When it comes to the “Neal is Bae” theory, I’ve been firmly in the maybe camp. Now, I’m almost hoping it is right, because the reunion of Emma, Gold and Bae would then be very interesting and dramatic. (Hopefully, it will not be as low key as Archie not being dead!)
Just wondering if anyone had pictured in their mind how the reaction will take place, or what will be the consequences. Personally, I can imagine Emma’s expression as she looks to Neal and Gold and asks “What do you mean, “Papa”?”. I think Bae will be extremely disappointed, if not angry, that Gold brought magic with him to this land. And Emma, once she’s learned the truth, will want to pack everyone in the bug, head back to Storybrook, and take a lighted match to August. (To give credit where it’s due, it was Nonnie, I believe, who said that should be Pinnocchio’s fate.)
Any ideas?[adrotate group="5"]January 27, 2013 at 3:34 pm #170223tiara_roseParticipant
I do nothing else, but imagine what happen, because don’t forget Henry will be there too. Then you have 3 Generations complete lost in emotions and altough Rumple want to see his son. It will not be easy for him to realize that he send his beloved son to a horror journey alone, where cars frightend his son like ogers would bein the Enchanted forest. Manipulate his life even he wasn’t there by making his love to the savior of the course, that Bae had to leave her. Take Bae’s son away from him and given to the evil queen, who hasn’t normally problems with killing children.
Emma realizing that Rumple is now related to her, because of Henry. Then she will be not in a good mood, because she will think again that Rumple make her love Neal, because of the quest to find his son and question her whole life. Feel guilty because Henry know than the truth of his still ALIVE father and don’t forget the she sees the guy she went to jail for and search after him 2 years in Talahassee for a dream that never come true.
Neal realizing that his father destroyed again his life, because of Emma and his son. Henry, he didn’t know. Reuniting with his father that he didn’t want to see again. Seeing Emma hate him. Hear that his papa threat his own son, coursed a whole town, manipulate people to monsters, bring magic to this wolrd and only to find him again. And don’t forget his father dating a girl that could be Bae’s sister. (I am not sure that Bae will be a Rumbelle shipper, like me 🙂 )
Henry will be at the crossfire and get really mad, when he hear all the lies, realizing that his family tree is much more of a disaster he could think of. It will be too much for him.
Can’t the episode not air today. Can somebody hack the ABC. 😈 I am really desperate for Manhatten. I want to see it NOW… 👿

Over in the “Mr. Gold’s Threat” thread, I suggested that this reunion might be the thing that prevents Emma from killing Gold. Without it, I think the threat Gold made against her family at the end of “In the Name of the Brother” might convince Emma that she has to act to protect Henry and her parents and take advantage of his temporary vulnerability while he is outside Storybrooke and without his powers. Phee suggested in that thread that seeing him so weak and vulnerable in the outside world might change her view of him and give the two of them a chance to grow closer. That could make her more sympathetic to him than Bae/Neal will be.
If Neal is Bae, I’m hoping we get some backstory on how he grew up in our world. Given what he went through, and the fact that he was alone in this world, it would not be surprising that he turned out to have the troubled past we saw in “Tallahassee”.January 27, 2013 at 3:38 pm #170226tiara_roseParticipant

I think the whole thing depends on how much Neal knows…did August tell him that the curse was Regina’s idea or Rumple’s. Perhaps the more he knows about Rumple’s involvement in it the more time he’s had to get past it. Still don’t think he’ll be so quick to reconcile happily though…I mean he was in love with Emma…he cared about her…he saw all the pain she was in from being abandoned by her parents…and guess why she was abandoned by her parents….because of Rumple’s curse.
Then again he may be the kind to blame himself…everything Rumple has done has in some way been because of Bae…from becoming the Dark One to creating the curse.January 27, 2013 at 4:58 pm #170236obisgirlParticipant
I would think the first lines out of Emma’s mouth would be her signature : What the Hell? 😆 😆 if Neal turns out to be Gold’s son.January 27, 2013 at 6:01 pm #170239angiebelleParticipant
I think this adventure is actually going to bring Emma and Gold closer together- not in any sort of romantic way of course, but as friends. Gold is going to have to open up to her- he has rarely spoken to anyone of his son other than Belle, and even she had to drag it out of him. Emma is going to see Gold as vulnerable for the very first time, out of his element, searching desperately for a loved one.
And if Neal turns out to Bae as I think and hope he will, they will both be forever connected by their relationships to him. Like it or not, they are all family now because of Henry. Will Emma forgive Neal? Will Neal if he is Bae forgive his father? I bet Gold is going to look at Henry differently now, realizing that this whole time Henry is his own grandson.
One reason I really like the idea of Neal being Bae is that it would connect all the main families….the Charmings, Rumpel, and Regina who has adopted Henry. Henry becomes the tie holding them together.
