Also worth of note is that the actors that play Philip, Aurora and Mulan are not listed as guests.

I was surprised by the cast listing as well…happy to see the dwarfs but I fully expected Dr. Whale to be back for 2 reasons: 1) We saw him ever so briefly so why bring him back for just the one short scene? (I suppose more could have been cut but sheesh!) and 2) the science vs. magic debate – he should be involved with that big time.
As for the Robin Hood and Marian thing – I coulda sworn we read somewhere that they were going to be a part of the last 4 eps and we haven’t seen or heard anything – I have a feeling they’ll just be mentioned somewhere. Still hate the idea that Tamara is somehow related to RH as I love him and don’t want to have to hate his daughter but she is psychotic no matter who she’s related to so if I must, I must!
I just realized I didn’t see the names of the actors who play Mulan, Aurora or Philip either, but we know they’re going to be in the finale, due to spoiler pics. So, just maybe we’ll get a few more surprises in this episode like seeing Maid Marian and Robin Hood again, discovering that Dr. Whale is somehow linked to the Home Office (maybe), and we’ve yet to meet Laine MacNeil, who was cast around the same time as Freya Tingley, but whose character is still a mystery.

😯 😯 😯 😯 😯
How did I miss that?!?!?!
Excellent *tons of cookies for you*
That gives me hope that we might see RH again for proof of Tamara’s parentage.
Lanie MacNeil isn’t listed either and we know she is in this episode as SOMEONE

Yes, Tamara must totally be connected to Robin Hood and Maid Marian. She needs to have a compelling backstory.
Also, I have a feeling Freya Tingley could show up again as adult Wendy (it’s been hinted we’d see her again in the present day). Freya is 19, so they could dress her up to look older (mid 20s) instead of young Wendy (age 13). If the theory is correct that the Home Office was founded by Wendy Darling, we might just see her again in the finale. 😮

I agree. When it was revealed that Freya was Wendy I was so confused because Freya is quite a bit older than Wendy (remember, we all though Lanie would be Wendy because of her age) so casting a 19 yr old to originally play a 13 yr old has to mean that we’ll see her later.

Does this mean that…*gasp* they’re actually trying to keep SOMETHING under wraps for once?? They’ve never done that before but….wow, a conservatively edited cast list. Interesting!
Now I do know that sometimes people just say don’t bother putting me in the list because then it gives away the surprise (since credits now roll at the beginning of the episodes, including guest-starring). That’s rare these days but I’ve heard of it happening (can’t remember who now or which show grr) but if the surprise is big enough sometimes they say for the good of the reveal blah blah.
That being said I doubt it would happen with that many people so I’m surprised that they’re not listed but it does beg the question of who else isn’t.
I’m not sure if you have to have your name at the beginning to get credit for being in the episode (I would think so and I don’t think it really happens retroactively) so I’m not sure why anybody would actually want to do that or be ok with doing that unless it’s just so massive or a tiny little cameo where they’re seen but not heard – I think you have to have a line of dialogue don’t you? – but it is rather odd given the pictures we’ve seen of MAP that none of them would have lines.
Now wasn’t there some speculation about a stand-in for Mulan and her face being covered because the actress is super busy? Maybe they don’t have lines after all but are seen. Still weird.
And then there’s that new person who wasn’t listed at all either but we know she was cast so I have no idea. Handful of sinister lost boys but none of the rest of these? Last year they were hyping Jamie Dornan like there was no tomorrow!
IF they are keeping things significantly under wraps than I applaud them. Job well done.

In a Land Without Magic, they kept Jamie’s name off screen until the exact moment he took off his helmet for people who didn’t know he was coming back. So maybe the first scene while the credits roll in the EF and Neal meeting MAP.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 6, 2013 at 8:13 pm #191622MysteryKat25ParticipantGood point RG. I partly think it just worked out that way though just because it’s happened in other episodes. I’m trying to remember which one it was but I remember seeing Barbara Hershey’s name at the beginning of the ep and then didn’t see her until the end (almost forgot about it by the time she showed up…) but I know with Lost etc that was a problem (especially in S6) when it was pretty obvious by the opening credits who would be a surprise had we not read the names.
(This is part of the problem with being obsessed with a show to the point where you know who every actor is by name and actually notice credits at the beginning).
It’s still weird so many names were left off the press release though. Have they been wrong any other episode where they didn’t list somebody?
I know we have the reverse problem sometimes because regulars are always listed but not always seen but I don’t remember an ep where somebody wasn’t listed in the press release. Sometimes they’ve used other character names that don’t give away big reveals but not ignoring them altogether…

THIS. Did the same thing with LOST.
This guest cast for this episode is what you expect: the dwarves, Neal, GOAT.
It’s what they left off that’s the most interesting."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love" -
