So, while the biggest question that cropped up from this episode is “what’s in the box?”

Another one popped up in my head. Emma sure had her beatle for a long time. After she started to make good money in the Bails Bond business, she easily could have gotten a flashier car, but yet she chose to keep the one thing Neal seemed to have left her. If she truly did hate him, wouldn’t she have actually trashed the car? I wonder why she kept it all these years. If, for some reason, Neal is indeed Bae, and they both were drawn to the car to steal it, perhaps the car had an enchantment on it to make sure they are brought together?????

I think she kept the car for entirely emotional reasons – she kept the swan keyring too, she put it on a chain and we almost never see her without it. It’s something that connects her to a happier time in her life, before she got so emotionally traumatised and started shutting people out. Whatever she feels for Neal, I doubt it’s true hatred.

Eh. Here, I was hoping that it might be a unicorn in disguise.

    A unicorn in disguise…you’re close. It’s a golden bird, a Pheonix in disguise 😀

One can hope. This is one of those shows where nothing is coicidental to me.

Too bad we don’t see a Bumblebee reference, it would be cute. Heck, I am so surprised nobody pulled the “punch buggy, don’t punch back!” line yet.

She kept the car the same reason she kept the keychain and looked for Neal for two years in Tallahasse. She has feelings for him–I think she still loves him. 🙂

I understand why she kept the car and the keychain however I do hope that she has a better self esteem then too look two years for the guy who called the cops on her thinking to herself “he loves me… he loves me”

In her defense, she was still a teenager. She had just been abandoned, and she wanted to hold out on hope. A lot of the women on this show react pretty badly when the man they love dies or leaves them. 🙂

Regina (combined with her tragic abuse) became vengeful and blamed everything on Snow White. Snow White (though Prince Charming did not leave her) became depressed and tried to forget him. And Belle sat in a bar lonely and wistful.

She probably still love him deep inside but also keeps those things as a reminder of what to guard herself against. Lots of people keep things like that to remind them of what they lost so they can make sure it doesn’t happen again.
