I hate the way we got here too but HOLY CRAP, aside from the obvious sadness the last 100 pages, the friendships, support, and love that is also everywhere throughout these pages makes my heart happy. Love you all to pieces and I’m glad we all have each other to lean on right now. 🙂

Yeah, I guess cynicism is a better word for it. It does reek of being written like some bad fan fiction story right now but I have no trust in these guys to do anything right anymore. I’m done hoping for the good guys to actually get written like they were back in S1 (smart, aware, bada$$, etc) and expect the villains to get all the happy endings.

I was doing a bit of research to try and explain perhaps why attractive actors seem to get all the fan adoration while so-called “average Joes” seem to get less love. I think it can be explained by a cognitive bias known as the Halo Effect. Essentially, attractive people are considered by many to be more intelligent and kind than non-attractive people. It’s sad but true. This concept has been demonstrated in numerous psychological and statistical tests. That could help to explain how a kindhearted man who made one critical misjudgment seems to have become the sacrificial lamb of everyone else’s sins on the show, while so-called villains who have committed actual crimes go unpunished and then get rewarded, despite lack of true contrition or remorse.  That is what the show has become. Protagonists get written as either dumb or rebranded “villains” while actual villains get rebranded as misunderstood yet sympathetic. That’s postmodernity for you I suppose. I’m not opposed to redemption at all. I applauded Regina and Rumple in 3×11 for making truly selfless acts. Yet, when the story then turns around and nullifies Rumple’s sacrifice by killing his son I have to frown at the the senselessness of it all.
