If they’d made Hades actually look otherworldly then the blue flames wouldn’t look so bad. As it is, they’ve just got a guy in a suit with CGI fire for hair which looks out of place.

I think that’s a good point.  Without the suit, maybe it looks more fitting.

Jesus. Usually I can defend their creative decisions. But this time… God it’s just so bad. I can’t do it.

How is anyone supposed to take him seriously?!?!

    Dear OuaT Editors:

There is still time to fix this. Simply remove the CGI and all will be good.

I think this isn’t actually what Hades looks like. If you look in the bottom left, there seems to be some blue fire there too. So I’m guessing the blue flame hair is just a reference to the film and not actually what his head looks like.

So, idk, I guess someone throws a fireball at him, hits his head, but it doesn’t really hurt him so he just laughs it off as his head burns.

I have no words, so i will simply use a gif, to describe what i think about this.

I think the understated smoke looks okay, just not the flames themselves. And rather than “menacing”, the facial expression says “Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster”, but maybe playing Hades for laughs is the intent.

It looks so awful, but maybe it is just the screen cap of it making it look worse . Maybe he will only be like this some of the time.

Having finally stopped laughing at that atrocious CGI thingy, I read the article

“Hades is a very dangerous fellow, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun being the Devil.

    Oh. Oh dear lord.

Oh what are they doing with my warm happy Greek mythology.

    No. Stop it.

Hades is not the Devil. He’s not just the Greek version of Satan.
