I think Regina and Rumple delay the explosion of SB until everyone gets out: Emma sends them all to the EF and then they get on the JR and go. But A and E have said they wouldn’t show us a bomb and not have it go off.

I disagree. While Cora and Regina are evil monsters, they are not beyond reasoning with; Tamara, however, is a fanatic, and there’s nothing more dangerous than dealing with fanatics, because there’s no reasoning with someone who believes wholly in the righteousness of his/her mission. It’s like expecting Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden to have come to a peace agreement, it was just not going to happen.
Regina can reason, this is true, but we haven’t been given the chance to see this about Tamara. No one has tried to really change her mind about her underlying assumptions about Magic yet. We don’t even know what those assumptions fully are.
As for Cora–I would say she was actually beyond reason most of the time. Remember the time Jefferson tried to bargain with Cora? He says “If I tell you how I got here, can I see my daughter” and her response is, “Off with his head!” Or the time Snow traded the dagger for Johanna’s life, and Cora flung Johanna out the window anyway? I don’t think Cora was “reasonable”. Her cause was herself and her quest for power and maybe Regina (though I’m still not sure about that) and she would not let anything stop her.
No, I think people are harder on Tamara because we haven’t gotten her backstory, she interfered with a popular ship, she has “killed” two of our more main hero characters, is a two-timer. While there are some parallels with real world fanatics and we fear such people (rightly so), not everyone who believes in a cause goes full-on nutso about it so long they cannot ever see reason or admit wrong-doing. Someone mentioned the Salem Witch Trials in connection with the Home Office–ever see this? Declaration of Regret. People sometimes get caught up in a cause until something makes them see the evil behind what they themselves are doing, not just those they are attacking in the name of righteousness. I don’t know how they intend to write Tamara just yet–full on crazy or just misguided. She did seem regretful about shooting Neal and popping the portal, telling him he was a good man, so perhaps as we see more they could show us the other side of her story. Then she dies just as we realize she’s not quite the fanatic and lost cause that we thought. Because they like to play with us like that.
Maybe GOAT back off the destruction plan–though I do doubt that, too early to “redeem” them. I think Phee’s idea is likely–the explosion does not actually happen, and they are forced to haul tail out of there and go to Plan B.

I’m not convinced that Emma has enough knowledge and control over her powers to be able to create an extreme portal that can safely transport 1000s of people to a specific place. Also, if she can fix up that portal that will transport 1000s of people at once, then what do a small group of them need to get together on the ship for, because couldn’t she just do the same trick for them that she did for everyone else?

Unless the have unfinished business. Emma sends everyone to the EF, thinking the family can go after GOAT. But then they discover that GOAT has gone and the one portal Emma could open is closed and she’s drained. Enter Hook with this stolen bean and a ship to NL.

Idea that just popped into my head, and speaking of assumptions, it plays into the one that Tamara is the child of Robin and Marian. For this theory to be able to play out, I think Tamara would have had to have been in an Emma-esque situation, where either her pregnant mother, or herself as a baby, was sent to our world. Maybe the situation with a magical tree portal to save an unborn baby wasn’t the first time Blue had done it, and pregnant Marian, or Marian and baby Tamara got away. Tamara would have been told stories about her father and where their family came from and what happened to separate them. Then Marian died in our world, and Tamara ended up stuck in the “anger” phase of grieving, because her mother was gone and she never knew her father…which is the fault of magic. Perfect recruit for The Home Office. (I know this isn’t taking the grandmother into account, but let’s assume that she was the only person who Tamara had left after her mother died, but then grandma died too, and Tamara no longer had anyone to hold her accountable, so she threw herself full force into her current cause).
Anyway…if a situation like that proves true for Tamara’s history…then GOAT and Henry end up in FTL and run into long lost Papa Robin, he may be the one to trigger a change in Tamara and explain to her how wrong she is to have this vendetta against magic. Also, it would add tension between GOAT if Greg’s just discovered that his father died, but then Tamara gets reunited with hers, who she wasn’t even looking for.

Hmmm, I suppose. I dunno, I still think that sending everyone in town via an Emma created portal is a task beyond them though. How would they even coordinate such a thing in a very short space of time? Put a flier on the town notice board saying: “Everyone who wants to go back to FTL, please report to the former bean field promptly at 2pm, at which time Emma will attempt to open a massive portal for you all to jump into. Yes we know, she doesn’t have full control of her powers yet, but we’re sure it’ll be safe. We’re not coming ourselves just yet, but hope to meet you on the other side one day soon. We’ll find you, promise. *fingers crossed* Much love, from your fearless leaders, TeamCharmings.”
Alternatively, if Emma could conjure up some, “Send them all back with the exclusion of this shortlist”, type spell, similar to how Regina’s curse swept up everyone and a few others she added in, then how would Hook still be in SB to come to their rescue when they realise they have no options left? He wouldn’t have been included on the shortlist of those to be kept while everyone else got sent away.

That’s an interesting idea. I definitely think that Hook will show up with his stolen bean and the Jolly Roger. But I do wonder about Emma being able to send everyone to the EF. I think she will stop the fail safe somehow but still not sure how and what effect that will have. I will have to think about it some more. π

Rather than transporting everyone in SB back to the EF, I think Emma’s innate True Love magic could simply be enough to reverse the failsafe, even after if it’s already been activated. Her magic is fueled by her instinct to protect people. In Broken, Emma touched Regina’s arm, which activated Jefferson’s hat and saved Regina’s life. In The Queen of Hearts, Emma pushed Snow White out of harm’s path and deflected Cora with her care bear stare. And in The Miller’s Daughter, Emma created a protective barrier spell when her parents, Neal, and Rumple were in danger. So, imagine if the town of SB is about to wiped off of the map and herself and her family included. I think Emma’s mama bear emotions would be in overdrive with Henry’s life especially at stake. She could have an adrenaline-charged true-love-is-the-most-powerful-magic moment. Thus, SB and its townsfolk would be preserved after all. Then, Tamara and Greg jump ship, kidnapping Henry along the way, and Emma & Co. go after them in Hook’s ship, because Hook manages to swipe one of the two remaining beans off of GOAT just before he double-crossed them.
