently you have to be a villain or anti hero in order to live and save a future.

His death meant NOTHING and it was character assassination and OOC moments. And THAT’s why we’re angry. He should have died in 221 for real. At least that was dignified

In the previous episode, they had Regina tell Henry that one day he’d have more family than he knew what to do with. And in this ep they killed has father. Are they for real?

Wow. Didn’t even think about that. Wow

Imagine if they did bring him back…
    And Emma saw him again…
And given their conversations in the woods…
She knows he holds no grudges for Walsh, because he’s been there too…
She knows that they totally get each other in that respect…
As well as in so many other respects because they still get along like old times…
And she knows that he honestly, truly, has no expectations from her…
She knows for sure that the “date” at Granny’s really wasn’t him pressuring her…
She knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that all he wants is for her to find happiness…
And having lost him the way she did, she now knows and can admit to herself and everyone else, without reservations, that having him back would make her happy, because she’s NOT gonna lose him again.

I need this in fanfic, if not the actual show.

friendly reminder that a stolen convenience store keychain survived the reversal of the dark curse because it became a symbol of true love between two lost kids who hadn’t felt loved by anyone.

Screw them. We know that Nealfire was always a hero and the fact that others didn’t see that until it was too late tells us more about how they watch the show than anything else. I know what I saw with his story and I saw a heroic guy right up until the end and even though they screwed up a lot of things in this last episode, I will never forget what all he did for the other people in his life or the love he shared with Emma. I’m still a little teary today about things but I think I’m slowly graduating into the jaded and angry phase of my feelings now. I’m becoming very MEH about anything related to the show and the more Adam tweets about things or A&E do interviews, the more MEH I’m becoming about Once because I don’t feel like they truly understand or watch their own show. 🙁 (BTW-I can totally see how they could have created a loophole or two to bring Neal back but unless that purpose is for him to finally see Henry, I don’t know how interested I would be in seeing that because it would just feel false after all the crap they’ve put us through since Sunday night.)

    @Phee
    – LOVED your comments in that other thread (although they almost made me cry at work, LOL) and I agree with you. This show has lost it’s way and the hope that they’re always preaching about just isn’t there anymore. What happened to those guys? Did they get too many toys out of the box? Did they really think that killing someone as pivotal as Nealfire would be beneficial to their whole theme of hope?! Ugh. They should stop talking at this point because no one believes anything they say anymore. Not surprised at all that the TV Guide poll has almost all Jeers in it for this episode. I haven’t found many people who are all that happy about how this all happened the other night. 🙁

Random: I started watching Terriers last night and HOLY CRAP, it really is awesome!! I only got to watch the pilot because I didn’t have time to watch more but it was fantastic and truly lets MRJ and his buddy Donal shine together. They’re pretty hilarious overall but also have really sweet sides to their characters. I can see why so many people still love this show after four years of it being gone. I think it’s a treasure and like nothing else on TV right now. I wish they would bring it back or at least do a movie so I could look forward to more Hank and Britt! 😀 And watching this show made me feel a lot better about MRJ leaving Once. Mikey is SO talented and he should have his pick of ANYTHING he wants project wise so hopefully we hear more about his career soon. I was going to binge watch this show but now I want to just savor it and watch it episode by episode. Definitely recommend that you guys check it out! Mikey is so adorkable in parts of it that I couldn’t help smiling like a doofus at times last night, LOL 😉

I think that’s what gets me. If this has been planned for the whole season – it should have been planned better. This is a show that has pieces of 2×06 buried in 1×01… heck it has pieces of 3×12 buried in 1×01! If they had planned this since the summer, they could have planned it… better. The entire thing felt very shoddy, very thrown together, very last minute. If there was some sort of reason for it, okay, perhaps they had to leave themselves plot holes down the road. But to spend six months planning an out-of-character, bizarre, forced, rushed finale… it’s just weird.

I mean why not drag it out? Oh no, the guys are melded. One should be dead… how do we separate them? What happens after we do? Perhaps a thorough examination by Whale (*cough*thewizard*cough) would be in order? Something to drag out the “will Neal die?” suspense. Perhaps calling for some help, or… an ambulance? Or begging Rumple to fix it? “You can fix it right?” “Nope.” “K cool. Bye yo!” Really???

They completely twisted the characters around to get Neal off the canvas. It is so, so weird. Like they HAD to make him dead and it HAD to be in this one episode. WTF was their rush to move from plot point A to plot point B? They couldn’t even do it in a manner that made sense? I am still sticking to them wanting to take Emma dark, which is a HORRIBLE idea, but this provides the motivation needed. Plot point to get in the self-contained arc of WWW. And if it is for the larger arc of the show, wherever they wanted to take it, they couldn’t do it with Neal around.

Incidentally, my roommate pointed out he was in the exact same number of episodes in S2 as S3. Why make him a regular if you planned him to die halfway through? Particularly as he missed a chunk of each arc – arriving late to the storytelling in both Neverland & WWW. It seems that recurring would have served them fine for their purposes.

It’s all of these weird things that make me think something is rotten in Denmark. Because if not, they just wrote haphazard bad stuff, and that hurts a lot more.

Zelena did have the line about him not seeing the forest through the trees. I guess that is what we are supposed to figure is going on here. The problem I gave with that is when I zoom back to see the Once forest, I’ve always seen it as two familial lines, culminating in a Lost Boy and a Lost Girl, who need each other to find their way home. When you remove one of them, you effectively pillage and undermine half of the forest… and leave the other Lost Child hopelessly lost… forever.

It’s not a bold storytelling choice. TLK not just being romantic was bold. 2×21 was bold. PP as Rumple’s father was bold. This is either idiocy or a cop-out, and I’m not sure which is worse.

Forgive my endless rankings, the shock of it all has worn off and now I am trying to figure out the why… with a most unsatisfying conclusion.

Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...

I thought I was doing better this morning until Say Something came on the radio. Kinda took on a whole new meaning. All I kept hearing in my head was “Go find Tallahassee…” they HAD Tallahassee. Right there in the woods, right before he left her.. they had it. I’m so flipping mad at this show.

That talk in the woods was PERFECT and it was everything we’ve been saying: they were happy once, they get each other, there is no awkwardness, there is only easy understand, they’ve both been through the whole fake finacee evil doer thing.

God. This would have been the perfect SF episode if not for character deterioration and death by plot.

A and E have even said he was a hero before!!!! Like in SSTR podcast!!! They flat out said he was a hero.

    They are hilarious together!!!

Bold storytelling would be leaving Rumple dead. and I say that as one of the biggest Rumple defenders on this site.
