I also think the final scene will be the JR popping up on the horizon, seeing the island, the core cast looking over the edge of the JR and then Hook, who is up in the crow’s nest smiling and yelling “Neverland!”
I’d be totally fine with the final scene being a shot of Colin O’Donoghue’s smile. Just sayin’.
My theory is that S3 is going to be very Hook/Bae heavy so showing Hook as the last image would make some of the fanbase really happy.
I think we’ll get our first Hook backstory by episode 5.

I remember being annoyed last year when the Snowing video was released. The actors said they tried to yell fake stuff that sounded similar so they could dub it over later in ADR but people still essentially knew what was going on.
As sad as I’ll be to see SB go I really think it might. The town of Steveston will get their town back (and get to stop changing out the signs all the time!) but it will always be a part of them and I’m sure for years to come it will be a tour destination for hardcore Oncers who will recognize bits and pieces along the way. I love that the town has embraced that (like the ice cream shop!)
As much as spoiler TEASES are great and fun to work off of, I can’t say I’ll miss all the little stuff if it means that the bigger stuff gets kept under wraps. There’s so much stuff out there weeks before that it’s hard to avoid it all (I tried for part of this season but people that I knew knew spoilers kept hinting at various things, or it would be in headlines somewhere etc etc and I just gave up). I kinda miss being actually SURPRISED by more than a couple scenes here and there.
As for how this season could end…I’m not sure given how much stuff we’ve already seen. What would pack a punch like last year with the magic coming?
I like the idea of ending it with the sighting of Neverland, but I think that might be the 2nd to last thing, with it cutting to a clip of the Home Office and then seeing somebody turn around in a chair and we all gasp when we see whoever it is (I’m sure we’ll recognize the person, just not sure who yet) and THEN it will cut to black and we’ll all be freaking out.
We’ve seen so much stuff about various parts of it, moreso than last year I think, that I’m just not sure! I’m hopeful that a lot of things surprise us and I’m sure they will, even though we do have so much to go off right now.
I know last year they only had 3 sneaks (the last one mere hours before it aired) because they didn’t want to give away that Emma believed so early in the ep. It’ll be interesting what they do this year (it’s Wed. so we can at least be on the lookout).
Still sad at the idea of SB going boom so not sure if they want to leave us with that not-so-hopeful image for a show that’s supposed to be about hope (last season did leave us with a lot of hope for the characters but also a jaw dropping “what happens now?” thing with the smoke so I hope that we don’t end on SB going poof.
I just also hope that people don’t freak out next season so much about not seeing set pics of various characters cause I feel like a lot of it will be done on green screen and be more hidden (there was WAY too much drama this year with “we haven’t seen so and so” because they were all hidden).
The only issue with a new location is if they didn’t get an actual set place but are mostly in the studio then the CGI / budget issue. HOWEVER, I’ve been thinking on this. Ratings were iffy this season and I think part of that (besides scheduling etc.) was how much stuff was already out in the public. I remember after the first episode aired people were saying they weren’t really interested in anything until episodes 4 & 6…that’s not a good way to handle a season if we know so much ahead of time that we know what episodes we’re going to be invested in without giving the rest of it a chance! If they can keep more under wraps and it helps with numbers, their budget could potentially go up, especially if it keeps people guessing and gets more people invested in watching it live because of the surprises, rather than saying well, I know pretty much what is going to happen so I’ll watch it later and still not be spoiled (not that I think many do that one way or the other, but I’m not sure that right this second it’s a must-not-miss show for some people other than the fact that this week is a season finale which is huge – the rest of the season there were several hit and miss episodes for people because they knew weeks / months in advance that it was likely to focus on somebody they didn’t care to see. Even this week in the live chat I saw people saying “what are we talking about? so and so came on screen and I tuned them out”…that’s not a good way to do things and if they can convince the network this will help with stuff (and they wouldn’t be spending that part of the budget on borrowing the town / changing props constantly except for an occasional flashback as we do still need some SB-related answers) that could be good.
On the other hand…going to a new place like Neverland does still leave the possibility of those SB flashbacks occasionally and SB would be like seeing an old friend at that point, similar to other characters that we have lost. (I noticed this on Lost but there are some characters I didn’t care so much about them going away, but when you see them in flashbacks it’s “awww, I kinda miss them” and the same kind of thing has happened over time with Once where it’s exciting to get to see someone we haven’t seen in awhile and SB would be a nice way to do that). Did I mention we still need answers in SB??
I really like the idea of it ending with us seeing Neverland (preferably during the DAY, as a) we haven’t seen that yet and b) the directions (and the episode titles) clearly say that the way to get there is “second star on the right and straight on til MORNING) so I would love to get a moment where Hook is ala Captain Jack Sparrow and instead of “Bring me that horizon” it’s our first glimpse of Neverland and Hook is in charge of the ship (as it should be), and then ending with a little cut back to wherever the Home Office is and giving us just a glimpse of who is in charge.
Not that this press release has been overly helpful since it’s left so many names out already…do people have to have an actual speaking part to be eligible for the list? (I assume they work with characters who are mute differently as obviously the actors would need to get paid etc, but I’m talking for normal stuff, in order to count for a regular fee or whatever to get billing as a guest star and show up in press releases they’d need an actual speaking part – meaning maybe we haven’t seen whoever this is on the press release and it’ll be a huge shock.
Note to self: ignore the opening credits / the chat at that point in time. I want to be surprised about who else is going to be there since they’re not putting every name on the press release which is just silly. I wonder how much the creators had to beg the PR department to NOT include some stuff as it would be a dead giveaway (hmm, who could be a dead giveaway from the Home Office?). They teased Jamie Dornan last year but they know his name always gets people excited about watching. This year they’ve given us too much stuff already and I bet there’s lots out there they wish weren’t (like the MAP photo.
Is there any way that the press release people either ran out of room or were asked not to include people? I don’t know how such things work but it seems rather odd….I’ve never seen that happen before I don’t think.
I also agree that leaving it on a Hook smile would be great and please….half the fanbase anyway. I know around here he gets a lot of flack (or maybe that’s mostly in the livechats on Sunday – does he not have a lot of Eastern / Central time-zone love or something?) but they get equal love/hate mail for Neal & Hook so there is a huge group behind Hook so that could be cool to see (I want my Jack Sparrow moments – get me Grumpy saying “I hate pirates,” pronto! – I don’t see us getting an “Ello Poppet” anytime soon but the other could work).
Bring on Neverland!

first- Neal
with all the characters suggesting Neal is dead, Emma in 2×21, and Charming/ Snow in the sneek peek, the majority of non-obsessed fans would think he might actually be dead, so it is silly that would put his name their, especially since most people here know that there are other characters not in the press release which are probably going to be in the finale.
even if the press release is 100 correct about who is in the episode, than adding Neal would be a major spoiler, and furthermore w/o MAP it would lead some to suggest that he is just in it for the ‘last time on Once…’ segment, which would stink. the only way I could see this happening is if the cut the Neal/ MAP scenes for the episode, or they filmed them w/o a real intention of using them, but b/c Neal’s name is in release I would think that MAPs would be for the same reasonMAP- with the knowledge that their were pictures taken of all three of these characters, along w/ neal, plus with news that we would find out what is happening them by the seasons end, it is curious to leave them out. one, anyone whose pays any attention to find this release has probably already seen pics or heard about concluding their story arc for the season, so it is kinda pointless, and two even if they haven’t their names would be less of a spoiler than Neal’s b/c of last episode
Wendy and Blue- while it was nice to meet Wendy last episode it is weird for them to leave her off, b/c we still don’t know what happened after Bae left, or if anything happened at all. but alas if we get these answers it is probably safe to say they won’t be this season
With Blue it is weird considering the whole town is blowing up and you have the biggest magical powers joining but no Blue? she is a fairy and though I hate her and her plot device, this would be the time to have her on the showWhale- his random appearance during the last episode was just well random. even though it fit his character it was like, here remember that their is a person who likes science more than magic but still said that even he needed magic to do his work and maybe help solve these magic v science fight. if anyone should be more involved with this fight on magic with science it should be him
Every minor SB character- I know that is a lot of people, but lets just think about it. if SB does go byebye, and im betting it does, and no one is able to reverse the magic of the diamond (use good magic to transport every one back in FTL or let them simply leave SB w/o losing their memories) there is going to be only two ways to survive, leave SB or the beans.
one of my wild theories once heard that SB might be going byebye is that Snow and Charming would sacrifice their memories and go over the line if Emma was still outside SB. while this didn’t happen, there still could be a chance that people would sacrifice their identities to leave SB behind and live. I don’t have high hopes for this b/c im still not sure of the details of the diamond and if it will affect fairytale characters outside of SB
so that comes down to the beans (maybe Jefferson will get it to work and we will see him but I highly doubt it). based on the bean holes we have seen so far, the one that Bae went into as a kid was rather small, and the one Neal went into didn’t even take up the full room of a building, and the one that Hook went into seemed larger but im curious if it was just the water, or failure in CGI, or just making it more sense with the ship going through. point being, the bean holes don’t last long and it seems that once the hole swallows one thing it quickly closes up. the only way these characters would survive the total destruction of SB is if the go through a bean and with the limited # of them and how they work, they would need to jump in at the same time as the main characters. if people like Hansel, Gretel, Cinderella, Thomas, August, Gepetto, Grace, Jefferson, etc.. don’t show up then I think its the shows way of saying their dead. while all of these storylines have been concluded I don’t think the happily ever after the show was going for was…
“they found each other and lived happily ever after, for about a year when they got blown up by living in a town in a land without magic that somehow has magic, and a boy whose father died and a chick who no ones knows swat about decided to activate a trigger that is in the form of a diamond which when hit with a dwarf ax (which can break diamonds and the boy and chick somehow just know this info) which was put into the curse that brought them to the land without magic (that now has magic) by the Evil Queen, who for some reason wanted a way to end the town which of course at the time she made the trigger there was no magic in the town and blowing it up would lead to her death, and even though they didn’t know the Evil Queen their happiness was taken away from them with the curse (which would lead to their death) until they found each, because the Evil Queen was mad that Snow White told a secret to her mom, and Rumple was just like enact this curse for me to take me to this land w/o magic so I can help break the curse, bring magic, and find my son, but Rumple never learned there is a price to magic and his son was gone by the end of the town. The End.”
if Emma was suppose to bring back happy endings and this was it; the minor characters got nadda out of it, so yah the writers are confusing me with this description
Keeper of Swanfire's dream catcher, the Blue Fairy Plot Device, the contact name "Her", the lanyards, the trigger, the Netherworld room and necklace, Charming's quote on Thanksgiving, and PP's pic of Henry

I know someone earlier in the thread brought up the possibility of it being Jane.
I’m currently looking around trying to make a list of all the Peter Pan stuff I haven’t seen / need to rewatch and I came across this interesting section on the wiki for Return to Neverland: (putting under spoiler tag in case anybody hasn’t seen it and doesn’t want to be spoiled)
“Captain Hook, still seeking revenge against Peter Pan, breaks into the Darling home. Not knowing of the number of years that have passed, Hook mistakes Jane for her mother and kidnaps her to use as bait for Peter. Back in Never Land, he drops Jane into the waiting tentacles of “the beast” (a giant octopus)” – the rest of the Wiki Synopsis can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_to_Never_Land
Ok, so…what if she is Jane, and after some time passes the bad guys – in this case it appears to be at least the older, more sinister lost boys instead of hook; possibly the shadow thing, mistake Jane for Wendy someday and she ends up in Neverland against her will, has a run-in with Rumple and Bae sees this and is sickened by what happens and that's when he flees. The interesting part here that really struck me was mention of both the words “beast” and “octopus” – we've been speculating in the Rumple / Neverland theory thread about Rumple going there after squid ink, dealing with mermaids, causing Bae to flee to our world etc, but I think this might help explain a potential Jane connection – whether it's the new actress or not.
Just thought I’d share for those thinking the actress in question could potentially be Jane. Not sure how much time will pass in Neverland that we’ll get to see all in this episode but time in Neverland is different from time elsewhere so who knows. I’m inclined to think we won’t see Jane quite yet because we should be getting more of Bae’s very early days in Neverland but honestly who knows – some of the other episodes have jumped around a bit too. She’s gotta come into play somewhere though, as presumably, does Jane somewhere down the line.
Going to post this in the Rumple/Neverland theory thread for future discussions not related to this episode description. Not sure if I just discounted the possibility or added to it but we do still have a missing girl to figure out so might as well be thorough. 🙂
